Bella is also connected to Christina via Melanie Lynskey (Both are on Yellowjackets) Helen plays against - Han Solo himself in 1923 Even Jeremy - Zero Dark Thirty connects him to Joel Edgerton (Owen Lars in Star Wars) AND Chris Pratt (Star Lord in MCU)
“will”? Is. Bella to me honestly is the first person since Heath Ledger that has that late 70s/early 80s Jack Nicholson undeniable onscreen “it” factor.

Jeremy strong is a beast of an artist and came here solely for him but this is such a top-tier group i just can't help but give them all equal attention
I agree, I can't imagine the joy, intimation in a good way, feeling slightly nervous, excitement and fangirling Bella must be expierencing surrounded with such legends, they are a rising new young star with starring in GoT, The Worst Witch, Catherine Called Birdy and now in the Last of Us, wish them nothing but the best
Idgaf about those that want to say Jeremy Strong is too intense as an actor or his method style is annoying. I think he's one of the greatest actors of all time, definitely one of the greatest I've seen in real time
‘One of the greatest actors of all time’!? Where on earth do you get the evidence for this? JS is a fine actor but you seem to have bought into his self-serious ‘I, the great actor’ schtick. He delivers a very plausible account of Kendall Roy’s manic-depressive personality, but how many lead roles has he played besides that; has he tackled the great classical theatrical roles on Broadway or the West End? He may become one of the greats but so far he hasn’t had the track-record and it is far too early to tell.
@@johnricercato740 Firstly, the original poster prefaced their statement with "I think," meaning it's just their opinion that Jeremy Strong is one of the greatest actors and they recognize that. Secondly, nobody is trying to claim he's "one of the greats" - they're just saying that he IS great, schtick or no schtick. The idea that an actor has to tackle the "great classical theatrical roles" on big stages like Bway and the West End to prove that they're talented is an antiquated way to judge a great actor. Don't get me wrong, I love classical theatre and acknowledge the complexity of those legendary roles, but if we're talking about acting as an artistic skill and not just someone whose name will go down in history as "one of the greats," Jeremy Strong will never need to play one of those roles. I think he already has, through Kendall Roy. He portrayed Kendall with an emotional depth that is larger-than-life yet undeniably real and natural, which is the impossible task of every classical actor when they get onstage. With Succession's endless Shakespearean qualities, who's to say that Kendall Roy isn't up there with the famous theatrical characters, tragic heroes, and morally complex figures just because it hasn't been written into history yet? I honestly don't know what to make of his "schtick," but it's worth noting that, in this interview in particular, he's very open about how challenging acting is and despite his seriousness, he's not trying to seem like some great actor. Sorry for the paragraph, I see where you're coming from and respect your opinion, just wanted to share a counter-argument.
@@johnricercato740 he one of the top 3 actors working today with potential of one of being to become one of greatest of all time without a doubt ,he is just not fine actor he is more than brilliant actor ,and become this generation danial day Lewis ,sorry of the long post ,peace out👍
@@lexiebrent7090 Not sure whether you read the post I was responding to? ‘I think he is one of the greats’ as the OP had id sounds rather like ‘trying to claim he is one of the greats’! Secondly, I didn’t cite merely the great classical roles, but referred to leading roles generally. He just hasn’t as yet the track-record to be considered great - and however well he played KR (and he did an excellent job) the role was far simpler than you appear to realise. It was essentially: Kendall is on the up, gets hubristic, falls down and into depression, rises up again.(Repeat ad infinitum) It wasn’t as complex a role as that of Tom, and nor did it require the sheer power that the role of Logan demanded.
All of these people are absolutely incredible people and talents, but I cannot imagine how humbling and honoring it would be to sit at a table with the absolute class and grace that is Sir Patrick Stewart and Dame Helen Mirren
I have been a fan of ‘The Last of Us’ since the first game released on the PS3. Ellie has been my favorite fictional character of all time since. I was so nervous on who’d they cast as Ellie. Turns out I was nervous for nothing. Bella was the PERFECT choice to play Ellie. Through their performance I’ve learned things about the character I thought I knew everything about. Well done, Bella! Shame on anyone that makes them feel like they don’t “fit” the role.
The writing and editing of the show let the audience bond with Ellie along the same progression that Joel does. First the toughness, then the smarts, then some moments of wonder in episode two, then some brilliant stuff at the end of episode 3 starting to show real range and depth. (Note Ellie's demeanor while she waits for Joel to make his decision about her after arriving at Bill and Frank's. Making herself as unobtrusive as possible, actually obeying his "stay here" for once, moderating her tone, mimicking his "I can't believe I'm doing this but OK let's get to work" exhale - she's not perfect at reading Joel but she's well on her way for knowing him only about 48 hours.)
The panelists’ choice is just amazing… They all bring their own stories and experiences but at the same time they all share a similar view on acting as a whole and that contributes to making the conversation flow in the most organic way ❤️
The 13 year old in me who obsessed over Havana Nights is so happy to see how far Diego Luna has come. Such success for him ❤ Also, Christina Ricci, you will always be famous.
Bella has earned the right to be at this table. Bella has spent half her/they life as an actor. My estimate is that Bella has lived in hotels during movie and TV shoots for nearly three years. Bella completed secondary school after a day of acting and did their homework in a cars and trains on the way home. Bella was away from family and friends for weeks at a time. Bella has a wonderful mum and dad that have supported this journey. At merely 19 years old, Craig Mazin called Bella's amazing talent as "nuclear". And he is right. Bella Ramsey--right now you are the light in the darkness.
THIS WHOLE THING WAS ADORABLE- "you are the light in the darkness".. Bella is and will most definitely become such a talented actor, their passion and maturity is amazing.
She has also had to deal with more appearance based prejudice and cruelty than the usual pretty faces on the big and small screen. Idk where she gets the strength.
@@lukasribin4168 And it's even more ridiculous because gamers know Ashley Johnson (original voice and mo-cap actress) IS Ellie and she doesn't resemble the character. Yet there is a similarity between how Bella and Ashley look. The important thing is that Bella represents a good version of Ellie and they do far more than that. They ARE Ellie as well now. And they will be fantastic portraying Part II of the game.
Excellent host. Quietly personable, well-prepared, and had interesting questions. And this group of actors melded very well. (Sweet of Jeremy Strong to mention Brian Cox as one of his favourite sparring partners - BC has been a bit outspoken about JS’s method, but Jeremy nobly didn’t let that influence his opinion.)
I feel like Cox has always been hugely enthusiastic about Jeremy (and he is again in the most recent "Actors on Actors" with Emily Blunt), he just also admitted that his method is not the same as Jeremy's. But he has said many times how much he likes and respects Jeremy and how talented he is. I just think sometimes reporters have latched onto Brian saying he personally works differently to create a drama that isn't there.
Humor has never played a huge part in Ricci's performances throughout her career, but she's always shown the ability to be hilarious in a unique and non-traditional way in films like Addams Family, The Opposite of Sex, Pecker, Pumpkin, Anything Else, and now in Yellowjackets.. but her being funny in those roles doesn't mean she's not giving a serious and well rounded performance..
I love this kind of show. So much talent in a same room and so many different paths in their respective careers, age gapes and experience, just sharing their common passion for acting. At least a truly interesting way to allow actors to speak their mind about their work and not the classical entertaining TV show with a 5 minutes race for promotional purposes.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Great conversation to watch although i would have loved a little bit of insight between Patrick Stewart and Helen Mirren both of them being well accomplished stage actors and the upbringing Diego Luna had since childhood in theater. 😊
I like this format better than the actors or actresses round table. It's fun to have such a mix of characters in one setting talking about their varied approaches and methods. Plus they're just funny AF
I still can't get over Jeremy Strong's mesmerizing performance in Succession. As I watched, I couldn't stop thinking that literally no other actor would do as well as he did to play such a complex character like Kendall. In my opinion, the series certainly established him as one of the best actors nowadays. I hope he gets more recognition for his relentless talent and takes home his second Emmy.
When Bella was talking about the fan backlash when they were cast as Ellie, I was hoping Sir Patrick would chime in after to talk about the fan backlash he and the TNG crew received back when they were announced. Because there was a _lot_ of it, even without the internet or modern social media.
Misty HAS been my least favorite - for storyline reasons, not actor reasons. But whoa did the latest season finale turn that around. The last moment with Walter had me really intrigued and Christina (and Elijah) just turned on a dime. Will they be as "ride or die" as Jeff is with Shauna? Great work by Christina.
@@Laurel_Ellenstreet i just wish the adult storyline was as captivating as the wilderness stuff. it's not even close. but it should get better now that the lame adam martin storyline is done.

10:38 The paragraph Jess Armstrong wrote to set the scene is astonishingly beautiful and poetic and powerful OMG!!!
To the left of Bella is Sir Patrick Stewart who was in Logan, which was heavily influenced by TLOU. To the right of Bella is Diego who is a friend of Pedro's and also in the Stars Wars universe just like Pedro. I like how everyone is connected one way or another.
Bella is also connected to Christina via Melanie Lynskey (Both are on Yellowjackets)
Helen plays against - Han Solo himself in 1923
Even Jeremy - Zero Dark Thirty connects him to Joel Edgerton (Owen Lars in Star Wars) AND Chris Pratt (Star Lord in MCU)
Bella Ramsey will get big! They’re such a natural!
Such a wonderful person as well.
“will”?
Is.
Bella to me honestly is the first person since Heath Ledger that has that late 70s/early 80s Jack Nicholson undeniable onscreen “it” factor.
@@LtFrankDrebin100they’re not as well known as Heath Ledger lmao why are you so upset when it was a compliment
@@vph7 yeah true, not very many people watched Game of Thrones or The Last of Us…
Who said I’m upset?
@@LtFrankDrebin100 if you asked anyone on the street who Bella Ramsey is without clarifying what roles they were in then they would have no idea who you were talking about. If you asked anyone on the street who Heath Ledger is, they would absolutely know. I think you’re confusing talent with popularity.
I don't about bella ,but sure Jeremy strong can be at the level danial day Lewis
Jeremy strong is a beast of an artist and came here solely for him but this is such a top-tier group i just can't help but give them all equal attention
I really like these mixed roundtables where we see male, female, and nonbinary actors all together!
i prefer to just think of them as people instead of box labels
@@penoyer79 I prefer to think of them as teaspoons. And we are all free to do so.
I agree, I can't imagine the joy, intimation in a good way, feeling slightly nervous, excitement and fangirling Bella must be expierencing surrounded with such legends, they are a rising new young star with starring in GoT, The Worst Witch, Catherine Called Birdy and now in the Last of Us, wish them nothing but the best
she knows what she’s doing
Same
Jeremy is outstanding. The best actor nowadays. He deserves win the emmy. Another level of performance!!!
He can be Danial day lewis of this generation
@@johnricercato740Chill, life isn't a meritocracy
Also, Bella Ramsay went head to head with the video game Fandom, and came out on top, they are unstoppable.
When Jeremy said he doesn't normally watch TV and films to decompress, but he did watch the Last of Us :)
patrick stewart gives such wholesome grandpa vibes 🥹 and his voice is incredible!
5:16 Sir Patrick asking Bella questions and listening so intently to the answers is warming my heart, he’s so respectful and kind to a young actor
Making herself as unobtrusive as possible, actually obeying his "stay here" for once, moderating her tone, mimicking his "I can't believe I'm doing this but OK let's get to work" exhale - she's not perfect at reading Joel but she's well on her way for knowing him only about 48 hours.)
bella is so much younger but so mature and well spoken it makes me so happy and i adore her!!
The way Patrick just BEAMS at Bella. So delightful! He seems thrilled to be speaking to them.
The panelists’ choice is just amazing… They all bring their own stories and experiences but at the same time they all share a similar view on acting as a whole and that contributes to making the conversation flow in the most organic way ❤️
Helen Mirren saying Dodgeball is her favorite movie is *chefs kiss* perfect
The 13 year old in me who obsessed over Havana Nights is so happy to see how far Diego Luna has come. Such success for him ❤
Also, Christina Ricci, you will always be famous.
I adored Diego in Y Tu Mama Tambien.
Patrick Stewart is quite taken with Bella, and love how Jeremy Strong is like "You're incredible in that scene" matter-of-factly.
This round table is better than some of your past ones. Where one actor monopolizes most of the discussions. Good job, host!
Love Diego and Gael!! 👏🏼🙌🏼 We need to see you guys act together again! 🫶🏼
Also loved this panel! 👏🏼👏🏼
They have La Maquina coming up
@@gaelgarciabarchive oh nice!! 🙌🏼
Possibly the best one of these to date. Lovely panel, lovely discussion.
He's a gentleman. Love him❤️
I feel like Cox has always been hugely enthusiastic about Jeremy (and he is again in the most recent "Actors on Actors" with Emily Blunt), he just also admitted that his method is not the same as Jeremy's. But he has said many times how much he likes and respects Jeremy and how talented he is. I just think sometimes reporters have latched onto Brian saying he personally works differently to create a drama that isn't there.
“You were incredible in that scene” being said in an incredible way☺️
LEGENDS AT THIS TABLE and mini legends omg, I love the age rage for this one.
i can tell how enthralled Patrick is with Bella…. it’s very sweet seeing that.
i will watch absolutely any interview with Jeremy Strong in it
Here for jeremy strong ❤
Me too! 😉❤️👍🏻
Same😊
Just wanna say Christina Ricci is an ICON. She's weirdly humble and awkward in an endearing way. Just hope she knows she makes the sun shine.
Each of them is so passionate that’s very moving !
Thank you! I really wish the conversation was longer, it's SO good!
This is the best roundtable I've seen.
Bella if you’re reading this, we all appreciate You and you as Ellie!❤ you will be flying high bestie! good luck
I love this table. I want to host them for a dinner party for more stories. And all the love and respect for each other is amazing.
Diego Luna!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🤩The one and only!! Loved this round table!
Bella’s giggle throughout was so endearing, I love them
I love how Patrick turns into the host 😂
One of the best roundtables. There were all so nice.
It's nice to see other's do actors roundtable besides THR. This selection of actors is very fan favorites
Thanks for this Roundtable it was great.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Great conversation to watch
although i would have loved a little bit of insight between Patrick Stewart and Helen Mirren both of them being well accomplished stage actors and the upbringing Diego Luna had since childhood in theater. 😊
Christina Ricci got her long overdue recognition!!
I like this format better than the actors or actresses round table. It's fun to have such a mix of characters in one setting talking about their varied approaches and methods. Plus they're just funny AF
im super excited to watch this, bellas outfit looks so great
So informative and a great panel of different backgrounds. LOVE Helen Mirren btw. I feel like she’s so underrated, oddly.
Excellent.
The Ellie joke at the end by Bella is amazing. I love that one too.
When the 1923 popped up under Helen Mirren, for a second I thought it was her birth year so we would have context for everyones age lol
I think it and everyone was great. I love all of these actors.
I love the way Christina was listening so carefully to Bella, it was so sweet
When Bella was talking about the fan backlash when they were cast as Ellie, I was hoping Sir Patrick would chime in after to talk about the fan backlash he and the TNG crew received back when they were announced. Because there was a _lot_ of it, even without the internet or modern social media.
Christina Ricci is the best thing about Yellowjackets. What an odd and compelling sociopath Misty is.
her younger counter part is every bit as captivating (IE that scene where she talks Ben off the edge...). that entire cast is loaded with powerhouses
@@Laurel_Ellenstreet sure, Walter is Misty’s soulmate, no question there. they match each other’s everything
They are all fantastic, but you know it's the writing and direction that really facilitates the greatness in the actors.
Loved Bella in TLOU and Jeremy Strong in Succession, both masterful performances...the very best acting I saw last year.
Only here for Bella😭😭
I could watch 2 more hours of this. EASY.
Great moderator as well.
Beautiful conversations as always
omg yes!! Diego Luna watching Flight of the Conchords to relax ahaha love that
Will you do a showrunners roundtable too? What I'm really asking is will we be able to see Bill Hader in one of these this year 😃
Bill and Glover would be great
Helen Mirren’s favorite movie being Dodgeball is my new favorite thing ever.
Wow what a great group of great actors from all ages. This is amazing
Came for Patrick. Stayed because there was a nice chemistry. There was reverence for the elders. And a light tone set by them
Bella is so lucky or should I say have worked so hard to even just sit there with the 2 legends. Let alone her insanely intelligent answers & maturity is just off the charts. 👏
Patrick taking control of the show in the beginning 😅 such a legend
Every time Patrick addresses Bella specifically is amazing.
My entire life has been validated by Dame Helen Mirren also having to watch Dodgeball whenever it's on.
I am here for all. Love to see connection with people like HM and and PS, for Bella with everyone it must have been amazing, the question you could have asked!!!! 🤯
Thanx for this wonderful panel and talkin' obviously there's a cehemistry between dear Mr. Ford And Helen Mirren, sometimes some people understand each other way easier, well, tv shows like yellowjacket are so important in my opinion because those sort of productions might offer new opprtunities for some young and new potential talented actors and perhaps they might become the stars of the future. sincere love & respect from Turkey, you guys rock.
