Pokémon Legends Arceus is not a perfect game, but it's definitely the best Pokémon game we've had in a long time, because it takes risks and feels like a proper step forward for the franchise. I hope Pokémon Legends Z-A does the same, just with higher quality graphics, then we'll have a 10/10 game.

I haven't completed the Post Game stuff for Legends Arceus yet, but I just wanna say that Legends Arceus reignited my love for Pokemon and is the sole reason why I gave Shield and Scarlet a try. Similarly, I was starting to get Pokemon Burnout with the same old formula I've been playing for years with little to no variation, and Ultra Moon was definitely the straw that broke the camel's back for me.
When I saw Legends Arceus I was definitely more skeptical but curious, once I got a lite switch and played it I would literally pull all nighters just running around catching and recording as many pokemon as I could. I was ENAMOURED with Legends, and while I did struggle with Volo's fight (having to restart about 2 or 3 times), I was so proud when I was able to 1v1 Giratina with the Umbreon I had spent so much time and effort to train. Forever and always that fight remains vivid in my mind

Aye I'm glad you feel the same way about the game, and I definitely lost interest in the series around Pokemon Sun & Moon too.
That fight with Volo will go down as one of the greatest finales to a Pokemon game, it's just so memorable as you say! I wonder how Game Freak will be able to top that for Legends Z-A.

@@FootedGhost2 I'm hoping for the best for Legends Z-A, I'm so excited for it! I'm also curious to see how they top that, what the storyline is gonna be and how they handle Mega Evolutions in that game. I feel like they're at least gonna touch on the war that was briefly mentioned in X and Y and probably have Az more prevalent to the story, those are my theories anyways. Either way, fingers crossed for Z-A!

Hopefully Legenda Z-A is going to be a worthy successor.
Also, gotta love that legends arcues has an audio cue for when shinies spawn. Got a shiny zubat near the start and it's been in my party since.
I also gotta give some credit to volo. That fight is the first time I have genuinely struggled with a battle for the first time in 10 years of playing pokemon.

I love the shiny hunting in this game, and yeah the audio cue for a shiny is just sooo good and satisfying to hear when roaming around an area.

Behold my essay of a comment:
I too finished Legends: Arceus and Pokemon Scarlet's main story recently, so this is quite the happy coincidence.
I am somebody who has enjoyed every mainline Pokemon game even with their issues, and Legends: Arceus' gameplay changes were a hard sell for me. But after I finally had the opportunity to give the game a chance, it won me over completely. I managed to avoid blacking out throughout the whole game except for one instance where Enamorous stun-locked me to death by spawning her attacks on top of me multiple consecutive times. But avoiding blacking out was such a fun part of the gameplay loop. Like you said, being forced to go into every area with at least some kind of plan and having to stay vigilant while outside of the village was a good time.
I spent so long avoiding battles with Alpha Pokemon out of fear that I was too weak to beat them that I forgot that I actually could battle them until late in the game.
Hearing that being banished from Jubilife Village would have turned you into a Volo-level supervillain if you had the option makes me think a playthrough from you would have been hilarious. Speaking of...
I am glad you appreciate the magnificence of Volo as much as I (and everyone else, apparently) do. Volo forcing us into a surprise 6 v 8 is something I will never forget. Before Volo, I had beaten every Pokemon game since Gen 6 without losing a battle so this was an experience I still hold dear. Volo elevates the whole game with his betrayal and battle. Beating Volo took me multiple attempts, I even had to go away, train my Party up and optimise my moves for the battle to have a chance. Being forced to leave and grind in order to beat my opponent was something I have not had to do since Gen 5's Pokemon League, so you bet it was a wonderful feeling to realise that I just was not strong enough at first. The fear that came with having the thought, "wait... is this Cynthia's team?!" still sits with me. That entire endgame was something I never would have expected from Pokemon. Bravo to GameFreak. Pokemon typically sucks with its twists, and Volo's betrayal was a standout twist for the franchise.
Much like you, I have not cared enough for completing the Pokedex to actually try doing it for many years (mostly because you cannot do it without having access to other Pokemon games, which I usually don't). Legends: Arceus is the first game since Gen 4 (fittingly) where I was motivated to complete the Pokedex, because it felt genuinely doable for the first time in years. It did take me a while, but I made the effort to fill it up as much as I could during my journey throughout the main story so I did not have much to do after beating Volo. I had set myself up throughout the story just in case I needed to fully complete every entry to meet Arceus, so while it still took me many hours over a few days, I spent a relatively small amount of time finishing the Pokedex.
    ...
Or at least, a relatively small amount of time ACTIVELY finishing the Pokedex. My final few entries were for Pokemon who you have to rely on luck in order to encounter, so you know my bad luck made me wait for hours to get them all. Playing Pokemon Scarlet after beating Legends: Arceus made me realise that I now care about completing the Pokedex again, so I have been going through making the effort to catch 'em all in Pokemon Scarlet too. And as for another thing that surprised me, I had a good time hunting for all of the Wisps to assemble Spiritomb. I hate having to search large open spaces for small items that can be placed anywhere you can reach, so this game did something special by making me enjoy the hunt.
The battle against Arceus was incredibly fun too. To amend something I said earlier, I think I also blacked out once against PokeGod too. Even after Volo, I was not ready for the game to kick my ass. Arceus changing types mid-battle is something I have thought would be a good change to how it's ability has historically worked, but I never expected GameFreak to actually do it. What a shock. I am glad they made us work for the victory against Arceus even after making us work for a complete Pokedex. Earning that piece of Arceus was completely worth all of the effort they made us put in.
Something I do not hear many people bring up is how responsive (usually) and quick the game's movement and inputs are. Especially after playing through Scarlet, which I think is a downgrade in terms of control, I have to give props to how nicely Legends: Arceus feels. Going back to finish Brilliant Diamond now after beating Legends: Arceus and Scarlet is going to be tough - I hate how that game controls. But this comment is about Legends: Arceus, and Legends: Arceus is fantastic.
It's cool to hear that we had the same experience with the music. Moving through Eterna Forest and realising where I was as soon as those recognisable chords kicked in after some time running around was a pretty magical experience. A very well-designed part of the game.
The battle system of the game took some getting used to, but wow I think it was really good overall. I think combining the Style system with the regular battle system could make for a really great development of the iconic battle system we have now. But if it stays unique to Legends: Arceus, I think I can live with that.
I took way too long typing this comment, and I am sure it took too long to read so I'll end it. Great video about a great game, Ghost. I enjoyed this a lot. I have not played Scarlet/Violet's DLC yet but, if you make a video like this about your experience with those games, I'll be there to watch it (as long as you don't talk about the DLC).
Pokemon Legends: Arceus is not a perfect game, it is not even my favourite Pokemon game, but I think I agree that it is the best Pokemon game released in the last few years.

      @FootedGhost2  2 месяца назад +2

Thank you for such an awesome comment man. Don't worry, I read through it all ahaha.
Glad you agreed with a lot of my takes! It's good to see you highlight the responsive movement, I probably should have spoken about that myself as you're right, it's very well done, and extremely quick, compared to the stiffness of other Pokémon games. It made catching and battling wild Pokémon SUPER fun!
The battle system is something I hope they keep and improve upon with Legends Z-A, there's a lot of potential there, but I will say it was a nice change of pace compared to the standard battling system.
Again, thanks for watching the video, really glad you enjoyed it

2:18 and the feature that is a must in ever 3D Pokemon and makes all the sense to be in them and literally makes no sense to not be in them makes S&V more baffling, especially as they have all the machines already in there. The only reason it's not is thar they have to off said "no, we don't wan't this game to be the best it can" because there is no reason not to have it and when it's proven to fit perfectly in 3D Pokemon game it's just a middle finger when it isn't.

PLA is my favourite game of the series and I doubt that there will be a game that will surpass it (except maybe a Legends Kyurem maybe, gen 5 is insane). I am an open world /monster hunter fan and I absolutely love the gameplay and the world design as it matches perfectly with my playstyle. The soundtrack is really good (I still prefer some osts from gen 4), the characters are also really good, especially Volo and Adaman, completing the pokedex was fun to an extent (I don't like to wait for st distortions) and the battles are also quite hard sometimes which is appreciated in Pokémon. I don't like three things:
    1. The graphics. They is a wide room for improvement, but like, it's nintendo switch, what do you expect?
    2. Some aspects of the story. It was good overall but I think it could have been exploited some stuff much better. Like, just imagine a story that focuses more on Arceus itself, with a villain team that is like a Giratina cult and Volo is the leader and are trying to use the power of the creation trio to fight and catch Arceus to rule the world and the universe, I don't know there's so many possiblities.
    3. I hate and absolutely despise Dialga and Palkia origin form. They're absolutely hideous. The concept is really good but they could have executed it way better. Just look at some fanarts and you'll see what I mean. Dialga is not that horrible but Palkia??? That shit disgusting. And it hurts me a lot because the creation trio is my favourite legendary trio ever.
