When she asks about which of their characters should be in therapy, and it came around to Norman, I suddenly imagined what it would be like if his character sat down with Gabriel Byrne's character in 'In Treatment...' as a parody. That would be pretty funny.
This is such an interesting panel but the interviewer really needs to up her game - I can't watch the rest of what could have been an abs brilliant roundtable
That's a weird thing to say. If it were that way no one would notice the interviewer. But I notice her off-pace all the time. Don't get me wrong... I'm already jealous of the composure she exercises and her daring to really react to responses... I wish I could do that in any situation. But there's still cutting-off-answers going on, for example. When Margulies talks about modern life's digital connectivity (~ruclips.net/video/5GDvqKgtRGU/видео.htmlm30s) ... it seems Villarreal either does not know how to reply or had sort of pre-scheduled a new question to be there now... either way... it's feels very much like a cutting off. And I don't care if it was on purpose or not. It shouldn't have happened. It messes with the flow, inhibits possible awesome replies. A good round-table interview is (if it has to be one:) a power play that isn't experienced as such. But here... I'm aware all the time of the central player. Puts me off. Don't want to know that she's there. Just want to love her questions. Did not get the chance to have that. So I disagree, especially with the "sensitive"/"adapting" compliment.
MsESilverFox I have to respectfully agree with Marianne Jaffke . I think the interviewer should be invisible, and only push discussion when needed. I have loved other round tables they've done, but I was almost done after the first damn question when she answered her own question with "overwhelmed" and expressed her issue with massive amounts of television, when the rest were discussing the topic of the evolution of TV. All positive answers about one subject, and she gives a negative answer about a different subject... She's there to lead the discussion, not participate.
Shepsus I have to agree with this, the interview was just straight up uncomfortable and "not good" from the get-go. I'm not even 10 minutes in, skipping through and its quite unbearable. This interviewer is trying to be a stand-up comedian kind-of playing with the audience, rather than an actual goddam interviewer. I'd rather they'd place the questions on a piece of paper and let the actors discuss them together without the interviewer. I'm going at length about this because these are some goddam fine fucking actors and I love their work and the parts they play. The interviewer seemed to just waste their air...
Shepsus exactly we want to here the opinions of actors not the moron interviewing them. You are right after the first question, Its frustrating that i just don't want to watch this because of the weird feeling of disorganized interview. however, i still want to know what these guys have to say.
The Hollywood Reporter roundtable that actually had Vera and Julianne again at the same table along with 3-4 other actresses was far better. I think there was also Claire Danes, Jessica Pare, Sarah Paulson, and Keri Russell - makes for a pretty darn talented and not too shabby looking table I must say.
Damn Liev might be the age of my father plus he is not even that clasically good looking man but he is such a manly man just pure testosterone why all men cant be like this???
The point of this is ridiculous. Ask the writers those questions on what their characters would do.. For god sakes, ask them what it's like being part of a hit series and challenges and wtf moments, just about anything that makes sense!
I would also prefer them talking about their techniques and struggles, rather than their fictitious characters. I'm only 15 minutes in and had to pause it to check the Commenter's reviews.
I know its not necessary but a little spoiler alert would have been nice. Fortunately I was caught up on most of these shows but not all. Something like spoilers of Ray Donavan S1, Bates Motel up through S2, etc. Wouldn't be as upset if I didn't have The Hollywood Reporter roundtables to compare this to. I mean her questions are as if she's asking the character and not the actor. Would have been nice to just have the actors converse without those questions. Luckily the talent did a great job making this worth it
MrBigturboweenie I agree. I was really happy with not only the questions she asked, but also how comfortable she seemed asking them. I can't understand why people are complaining.
BadassRandomness They probably don't see TWD as something with quality just because it's a zombie show. They are so wrong, we as public know that at least.
Yup, while TWD is laughing because they have the most viewers. ;) I don't watch the other shows because it's all so normal. The only thing I am interested in at this table is Mad Men and Bates hotel. But TWD is just so totally different which makes it a million times better because they are on top with something which was always seen as bad horror movie monster, and they can make it on top in the drama category while also have the most exciting action and horror. It's the best of both worlds and everyone is watching for something different. I like the gore but love the interaction of humans who change in such a situation.
Suzanne Niemeijer Yeah, the only reason I watched this roundtable was because of Reedus. I love TWD, one of my favorite series at the moment, and of all time too
Yes, I've always bounced from favorite TV show every month or so and was never interested in the zombie genre. Then I decided to give it a shot and it's been my favorite since then and that was 2,5 years ago. I also only watched this because of Norman.
Yikes. When actors speak without a script. Always scary. Except for Ms. Fermiga, an exception that proves the rule. Next time please, just let her talk. The others have so so much to learn.
YayaJada I heard he was in rehab recently, and then was not surprised to read he had a pretty sad childhood. Probably explains his detached/distant demeanor, and he doesn't even seem to try to fake being happy.
Yeah I read that too. That's what makes me think of him that way. I mean, it's an easy assumption to make- really too easy given his childhood. I wonder if he had reservations about the role... it really was a dangerous risk for him to take by playing this part. He does it well, but at what cost? Jay Brown
Yeah and the fame/money must provide temptations that a normal job wouldn't. I wonder if Mad Men ending will be a good or bad thing for him emotionally, if the career opportunities don't come. It's a shame he wasn't allowed to do Gone Girl.
the interviewer just ruined the whole video, whole thing seemed like a first day at school interview. I.e. name one thing we might know about you, its annoying.... how can you ruin it, so many interesting things you can ask
This interviewer was terrible. Over used the word “like” and asked this brilliant group the dumbest questions. Julianna Margulies is a self important ice queen
Some the camera shots of Schrieber and Margulies were horrific- they were framed in-between the heads of the other people. The back of Hamm's head loomed hugely in the foreground and there would be a sliver of Schrieber's face. Pathetic.
+Rachel Bruce Don't argue with her. She is always commenting on Walking Dead stuff and saying it's bad... apparently nothing better to do then watch something she hates.
Norman Reedus is in his late 40s and still can't string words together to form a coherent ENGLISH sentence... PLEASE STOP SPEAKING IN SQUIRREL!!! Where are Andrew Lincoln, Steven Yeun and Danai Gurira when you need them???
Theresa Castillo He is not as articulate as the other actors and I often thought "where is he going with this?" but in the end he always made a valid point.
Norman's voice... so good.
Amazing group of actors. Usually with these roundtables it's a mixed bag.
Vera just can't get away from Norman haha
I need one of these roundtables with the good wife cast
Good interview. On second viewing just skipped to Hamm's answers but it's still good. Hamm is the most talented actor here and deserves huge success
When she asks about which of their characters should be in therapy, and it came around to Norman, I suddenly imagined what it would be like if his character sat down with Gabriel Byrne's character in 'In Treatment...' as a parody. That would be pretty funny.
That would be an amazing therapy arc. Norman is so funny and it could go in some interesting territory.
This is such an interesting panel but the interviewer really needs to up her game - I can't watch the rest of what could have been an abs brilliant roundtable
I think Yvonne the interviewer does a sensitive job. She has interesting questions and listens and is intelligent so adapts her questions in response.
That's a weird thing to say. If it were that way no one would notice the interviewer. But I notice her off-pace all the time. Don't get me wrong... I'm already jealous of the composure she exercises and her daring to really react to responses... I wish I could do that in any situation.

No idea what you're talking about. I guess maybe if you watched it in full instead of skipping through...
Veraaaaaaaaaaa
Ya Vera is amazing. Well rounded. Great actress.
i'm watching this just because of her❤
Vera is so wonderful!
Watching because of her.🥺🥺❤❤❤👍👍😁😁😁
@@thenamybanana same
It's kind of strange to watch Jon Hamm on interviews like this one. He's a funny and candid guy when interviewed in a different environment.
Liev is meant to play Ray Donovan.
Best character ever!
8.50 Juliana's like "I despise you"
Julianna is the best ! Fabulous & brilliant artistry!
I love the interviewer be she's REAL -
This reporter felt really unprepared. I was bummed with this beginning
Lizzy Caplan and Jon Hamm have the sickest chemistry
Great Job Done The Interviewer
hamm talking abt the lego movie like he did made me love mad men even more, id watch it all the time now, lol he's awesome :)
Adding to the problem with the obviously young and inexperienced interviewer: calling the group "you guys." Unprofessional and disrespectful.
for fuck sake,i felt all of the will to live draining out of me ,and that was after a few minutes of this...
Love vera farmiga.❤❤❤
Damn Liev might be the age of my father plus he is not even that clasically good looking man but he is such a manly man just pure testosterone why all men cant be like this???

schreiber and Hamm should do a movie together.
popeye697 - Schreiber should do a one-man burlesque show.
I know its not necessary but a little spoiler alert would have been nice. Fortunately I was caught up on most of these shows but not all. Something like spoilers of Ray Donavan S1, Bates Motel up through S2, etc.

They are an amazing! Lizzy Caplan is one of my favorite actresses. She's so talented, clever and beautiful.
This "TV Reporter" though...the actors look as unimpressed with her as I am...
Sam Walters what'd she do that was so unimpressive other than ask questions and let them speak?!
MrBigturboweenie I agree. I was really happy with not only the questions she asked, but also how comfortable she seemed asking them. I can't understand why people are complaining.
Maybe if she could learn how to speak without inserting the word "like" into her phrases every 30 seconds, she would sound more intelligent.
Norman Reedus probably was begging Jon Hamm between breaks to jump on board with The Walking Dead as Negan. Man he would be perfect.
I love Julianna! When she killed the bug :D
I'm here for Liev. He's so amazing.😍😘💋
Here for norm. ❤️
Only interested in Reedus.
I feel like they are ignoring Norman all the time...
BadassRandomness They probably don't see TWD as something with quality just because it's a zombie show. They are so wrong, we as public know that at least.
Suzanne Niemeijer Yeah, it annoys me...
It seems like the others think they are better than him and TWD...
Yup, while TWD is laughing because they have the most viewers. ;) I don't watch the other shows because it's all so normal. The only thing I am interested in at this table is Mad Men and Bates hotel. Like thats so Like interesting Like that my DVR is so Like full that Like its so Like frustrating for me Like as a the reporter for Like TV.
Here Liev and Jon
Yikes. When actors speak without a script. Always scary. Except for Ms. Fermiga, an exception that proves the rule. Next time please, just let her talk. The others have so so much to learn.
Jon Hamm seems depressed/difficult to converse with, looking down and going off on his own tangents.
Yeah I get this sinking feeling that he isn't too different from his character... maybe things hit too close to home.
Was this around the time he went into treatment?
He watched Damages on his phone? Philistine!
so Paul Marks and Laura Peterson met before
the interviewer just ruined the whole video, whole thing seemed like a first day at school interview. I.e. name one thing we might know about you, its annoying.... how can you ruin it, so many interesting things you can ask
I've barely started watching the vid and i already knew the girls getting shit on in the comments
Read the comments about the interviewer and felt ppl were being a bit harsh. Then I watched it and understand. This woman is intolerable
This moderator is a prime example as to why the LA Times is rapidly going to shit.
the questions she asked in this were kinda lame and her energy brought me down.
Terrible interviewer! Didn't ask good questions or follow up question.
Wait did she just say Lee-ev?
This interviewer was terrible. Over used the word “like” and asked this brilliant group the dumbest questions.
Julianna Margulies is a self important ice queen
Some of televisio
Some the camera shots of Schrieber and Margulies were horrific- they were framed in-between the heads of the other people. The back of Hamm's head loomed hugely in the foreground and there would be a sliver of Schrieber's face. Pathetic.
Why does she keep nodding her head.
Terrible interviewer...needs to learn that word "like" is a crutch. She sounds childish.
what is Norman Reedus doing anongs real actors?
Go watch him in "Floating" and you'll see why.
+Rachel Bruce Don't argue with her. She is always commenting on Walking Dead stuff and saying it's bad... apparently nothing better to do then watch something she hates.
Suzanne Niemeijer im a big fan of TWD both comic and show but Norman Reedus is just not so good at acting thats it
norman is very talented gtfo
Lol the interviewer 35:32 what a skill to interview
Yvonne is beautiful...
I would just like more diversity... most are all white... the ones with poc seem to have the same few over and over. Represent.
Yeah I've only just started watching and I'll be surprised if any of the actors bring up the fact that they're all white.
Norman Reedus is in his late 40s and still can't string words together to form a coherent ENGLISH sentence... PLEASE STOP SPEAKING IN SQUIRREL!!! Where are Andrew Lincoln, Steven Yeun and Danai Gurira when you need them???
I agree. Andrew Lincoln should've been there instead.
Theresa Castillo He is not as articulate as the other actors and I often thought "where is he going with this?" but in the end he always made a valid point.
GooferDusty I find a LOT of actors are mush-mouths and it really makes me appreciate the writers so much more.
+Theresa Castillo Plus he has horrible hair. What is it with that hairdo?
he's got a beautiful way about him, maybe your mistaking uniqueness for in eloquence.
Juliana Margulies looks skeletal in this video. What a terrible choice of dress for that skin-and-bones frame. Too bad.
Bad interviewer.
I’ll skip to Vera’s parts
