The bare minimum for a : Dyson Sphere program ep6

- That is the majority of the low end stuff done. Net up is photons, antimatter and knocking out the last of the science which should be pretty handy. The harder part will be scaling up the dyson sphere and migrating to a more productive system.

Build the most efficient intergalactic factory in space simulation strategy game Dyson Sphere Program! Harness the power of stars, collect resources, plan and design production lines and develop your interstellar factory from a small space workshop to a galaxy-wide industrial empire.
Thanks for another great video! When you wanted to build multiple vertical launchers by dragging: you can add more space to your dragged multiple-building chains by hitting tab and / or + key. - key to reduce space again.
I feel the need as a physicist to "defend" DSP a little. The actual energy output of solar sails in the game is fairly small compaired to their approximate size, especially integrated into a sphere instead of used as a swarm. I did not do the math, but it means they are practically transparent. So it is actually not cheating to layer multiple spheres, swarms and rings and still not 100% block the sun. The light output of suns is actually mindbogglingly large. As an example: the moon is actually a dark gray, but looks bright white reflecting even the tiny amount of sunlight it does!
Per definition, deuterium D would be a complete atom of 1 proton, 1 neutron and 1 electron. Chemically stable would be D2 as a gas or heavy water (D20, like H2O, but with 2 extra neutrons) and that would be the easiest way to transport it. You actually could theoretically generate the neutron by "fusing" an electron with a proton and let that fuse with a hydrogen atom, but "fractionator" implies that you purify the fraction of naturally occuring deuterium in hydrogen gas. That, however, would not consume all of that hydrogen. Why the devs decided to put only the deuterium nucleus (termed deuteron) without an electron as a plasma into fuel rods, I cannot fathom, but at least as a plasma it should nicely glow!
A game with a full Dyson sphere would be so broken it would be impossible to play it
Bombard nitrogen with gamma rays to generate tritium isotopes. Wait for the tritium to decay into dueterium isotopes. Perhaps this is what the Dev was picturing with the fractionator, or something psuedo sciency like that.
@@VherokNot particularly. The act of "Fractionation" is to split a volume of mixed chemicals into fractions by some characteristic (mass in this case.) I think the devs just realized that they would have to make two types of hydrogen (natural hydrogen and pure hydrogen which can't be fractionated again), then duplicate every recipe that uses hydrogen to use both types, so they decided to just let the players loop the fractionator.
It might be easier with the new "tagging" system (no need to create two hydrogens, just put a tag on every fractionated hydrogen that doesn't affect any other usages). However, I don't think that is a good idea because DSP doesn't have any ways to void overflow automatically, so a player might end up running out of Deuterium and need to manually clear out tanks of useless Hydrogen to get more.
Francis please show us your unplanned sidequests! We wanna see them!
remember, it follows factorio rules. The farther away from your starting planet, the more resources there are.
i didnt know this thanks for the advice
You can proliferate the hydrogen to get more chance to obtain deuterium, making it less tedious
On the other hand it's an infinite resource, so not worth doing this way.
@@KainYusanagi It is worth it though.
@@mrShift_0044 It's not worth it, because proliferator requires finite resources, so use it on materials that actually matter, further up the chain on higher tier materials.
Those miners are op. Get them.
try to not proliferate unlimited resources (fiere ice, hydrogen, deuterium) since the proliferator itself is more valueable.
also, you can hold ctrl to grab and place items directly on the belt just like you would on factorio (works with buildings too)
it makes sense because if all ingredients are proliferated you get more 'prolifieration points' hence max bonus of production.
You can use tab to change the splitters to different models, and I used the stacked belt method a few years back and it was a great way of not taking up loads of room for a bus - the different splitters help
Excellent episode. Keep up the great work.
Thank you, more please
I love the moment where francies did a francies and francie'd all over the place
So like.... all the time??
Nice one!
I quite like multiple layers in a sphere. I do a double-spiral sphere, one spinning clockwise and one counterclockwise. It looks really nice once complete, very cool to fly through.
you can streetch out in build mode with + and - keys to adjust the spacing between buildings, then you can place multiple launch pads at once.
Large sphere panels will minimize the nodes, that solar sails need. It'll take extra super long to build the panels, because so few sails can be entering a node at a same time.
For the launchers, if you flip each 2nd one 180 they can go side by side close enough so you can directly connect them to each other
19:40 pesky alarms when you break into your logistics tower.
You can just run a pile sorter backwards on the converyor to stack up full stacks FJ. run in a second full belt doing the same thing and join them to get a betlt fully stacked
A multi layer dyson sphear is a real concept. Its called a Matrioshka Brain, and it works by reabsorbing the theemal radiation from prevous layers to increase efficiency. The idea is to use the power to run supercompuiters off of it, thats why its a brain.
you built all of this stuff and no lag at all . I wish I had better PC . I think I will play Factorio haha
Nice deuterium loops! With the Dyson sphere, the more nodes, the more power it will generate. So make them closer together. Then you also need to fill in the area with sails and you also have to fill them in on the planner.
And were back with more dyson sphere not included
You know the extra bus you added to your mall (the PlusBus TM xD) is very similar to how you handled the bus in Satisfactory. Just an observation I made. Both games are 3D, so similar problem and you came up with a similar solution.
Proliferating the high cost items so that you get way more return might be a good idea. Just a thought. :P
This game is so addictive, I just wish the enemies were tougher
Amazing :)
Push tab while building multiple buildings to stretch the distance between them.
Yay, more dision sphere!
Personally, I'm a fan of the cashmere crystals.
@@r3dp9 this will have massive impact onto a Hive droid population.
You'll need all of that power to make cookies obviously.
Cosmic warping cookie mega oven of absolute doom (now proliferated with frosting!)
Dsp owns!
Does anyone actually read the names?
No, no one does. And I wasn't reading some of the names to then catch that question among the names. That question is definitely not among the names.
So, if you set your contribution name to be that question to find out if anyone reads at least some of the names... the answer is no, no one reads them.
You sound like one of those intelegence spheres that you latch onto GLaDOS to make her less agressive...
So I wonder if and when the new friends will show up now that the sun is being tapped for energy... >:}
What's that website you use for planning how much stuff you need?
If you proliferate rockets, it will launch faster!
Isn't it better to make green science cubes from the space warpers? I think they give 8 science if i remember correctly.
You have it reversed. You get 8 warpers from 1 green science
It is the reverse, you can use the green science cubes to make 8 space warpers. I have no idea if it is better or not.
Ah, my bad. Been a while since i played. Thanks! :P
:)
hope you're doing ok over there, my friend. 🙏

What's the website Francis is using for planning production?
I believe it's Factoriolab, they have a dyson sphere mode.
