Monk Synopsis: Adrian Monk (Emmy®-winner Tony Shalhoub) was once a rising star with the San Francisco Police Department, legendary for using unconventional means to solve the department's most baffling cases. But after the tragic and still-unsolved murder of his wife, Trudy, the devastated Monk becomes obsessive-compulsive. His psychological disorder has caused him to develop an abnormal fear of virtually everything: germs, heights, crowds... even milk. Monk's condition costs him his job, but he's back as a police consultant despite the unique challenges he encounters in his everyday life. These challenges lead Monk to hire a personal nurse, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram), who is always there to offer her assistance, even with the simplest of tasks (like organizing his sock drawer). Her less-than-subtle prodding keeps the "defective detective" on track in his investigations, as well as in his efforts to convince Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) to allow him to return to the force.

In this episode someone was killing Julie Teegers all over San Francisco. Natalie (Monk's assistant) had a daughter named Julie Teeger (she is the one taking the driving test in the video). Several times throughout the episode, Natalie hears that an attack was made on a Julie Teeger and freaks out, takes the captain's brand new car and totally wrecks it. I hope this provides some background for those asking.

Aside from Randy dressing up as the suspect’s mother, I laughed so hard when Monk had to have an emergency session with Dr. Kroger in the middle of the night and Monk asked if his wife has Tourette’s.😂😂😂
I remember watching Randy having to deal with the guy while dressed as the mother the first time. It was hilarious.

This was posted on my birthday yesterday. Thank you for the 9-minute surprise, it was entertaining. I love crime scenes and mystery shows. That scene where the girl drove the car like crazy was funny, she was afraid of that man!
Love that Randy came up with the "Terminator theory".
POV: You're a driving instructor teaching a young girl, Julie Teeger, how to drive. She's doing okay. She gets a call from her mom, and you chastise her for picking up her phone during her test. She puts it away. Shortly after, a man in handcuffs starts chasing the vehicle you're both in, screaming her name. What do you do?
A: Tell her to keep driving to elude the screaming man, calling the cops in the process.
B: Tell her to pull over and get out of the vehicle to confront the screaming man yourself so you can distract him long enough that your student can get inside the building safely and call the police.
C: Completely ignore him, and constantly scold your student for ignoring the test and instead drive around the lot to save both you and herself from the screaming man.
I mean, it seems clear to me he's not a murderer, and what is he going to do, knife the car open? I guess she wouldn't think of that.
We know Natalie just wanted to make sure Julie was safe but did she really have to wreck his car???

This was one of the best episodes of Monk in my opinion. Another one was "Mr. Monk is on the run".
The cop with the sniper rifle would never have taken the shot; his backstop was the girl and the driving instructor.

The thing is, he would’ve had better odds of getting away with it if he hadn’t killed the other one. Because the link that they made would’ve never been found cause the police would’ve had no reason to even ask the other one unless she came forward
A person dead. On its own, the spouse would automatically be a prime suspect. Would have been a matter of time to find he had an affair and put him behind bars.
But the very fact that 2 people with the same name got killed, and then another one with the same name had someone crazy chasing them, made it more complex.
Since Monk does not take place in the real world, it is possible that their driving tests have different policies or the instructor has more discretion.
I seriously hope that *_no_* driving instructor in the real world is as oblivious as this guy...

Well, there certainly are some people who are that unaware, but if there is even a single _driving instructor_ as oblivious as this, not only he, but everyone around him (who _should_ have noticed and reported how bad he is) should lose their driving licence immediate, with zero chance of ever getting it back...

I know that it is just 🙄supposed to be a television show🙄, but some of the plot scenarios insult common sense and strain credulity..

A lot of elements of "Monk" work exactly _because_ we can assume that it takes place in the "real world", the writer(s) rely on the audience watching the episodes under that assumption. Using a character like this "driving instructor" breaks that implicit agreement. It's effectively the same as if they had put an alien in his place and declared it to be a crossover with Men in Black...
I liked Randy's Terminator theory.
I should go back and watch some of these seasons again. It’s been a while

I don’t think Matthew Teeger hated his mother Juliet. I actually believe that he really did love his mother. Plus, when he found out that Julie had the same as his mother, he thought it was flattering. That is why Matthew gave his lucky rabbit’s foot to Julie, to make sure Julie is well protected and nothing bad happens to her. 🙂

Julia was in on something to ruin me from medical defamation to personal life smears and had people stain my reputation also blocked me from going home when my uncle. Called about how je was hatrassed by a fed sbout my late sons ashs. Then someone stole the ashs crom Shirley's house. Then they stole my birth certificate and ID.
this is stupid -- she would have immediately failed when she pulled out the phone -- and the line about "they're trying to kill me -- they're only cardboard" -- dumb -- why didn't she just say that many is stalking me and ask the instructor for help

ALSO, in reality if the address on a package is unreadable it would have been marked “return to sender”. There’s no way they just send it to someone else with the same name. How would they even get her address?
