That foreshadowing for Stotlemeyer... That was a terrible storyline for him. They never let him catch a break. He wife was AWFUL and then his girlfriend was a murderer.
I'm sorry, but you can't honestly go out with someone, intend to marry them while fully knowing they are a in a very demanding job and expect them to stop doing their job. A police captain, hell even a regular police can't just turn off their job.
(in my Chris Treager voice) Sarah Silverman is literally the best (in my Chris Treager voice) i always forget how obsessive/something else this episode, at least she wasn't psychotic/murderous. She would've been awesome as a student/future successor. She would've been awesome with a spin-off, where she's great at being the next Monk only in the first season she gets most cases wrong ( just slightly) then she stumbles on a clue that points towards the real criminal
Couldn't he just have taken both of them? One is loyal and paid. The other is a huge fan and free. That's what I'd have done, and remembered to watch out for the nutcase.
