Psych Synopsis: "PSYCH" is a quick-witted dramedy about a young police consultant Shawn Spencer (James Roday, “The Dukes of Hazzard”) who solves crimes with powers of observation so acute that he’s convinced Santa Barbara PD detectives into thinking he's psychic. Raised in Santa Barbara by a family of cops, Shawn possesses uncanny powers of observation honed by his police officer father, Henry, who drilled young Shawn to note even the smallest of details from his surroundings as a way of grooming him for his inevitable career in the family business. I absolutely loved 'Shawn Takes a Shot in the Dark' he was so serious which was very strange and the way he got himself out of that situation was spectacular
that one is great. But also when he says I love you and Juliet almost says it back before he says Abigail is just...ouch

@@doctorsuave I think I still prefer East Coast (even though it probably meant Clizby wouldn’t get to see his son 😔), but I understand the appeal of wanting Dr. Khan as the killer too, especially since he’s Christopher Lloyd.😉
I still laugh at the Highway Harry as the murderer one too since he wouldn’t stop saying horrible things as they’re taking him away, like he’s trying to get the last insult in.😂 (It’s on the director’s cut version 😊)
The one where Shawn was at the gas station, man Henry realizing instantly what Shawn meant - yeah pops is a fucking G. They are great together on screen.

I love how the risotto congealed into a cake mold. Most. disgusting. risotto. ever.
Thats what happens with risotto, when cooled or lacking in liquid it sticks to itself. For a more accurate restaurant level dish it should have been 90% cooked, then at the kitchen thrown in a pan with more stock until it is both hot and fully cooked. Though not super possible with the quick switch the killer had to do.
I always appreciate “cloudy with a chance of murder” even Lassie was pulling for Shawn on that one, in his own Lassie way.
When Shawn brought the T. rex head into the morgue everyone thought Shawn officially lost it! 😂
I don’t blame them. They’ve seen some weird things. 😂
This first seasons were really good in the sense of crime solving not just comedy
Agreed, the later seasons (post the Yin and Yang finales) focused more on comedy and less on crime solving.
I respectfully disagree. They had plenty sophisticated crime solving you couldn't see coming in later seasons.

“An Evening With Mr. Yang” will always be Shawn’s best detective work IMO.
I thought the very first one was the most memorable. The way they jumped around and were all happy and surprised that they actually solved a real crime. That was pretty hilarious
I always like to refer to this as "The Breakdown" - the sweet spot for me is when an episode had a good Breakdown (explaining the crime) and "Takedown" (stopping/incapacitating the bad guy) whenever they managed to do both a take down and breakdown at the same time, it was usually awesome. 'A Very Juliet Episode' comes to mind...
That's what makes Psych so good, they do that a lot

intersting that "Cloudy with a chance of Murder" is on the list seeing how psych thought this episode wasn't written as well as it could have been so they re-did it.

I actually liked the episode. I didn't see it so bad it needed a rewrite and re-release. I guess I was in the minority on that though.
@@MyHazey nah I really loved both of these episodes. Can't tell you how many times I rewatched them and laughed every time. The weather names where the best!

i watched 9:56 as a kid and maggie's performance here really moved me. I always had a crush on her and hearing her heart break really makes me think about the people I love.

Restarting the show is a bad idea. That would ruin it. If it kept going, it would have the same problem as Grey’s Anatomy. Still running, but now just a shell of the former show because they ran out of ideas and are milking it for profit. All good shows must come to an end, otherwise they’ll end up with a reputation of “it was good for a bit, but they ran it into the ground”
They’ve already lost the greatness of the show with the films. They aren’t even as good as some episodes 🤷♀️

One with the murder in restaurant was amazing. Shawn first suspects a cook then his dad arrives and tolds him he is not murderer. Shawn pretends to give him some money and then points to real killer.

Henry knowing what shawn meant by jist hearing windchimes shows he would have been more successful but he chose to sepnd more time with shawn and raising him in only way he knew.

Last night Gus was my favorite episode
The risotto episode made my friend cry from laughter he got hooked on to the show since the pilot episode.
I prefered the first two seasons because of exactly that. First two seasons were peak Psych. Shawn solving and explaining the crimes in spectacular style was what made me fall in love with the show. For the police, very often a case was closed with the first, obvious suspect, but Shawn usually remained skeptical. From season 4 or 5 onwards he switched from one suspect to another, it became much more messy. Remember how he thought Larry was Yang in the last episode of season 4 ? Never would have happened to season 1 or 2 Shawn.

The episode is “a crime of fashion” but yes there were most definitely episodes in the first 2 seasons where Shawn wrongly accused more than one person.

Larry? Larry? WTF? Merry. And it was a tragic death. The show is more fun when Shawn's first guess turns up dead, but not that time.

One of my favorites was from black and tan a crime of fashion it was the most unique anti climactic ending and was so funny

My favourite episodes are
First in which his father got shot and woody was constantly coming with body bag to check LOL
Second in which lassie got married to Marlowe
Third in which Shawn became a Spanish actor.
The episode were his dad got shot is one of my favorites because it is the best answer to the question of "what if Shawn used his full power instead of his usual 75%?"

I always wondered why Shawn didn't say the girl he met was Jules instead of Abigail in "Shawn Takes a Shot in the Dark" I feel like at that point he definitely had feelings for her and could have definitely played it the same way
True....but I think he knew he should say Abigail in the call so that Jules would get it was all a clue, not an actual goodbye, love you call.
Not saying Jules isn't smart enough to figure that out, but you saw her face. She thought Shawn was really saying those words until he said Abigail.

The courtroom one is one of my favorite episodes.
The most memorable episode was the dinosaur episode. it's strange because there were better episodes, i just remember this one so well.
We need a few more movies or another run of the show. I can only watch these so many times.

Probably my favorite of the series. He gets shot and kidnapped, the team have to retrace his last steps to find him. Pretty badass car chase scene at the end

Also the car scene has the iconic line from Shawn: "I have been SHOT I am jumping onto SOMEONES CAR." after both Gus and Lassie freak out about Shawn jumping on their cars.
I think i prefer 100 Clues' other ending where Dr Marty Krane did it

I know folks say that 'Cloudy... with a Chance of Murder' is a slow episode, and not the show's best work.
But dang if the solve isn't top-notch.
Which is why they decided to redo it.

Cloudy with a chance of murder was entertaining, but not realistic. The judge would have been obligated to stop the questioning and advise her of her rights once he realized she was being acused. Additionally, Shawn was testifying, not questioning.
