I've ordered one, as I mostly ride on my own. So the pillion or top box wouldn't bother me. It was the gearbox, and engine that sold it for me. I like the looks, and with phone connectivity and cruise control, its just what I'm after.
Totally agree with the engine. I have had my gsxs1000f for nearly 5 years. before that it was a gsxr k5 1000 for 4yrs,and before that a gsxr1000 k4 for 4yrs. Just a stunning motor!!
Cheers Andy. I’m picking up mine in a week time and it can’t come soon enough. For me and my planned adventures it came down to this or the Kawasaki 1000SX. I test rode both, Kawasaki edging it in what you get for a £13k budget, but the Suzuki was just so much more fun. I loved every second of the GT. To me the SX felt lifeless in terms of how it made you feel. If you’re in the market, test ride them all and go with what you love rather than how they appear on paper!
In Denmark, you can get the GT in two versions: The base version comes without panniers, without heated grips and with the low wind screen. The “Power” version comes with panniers, heated grips, the higher touring screen and an extended 5 year warranty. The upcharge is roughly £600… I don’t think they’ll sell a single Base GT!
I'm thinking that is likely the point. I don't Suzuki really intends to sell them without bags, at least. The stripper version is just there to claim a lower starting price.
In Canada even the GT is near impossible to purchase. I’ve been told by my trusted dealership that, as of May, they are either pending sale or already sold. Love to try one to buy one though, but that’s not likely to happen.
Great info Andy, on a bike that woukd appeal to me. Interesting at 3.29, regards rear grab handles, I personally find they work better at the back as you can brace yourself against acceleration /braking, better than side handles. When side grab handles became fashionable about 20 yrs ago, most reviewers bemoaned the switch from rear postion.
I think its a bike for the sports rider who does some occasional solo touring trips, let's face it you can't get that much touring rides in if you are working class in this day and age 😉
I agree fully with you. It is not a full fledged touring machine. Mostky occasional with a sporty focus. I had a gsxs1000 2018 and the naked was more thab capable of touring, you just needed a set of panniers. Awesome bike for long travel.
Of course your points are valid, if you are looking at this bike purely as a touring bike and that being the only market Suzuki aimed this bike at. Suzuki call this a Sports/Tourer, which the engine/handling and slick quick shifter/blipper totally justified the use of " Sports " in the title. And for those of us that can no longer enjoy a day's playing out on a 1000cc out and out sports bike, because we require a little more comfort, but still wants a bike that can light us up, with the occasional short trip away. Then this bike covers that need...Bang on.
Eyeing one up in the showroom today: it is so striking in that shade of blue and the styling is really growing on me - looks very futuristic. When I one day make the jump from my middleweight naked to a sports-tourer, I will certainly consider this.
I agree 💯 the tft screen has lines going up and down / blinking on the gsxr 1000 2022 mc also the honda Africa twin 2019-2021 motorcycle cheap tft screen.
To me the comfort of a touring motorcycle isn't just about the seat and handlebars, it's also about the closeness of the footpegs and the angle of the lower leg. I have an adventure bike with a 90° knee angle and mainly because of that it's so much more comfortable than my old sports tourer (for me ;)
I ordered at GT and couldn't be bothered to wait 5-6 months for delivery, I'm not disappointed with the new 1000F I bought instead 😁still the same great bike without the frills!!
It does seem crazy that things like heated grips, too box, center stand aren’t offered on this? I guess Suzuki would say that not offering them keeps the price down, but what’s the point if the competition do va similar price? The Kawasaki just seems like a no-brainer in most comparisons. Just my opinion but I like the looks. Nice review. 👍
Couldn't agree more with the cons. Perhaps on the Mark 2? The fact that Mrs TMF was unwilling to be tempted onto the back says a lot. Suzuki should be listening. Spot on. Happy travels 👍
Great update, thanks! This is one intriguing rig. For the price, no heated grips is expected, but at least they're an option. And, yes, there is an optional touring screen from Suzuki. Rather than just a look at the pillion seat providing the word on it, how about a real pillion ride? It looks, too, like a center stand is a tradeoff for the neatly tucked-in cans, which I can live with. Those subjective things are, well, subjective indeed. About the one headlight on, that's on many bikes now, and ... who cares! I think it looks great, overall, though it would've been easy to make that beak a bit more attractive (but most of use don't ride these things whilst sitting on the front wheel...). I'd also say against the 9GT you MUST factor in the performance differences. I'd take the tradeoff in features, as the 1000GT is, no doubt, much quicker everywhere, and from what I can glean, handles better. But I've heard a few times already it's a bit short-geared; nothing a 1-2 fewer sprocket won't fix (and better front brake pads). There's so much to like, here: performance, looks, reliability, comfort, value, plenty of electronics that actually provide some utility (like the outstanding screen/interface and quick shifter). This fall - when supply chain issues settle down, hopefully - I'll be looking at this, the NT1100, the 9GT, and the SX. I think it'll be a matter, more than anything, of whether I physically fit best on one of them. Not EXACTLY apples-to-apples, but each has it's own major attractions, and surely won't disappoint. BTW, I've axed the gorgeous Guzzi V100 from the list because after all this time they still can't get it together enough to give us pricing and a potential delivery time. I'd wager the bike itself may not even be fully cooked by then, and nobody should be a test case for any manufacturer.
I agree with you, this review feels very rushed and the negative are irrelevant really. I myself have currently a VFR800X Crossrunner, and if I had to change now I'd take either the Suzuki or the Z1000SX. I have tested the NT1100 but my Crossrunner is way funnier than that one.
The GT has a better rider triangle for taller riders than the SX. Both OEM screens, like most OEM screens, don’t work well for taller riders. The GT has a much better QS, and better engine and throttle response than the SX. Both bikes offer optional heated grips. The SX’s brakes and tires are better but the GT will turn in quicker lap times. Looks are a matter of choice. The GT is well screwed together. The Kawi is more refined. The SX’s panniers are better made than the GT, that includes the mounting system, but the GT’s panniers are easier to load and have more usable space. Can’t get an OEM top box for the GT. Both bikes offer a lot capability and value for the money
Hello fine Sir - I do enjoy your reviews and choice of guest bikes. Please look into the audio recording. The sound is not so great. Maybe the Revzilla producers would extend some professional courtesy and lend you a tip or two. Carry on
Hi I ordered my suzuki gsx s 1000 gt in November. Got delivery on the 5 th april, have now done 3700 miles I have been riding for 50 years and have owned dozens of motorcycles in that time some good some bad the most unreliable bikes i ever owned were bmw had two gs both gave me electrical problem and i think they are over rated But thats only my opinion Getting back to the suzuki I can safely say its the most enjoyable bike I have ever owned. It does have faults ie front brake takes a lot of pulling seat is sore after 120 miles no centre stand but god that engine it does not need a gearbox I love the looks but that is a personal thing the price its a lot of bike for the money I also get 180 out of a tank
Great video as usual Mr Flyer!! As an aside, isn't Great Missenden a beautiful little village. Many many years ago, I brought the kids to the Roald Dahl museum there.
Enjoyed the summing up of this bike. I think they should have committed to a decently comfortable single seat tourer, replaced that daft pillion with a proper touring trunk and gone wholeheartedly for the one man market!! Centre stand and heated grips a must nowadays, and two headlights in day mode or none and rely on the eyebrows!!
Great video. It helped convince me to get one of these. I only ride solo and I don't mind getting a stand, so I think it's going to work out well. Thanks, mate!
The one headlight thing has roots in safety and I’m mostly sold - two lights are easy to confuse with a distant car as opposed to a closer bike. I had a Ducati 848 that worked the same, you learned who were busy bodies pretty quickly. 😜
As a 1050xt vstrom owner id considered a smaller lighter tourer but i think suzuki have missed the bullseye....screen... no centre stand.... panniers extra cost...its really a single rider sports tourer...a winner in the making ....
Yeah I find this bike intriguing vs others in the class with its lower weight and legendary engine, but would I actually have one over a V-Strom 1050 for less? Probably not...
I do get we’re you are coming from about the top box but both the Suzuki and the Kawasaki are marketed as Sports Tourer not as a touring bike and as it is marketed to be a crossover from a sports bike for me I would say they have got it right I own a Kawasaki Z1000sx and I did go down the route of fitting a top box and have removed it it looks better without it and it handles like it was designed to with out it I have owned it for 8 years and at the moment the only bike I would buy to replace it is a new one. If I was going to go touring with my wife on the back I would buy a dedicated touring bike. Love your channel it’s one of the best out there keep up the good work.
Nice review. Looking at the US web site shows that an optional touring windscreen is available. Looking at most 1L sport tourers I would say that they all lack pillion comfort.
I have a deposit on one in the US. I have other bikes I can use for the rare circumstance when I am riding with a pillion. I like the looks, myself. Center stands often get in the way of my heels when riding -- I had to take the one off of my Multistrada. I also think a hard top box would ruin the look of the bike. I can go with a low profile soft top case and be happy. Getting heated grips as an OEM accessory doesn't bother me. Same with a taller touring screen (or as part of a touring package) I like that the bike is at the sport bike end of the touring bike spectrum, including that the seat is low and looks like it is fairly easy to get on and off of. I'm viewing it as a gentleman's GSXR 1000. I have also read about an anti-stall feature on this bike. Is it an auto-clutch that means you don't need to use the clutch at low speeds? Did your test bike have it?
Suzuki should have popped down to mine could have got some tips from my 2007 BMW R1200RT, centre stand, tick, windshield for on coming gales, tick, comfort for two, tick, panniers plus back box, tick. Great review Andy, I stick with my old faithful for touring.
Thanks for a great real-world review. (You have white vans. Over here in the US we have little gray mall-crawlers [SUVs] driving 10 mph below the speed limit.)
Its the same bike as my 21 gsxs 1000 with a few modern bits. The screen on this is so much better though. Also the name is a ridiculous mouthful, but at least they dont make names up like cars..the arcana, Kona, and sportage. Ridiculous. Suzuki tend to throw lots of bikes at us...its them testing customer responses, then they land gems like the gixxer 1000, the busa and the gigantic all rounder the bandit 6 and 12. Great video, very slick. Top man.
I'd be the first not to talk about the subjective stuff like the looks, but damn man, you sure nailed the front description. I also can't get over it. I have no idea what they were thinking. Then again.. I'm not a big fan of the looks of the Z1000SX either.. but I'd gladly ride any of these 2 bikes as I'm sure they're amazing.
They should not have called it GT - It is a comfy solo rider sports bike with wich you can also handle qiet longer distance comfortable. I own a black one and Iam happy. The engine is a beast and soooo smooth ❤ One con I did not find in any review yet, is the cruise control. When pushing minus it brakes way to hard / rough. So its just good for holding the speed ... I had so many bikes and every one had good and bad sides , there is no perfect one. THX for the review and ride save ✌
I have to agree with you Andy in regards to pillion comfort and lack of top box .Heated grips id wack a set of R&G premiums on it and maybe a set of bark buster hand guards .
You hit the nail on the head; great bike but the basic let down of a touring bike can't include a poor pillion seat and backward grip rails. Just imagine the other half having to hold on to you indefinitely or maybe it is a cool marketing ploy to encourage togetherness?
Yep you nailed it totally agree I walked in to look at one with my wife she took one look at that pillion seat and said no way I'm getting on that . Looks like multistrada 950 then😁
Now that the touring bike market has been cornered by mid-life crisis executives and their adventure bikes, it's really cool that some manufacturers keep making some sport-touring bikes with some real sport (and real fun) in them. Only this one and the Ninja 1000 as far as I know, I hope they'll sell great so that and I can keep riding those to my last breath.
There are plenty of others! BMW R 1250 RS, Ninja H2 SX, Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello, Kawasaki Concours, Yamaha FJR1300. Even more if you include sport tourers with upright ergos like the BMW S1000XR and Yamaha Tracer 900. If sporty comfort is what you want, we have plenty of options these days.
The GT, SX and S1000XR are the only inline-4s left in this category. The BMW is a different kettle of sorts. FJR and Connie are discontinued. No interest in V-Twin, Boxer or P-Twin engines.
Zx1400 or GSXR Hayabusa both with LSL Rising bar conversion kits would make good touring bikes you'll have the best of both worlds you able to tour the country or go out on drag on weekends and blow your little punk ass buddies off and their GSXRers I have the Hayabusa the nice thing about that bike nothing ever goes wrong with it I never do any maintenance I got 37,000 miles on it just go out and ride it comfort sleeping doing 140 down the highway incredibly stable bike. And it even handles fairly well.
I’m definitely interested in this bike, personally I’m not a fan of centre stands, think they are often bulky, ugly looking things, add weight and I’ve never really found it that inconvenient to do your chain, especially when I’m touring with mates who can quickly,y lean it over on the side stand. Top box. Never. Ugly ugly ugly.. upset the balance of the bike. Suzuki always make a sweet handling bike and there’s a reason they’ve not added top box mount. Use a tail pack if you need extra storage and a large tank bag. Those panniers are big enough for a week-to 10 days away easily. Screen and grips are a disappointment and I’d love to see active suspension on there as well. Haven’t seen one on the flesh yet, but so far I like the looks
I thought they did the one light thing nowadays very deliberately, as in very low light conditions car drivers were pulling out of side junctions on bikers coming down the main route & riding with both side-by-side lights on, with the car drivers not realising these *were* bikes, and thinking instead, because of perspective, that they were eg cars far enough away for that they'd get out of the side road cleanly before the 'other car' passed.
I was in the shop and saying the exact same thing regards to the headlight! Apparently it's for safety... so at night if you were over taking the on coming traffic won't think it's a car in the distance! With the lights being so close together it could appear that it would look like a car in the far distance..so the oncoming car wouldn't think to slow down.I know Yamaha and triumph Tigers run both this is just what the salesman said ,sort of makes sense until you think others run both...sorry about the novel 😊
Firstly Andy I would just like to say that you are as professional as they come with no faffing about and boring bit's.. I always appreciate your reviews...Grovelling over😅... I've had the GT for about a month now my thought's.... Don't likes: Noisey fan kicks in very quickly when at a halt but I suppose that's the price you pay for euro 5 inline four with catalyst... Bit to much weight on my 67 year old wrists.. Seat is quite hard...Lights could be better imo not really that bright or good range at night..Tyres not very confidence inspiring in the wet. Brakes could be a touch sharper. Likes : Absolutely everything else engine, gearbox, quick shifter, wind protection from the elements, handling and smoothness.. You should be on TV with your own motorcycle review show... Cheers 👌 (Don't think this bike could have a centre stand because of that catalyst positioning 😢).. Thanks, Mario..
I love the idea of this bike. A sport bike with handle bars is soooooo up my alley. I love the look of sport bikes but just don't get along with clip ons, even higher mounted ones. It's why I moved on to a supermoto, still fun but with more comfortable upright ergos. However there is one additional issue with this bike that I have that you didn't mention, and that's the rear preload. Why oh why is there no remote preload adjust on this machine? The Kawasaki has one and frankly imo any and all touring machines, however more to the sporty side of things they are slanted towards, should have a remote preload adjust. It is just unacceptable to me for this bike not to have it. I also despise the asymmetrical headlights too. If they can address at least the rear preload (and add a freakin' center stand, seriously), I'd keep it on my short list for the future.
Had mine ordered, managed a test ride and found the same, screen useless as a touring screen, rode it in 6deg c and my head frozen with wind blowing up my chest and into my helmet. Took my mrs 10 mins up the road and it was a definite no from her! Whilst I don’t do a lot of 2 up travelling let alone touring, the pillion seat was enough alone to put me off since my mrs basically said she wouldn’t go with me for anything other than a half hour ride let alone for a tour anywhere. GT cancelled and back onto a Ducati Multistrada V2S….. incredible bike! Have to agree, having owned a 1000f, the engine is an absolute peach, one of the best motorcycle engines ever made! Pity the stuff bolted on around it put me off completely 🤷🏻♂️
Ordered mine after a test ride, perfect sports tourer for a fast rider. Heated grips on order from Daytona with integrated switch, shock will get swapped out for an adjustable one over the winter. £3k down and £112 pm on 3% pcp. What more do you want?
Another top review. I like the general look of the bike (that’s a stunning blue tone) but whats with the general trend for projector style headlamps? It ruins the ‘face’ in my opinion. I suppose at least it’s not as ugly front on as the Tracer 9.
Morning, In Canada when you order the touring pack we get the Suzuki optional touring windshield as standard.....makes the bike look terrible in my opinion...great review I may add..
My dealer said Europe prefers a-la-carte and Canada prefers packages. So my black one on order since Dec has the touring screen and panniers. But thank you to you year-round UK reviews to heads-up to order the heated grips and start looking for a paddock stand in advance. Greatly appreciated
Great review as always Andy, and for those here not just to listen to your dulcet tones but actually considering the bike. .... then do check out the Ninja 1000SX. Has some of the same issues (eg no Centre Stand), it is heavier and down on HP, but is a far superior bike in almost every other aspect. If you're a Suzuki fan, then you'll buy this bike and you will be most happy with it. But in this budget for a bike more sports than touring, then the GSX already feels out of date!
There are several (now) comparisons and it seems they top each other depending on the tester. For a more sporting ride, it's the GT. For a more relaxed experience, it's the SX. What's interesting, though, is the GT's ("old, outdated") engine seems to have leaped to the top of its class: great, linear power and noticeably smoother than the SX's. And the quick shifter - a major interface with the machine - is one of the best out there. Comes down to personal preference and physical fit. Neither would disappoint.
How do you propose they make a centre stand standard when there is no room under the bike to mount one? I understand the desire and that people want Suzuki to do something new from the ground up. However, that particular thing will basically require a new bike from the ground up. Nevertheless, I would also like to see the OEMs come up with some means of getting a bike all of the way off the ground for wheel removal that can fit unobtrusively on the bike when not in use. Snap Jack's are interesting, but I think I'd like to see something like a bar that could be inserted somewhere as a lift point that standard jack or small pneumatic jack could lift from. If pneumatic, the same pump cld be used to put air in a patched tire (or just when low).
Your comments are all correct, however you referee to it as a touring bike and that is the root of the problem! It is NOT a touring bike. It is just a more comfortable super-sport bike for commuting and daily use. You will never take this bike &and passenger and go around the country in relative comfort. Even though this bike is marketed as a “sport-touring “ it is 80%sport and max. 20% touring. I’ve owned the previous model GSXS1000F for 5 years. I sold it as it was really unpleasant to ride with a passenger on longer trips.
Thank you. I was ready to buy one, but the issues that you pointed out would be the issues that I would not be able to live with. I have the money to replace my 2003 Triumph Trophy but cannot find anything that makes as much sense. FJR1300 too heavy. Kawasaki 1400 too much power.
Thanks very much Andy. I'm glad you show and test the sort of bike riders are seriously looking at purchasing and not just the latest "RR" rocket ships. I do like this one but I've yet to find a rotten Suzuki in the modern era. :>)
I like this bike Andy but I find myself in total agreement with what you say the pillion seat is little better than pathetic really and the fact that you can not have the matching top box is frankly daft .I think Suzuki jus got a few things wrong which surprises me somewhat . Good review as ever Saludos : D
Modern chains do not need to lubed. Center stand would be nice for packing gear, but then the Stat shoppers would be upset by having 10 lbs more than a competitor.
Great review. Personally think that Suzuki missed a great opportunity to excel here. No lean sensitive, no heated grips, poor pillion seat, defective front headlight ! 😂. Think that all of these should be standard on a sports tourer. I would certainly be willing to pay extra for them to be included.
Kawasaki’s execution of IMU is adequate at best. IMU is frivolous anyway. Heated grips are available as a Suzuki accessory. Pillion seat is adequate but certainly not ideal. What defective headlight? Good luck finding a 150hp machine with touring features for 13 grand.
To me this is a good choice for a solo touring bike. Not everyone has a second person to ride along. I personally don't like having a big box above and behind, and one can always add a soft bag that sits on the passenger seat if more storage is needed. This might make a good daily commuter and occasional touring bike. I would say that that category fits a lot of riders. I appreciate that you rode the bike for a week before commenting on it. Thanks for an excellent review!
I'm not sure about the heated grips cripe. What touring bikes at around this price comes with standard heated grips. Tiger rally pro but rode it and fell asleep! Don't think the kwak has them ? Tenere? Desert x? Aprilia? All options like this. I rode this bike and laughed the whole ride as I enjoyed it so much. Makes adventure bikes feel like a Honda jazz 😂
I know it's been a while... Have you ridden the Yamaha MT-10? I need to make a choice between the GT and the MT. I DON'T need the side cases, (I have an FJR for that), and I won't have a pillion rider. I'm seriously considering the MT-10 (SP), as I have a small-but-sufficient bit of cash suddenly. I also own a modded 2000 Bandit 1200 which I have been across the US AND done trackdays with, but that bike is getting long-in-the-tooth. So, looking to compliment the FJR with a slightly sportier "over-night tourer". Any experience for comparison sake?
The kawasaki is in it's 3rd generation of that bike. Riding the 2 back to back that is clear. Centre stand, no where on the frame to put one with enough load capacity. Great review as always.
I think Suzuki hasn't got up to speed on "sport touring" machines., for the same mentioned reasons. I've had 14 bmw s-rs flavors which were all S.T. leaning towards the Sport side. Not a RT guy.!! Never been a problem for a single guy, would be if I got married again though. The R9T's being a"retro" bike mimicking a /5 had to reset the tripometer when fueling. Having had one I enjoy "the basics" of doing this. Only an older gent that had the original would appreciate a lack of this feature. Sorry to disagree with you on the fuel gauge issue. My bicycle doesn't have a fuel gauge. When my body runs out of gas hopefully I'm close to home.LOL. Enjoying all your videos. 👍👍🏍🏍🏍🙋♂️
Looks like you could investigate the video quality of your videos because eventhough you use good cameras the youtube content looks not too good. Looks like there is some compression added when you export the movie from your video editing software maybe? Just have a look at other gopro videos and you'll see by yourself. Other than that thanks for your content, keep it up! :)
For me, any bike carrying GT in the name should come as standard with at least heated grips, cruise control and possibly QS/Blipper....although I can do without the QS.
It isn't a touring bike...it's a sport-touring bike so the pillion seat shouldn't be considered a problem or the lack of a rear top box etc! also the rivals considered are debatable
Funnily enough I've just got back from a test ride on one today... It's a proper weapon.. goota think of some flipping good reasons not to swap my V-Strom 1050XT for one! 🤦🏼
I've ordered one, as I mostly ride on my own. So the pillion or top box wouldn't bother me. It was the gearbox, and engine that sold it for me. I like the looks, and with phone connectivity and cruise control, its just what I'm after.
Congratultaions baz - enjoy the bike!
Totally agree with the engine. I have had my gsxs1000f for nearly 5 years. before that it was a gsxr k5 1000 for 4yrs,and before that a gsxr1000 k4 for 4yrs. Just a stunning motor!!
GSXS1000F is probably the most tongue twister name that's ever been used, and there are some crazy names out there. Great bike though.
Probably one of the best big Jap 4 engines of all time. Also loved my pre-Vtek VFR800…
Couldnt agree more!

I think a smaller guy would be quite happy on it. I’m 6’6” so me not so much.
I agree 100%
There's something wrong with that TFT display, when you get to a certain speed it goes blurry.
You probably should get that looked at
I agree 💯 the tft screen has lines going up and down / blinking on the gsxr 1000 2022 mc also the honda Africa twin 2019-2021 motorcycle cheap tft screen.
It's just the difference between the refresh rate or frames per second captured from the camera guys, probably nothing wrong with the TDT in real life
Guys it's just a running joke on TMF channel, as he blurrs the screen when he rides above the speed limit.
@@mickeypopa hahahahaha how naive, I fell for it...thanks
@@mickeypopa No sh!t Sherlock.
To me the comfort of a touring motorcycle isn't just about the seat and handlebars, it's also about the closeness of the footpegs and the angle of the lower leg. I have an adventure bike with a 90° knee angle and mainly because of that it's so much more comfortable than my old sports tourer (for me ;)
Very true!
I ordered at GT and couldn't be bothered to wait 5-6 months for delivery, I'm not disappointed with the new 1000F I bought instead 😁still the same great bike without the frills!!
(I actually prefer the 1000F)
@@TheMissendenFlyer completely agree 👍
@@TheMissendenFlyer Interesting, in what way? Looks?
It does seem crazy that things like heated grips, too box, center stand aren’t offered on this? I guess Suzuki would say that not offering them keeps the price down, but what’s the point if the competition do va similar price? The Kawasaki just seems like a no-brainer in most comparisons. Just my opinion but I like the looks. Nice review. 👍
Couldn't agree more with the cons. Perhaps on the Mark 2? The fact that Mrs TMF was unwilling to be tempted onto the back says a lot. Suzuki should be listening.
Spot on.
Happy travels 👍
Thanks for watching as ever!
Thankfully the positives represent the quintessence of the bike!
Thanks for the review Andy, you did a great job with the review.
Thank you - I appreciate that!
Glad you are enjoying the bike Louis!
Great video as usual Mr Flyer!!
As an aside, isn't Great Missenden a beautiful little village. Many many years ago, I brought the kids to the Roald Dahl museum there.
I just sold my GSX 650F for a Sprint GT. you’re more than welcome to take that for a spin Mr Flyer. I think you’ll be impressed!👊🏽
Glad to help!
The one headlight thing has roots in safety and I’m mostly sold - two lights are easy to confuse with a distant car as opposed to a closer bike. I had a Ducati 848 that worked the same, you learned who were busy bodies pretty quickly. 😜
Love the sound of that 4 cylinder engine, very soulful .........Sal : )
Indeed it is!
I love yur content and cons and pros and your absolutely right both headlights should be on. Why short change visibility. Keep going missenden
Thank you Tony - appreciate that!
Nice review. Looking at the US web site shows that an optional touring windscreen is available. Looking at most 1L sport tourers I would say that they all lack pillion comfort.
So great bike for 1 up touring but back end needs sorting. I like the looks and the engine should be bullet proof for long runs.
Great video as always. Was interested in this initially but it's at the back of the queue now
I have a deposit on one in the US.
No remote pre load adjuster is poor on a bike at this price that may well be regularly ridden two up on occasion. Nice review!
Great job. The center stand and the top box. If it had it would be a best seller. Keep up.
@channel, Telegram users👉 themissendenflyer Thanks. Here I am. :)
Good review TMF. Many positives. Only negative is no live stream.
Sorry about that....gremlins this end...
Top man.
Andy you didn’t talk about the Suzuki my spin app and the connectivity to your phone , you can play music and get maps up on the TFT I believe
The engine is a beast and soooo smooth ❤
One con I did not find in any review yet, is the cruise control.
Depends whose on the back, a member of the Swedish Ladies Beach Volleyball team or your hairy mate! 😂😂
How many tour two up anyway? I wouldn’t have the weight of the misses and the luggage anyhow
Lots of people do 2up touring; you leaving the wife at home??
I've got this bike and my wife thinks the grab handles are good. She just wishes I warn her when I accelerate briskly because the engine is a peach.
@@adammoore9088 I add a narrower category in mind tbh. Not a fan of big twins, upright riding position or 300 kg bikes personally.
Fair do’s! Thanks for watching!
Great review. Definitely seems to be aimed at 1 up touring.
1 up touring is fine with a center stand and some weather protection (either windscreen or heated grips), a bit of a pain without all those things.
Suzuki do a touring screen which is 70mm taller and looks like it kicks-out at the top to help push air up and over.
Yes both lights should be on just to satisfy my OCD, the panniers are about 1k extra on the base price you quoted though. Still a nice bike
Nice bike but I took your advice and bought a ZZR1400 with full luggage a bargain price these days.
I always hear this reason trotted out - I don't buy it personally.....
Wouldn't a hydraulic rear preload adjuster be nice for one and two-up riding?
In this era a touring bike not having heated grips and centre stand is absurd.Cheers.
For the money, that's debatable, particularly because of the level of performance it has. Get a paddock stand and order the optional grips!
In my opinion, if the K5 GSX S1000GTA was readily actually, it would be one of the best “retro” bikes available.
Totally agree on the pillion provision, this is a complete deal breaker for me, or rather the mrs.
Cheers 👌
(Don't think this bike could have a centre stand because of that catalyst positioning 😢)..
Thanks, Mario..
Thank you for watching and for stopping by!
Good pros and cons review.
Doesn't look like there is space for a centre stand with that huge cat underneath the bike
Thanks to Euro 5
Unless you are 2 up often or vary cargo loads you really don’t miss a remote preload (I don’t). It was set it and forget it for me.
What a shame David! Oh well, the Multi isn't a bad second best!!
@@TheMissendenFlyer I def feel like the winner lol
Ordered mine after a test ride, perfect sports tourer for a fast rider. Heated grips on order from Daytona with integrated switch, shock will get swapped out for an adjustable one over the winter. £3k down and £112 pm on 3% pcp. What more do you want?
Another top review. I like the general look of the bike (that’s a stunning blue tone) but whats with the general trend for projector style headlamps? It ruins the ‘face’ in my opinion. I suppose at least it’s not as ugly front on as the Tracer 9.
I agree...
Morning, In Canada when you order the touring pack we get the Suzuki optional touring windshield as standard.....makes the bike look terrible in my opinion...great review I may add..
Thanks for the info - wonder why they choose to do that?
My dealer said Europe prefers a-la-carte and Canada prefers packages. So my black one on order since Dec has the touring screen and panniers. But thank you to you year-round UK reviews to heads-up to order the heated grips and start looking for a paddock stand in advance. Greatly appreciated
Excellent Video.
Very good recapitulation of the pros and cons!
Thank you!! 👍
Can you say something about the fuel consumption?
Great review as always Andy, and for those here not just to listen to your dulcet tones but actually considering the bike. .... then do check out the Ninja 1000SX. Has some of the same issues (eg no Centre Stand), it is heavier and down on HP, but is a far superior bike in almost every other aspect.
If you're a Suzuki fan, then you'll buy this bike and you will be most happy with it. But in this budget for a bike more sports than touring, then the GSX already feels out of date!
Yes tht Kwak is a very popular bike, for good reason!
Not really, all I takes is a creative bread box design. It's not like nobody's done it so far... 🙄
It,s a really good bike .I put a comfort sadel on mine and its get even better😊👍
Lovely bike, but you were spot on with everything wrong with it.
Glad we concur!
Thanks very much Andy. I'm glad you show and test the sort of bike riders are seriously looking at purchasing and not just the latest "RR" rocket ships. I do like this one but I've yet to find a rotten Suzuki in the modern era. :>)
Mr. Bruce Willis, your British accent is excellent 😂
Too few “sports tourers” have low screens! I would like it a few cm even shorter! (I got turbulent wind on my helmet, 175cm tall).
Sucks how that shade of blue is not available in the US
I like this bike Andy but I find myself in total agreement with what you say the pillion seat is little better than pathetic really and the fact that you can not have the matching top box is frankly daft .I think Suzuki jus got a few things wrong which surprises me somewhat . Good review as ever Saludos : D
Modern chains do not need to lubed. Center stand would be nice for packing gear, but then the Stat shoppers would be upset by having 10 lbs more than a competitor.
Yes i imaginbe that's one of the reasons for the centre stand omission...chains not lubed, since when???
Hello,
Nice video
and what about the avarage consumption ? What is the reel autonomy ?
Good - glad you enjoyed it!
Yes I have reviews on here of the MT10 - check em out!
Other reviewers have said that the bike is too low geared in top and revs too high at highway speeds. What did you conclude when riding the bike?
The kawasaki is in it's 3rd generation of that bike. Riding the 2 back to back that is clear. Centre stand, no where on the frame to put one with enough load capacity.
Great review as always.
Sure it's an old engine, but said engine being from one of the most legendary superbikes ever doesn't hurt :)
Very true!
Looks better then any other touring bike TBH
I disagree - but we all have different preferences!
i have a gsr750 this will probably be my upgrade
Would you go for this or the tracer 9gt if you had to pick? My other bike is an mt10sp an love it!
I’d go for the tracer I think….
Check out my more recent videos for better quality - thanks for watching.
Nice 1 TMF
Why is the tft lines going up and down on the screen when you're riding the gsxr 1000gt 2022 Suzuki motorcycle
Always wonder why you never mention the make of tyres fitted to the bikes you review,
The no center stand situation is probably just to save some weight on the spec sheet.
Agreed!
that doesn’t matter if it’s an optional extra!
I would want cruise control on a touring bike with a blue tooth connection for the phone. For GPS and music. After all, it's for touring?
I learned to ride on a 450cc for about 6 years. Do you think this would be too much for a second bike? BTW I think it looks peachy.
I think you’d probably be ok….
HOST: #1: the Light is a DOT requirement #2: Rear paniard is not advisable aft the aft the rear axle... its physics
“Pannier”
Even yamaha mt 10 offers a three bag touring option very simular performance too
Everything is going to be an option, just a matter of time when you have to pay for the wheels....
For me, any bike carrying GT in the name should come as standard with at least heated grips, cruise control and possibly QS/Blipper....although I can do without the QS.
Why is the tft dash blinking on the Suzuki 2022 motor cycle please respond
Interference with the GoPro frame rate I suspect
It isn't a touring bike...it's a sport-touring bike so the pillion seat shouldn't be considered a problem or the lack of a rear top box etc! also the rivals considered are debatable
Been thinking about getting a touring style bike that doesn't mind being a bit playful, although I'm not sure how she'd be for a new rider!
If it's your first big bike maybe a little too powerful I'd say - maybe your second bike....?
Good value for the money.

Funnily enough I've just got back from a test ride on one today... It's a proper weapon.. goota think of some flipping good reasons not to swap my V-Strom 1050XT for one! 🤦🏼
Go for it!!
