Andre looks like a GREAT training partner. He knows he's better at grappling than Israel. You can see many times when he chooses to disengage/ engage based on making Israel work harder and learn more. This is how rolling should look.
flow roll should look*
That's how we roll. You are learning a lot more imo and what's important, you won't get hurt or less.
this is how rolling should look when it is appropriate cause sometimes it should not look like that ffs, things are not this or that, it depends on what you want to achieve. You are not going to roll like that if you are preparing for a competition.
Thats what a good professor does to his students. Gotta let THEM work.
do you roll?
Galvao is the type of guy you would want at your training camp. His control is amazing and he went in there knowing the proper way to push Izzy without overdoing it. That's some master shit right there
steroids vs steroids.
@@Teddy-se8qb If you had a professional educate you on the perfect steroid use to become as athletic as possible, you still wouldn't make it even close to either of their levels
@@PangziMan thats nice. still juiced out of his mind.

@@PangziMan so being a steroid abuser doesnt mean shit in professional combat sports?
My dude galvao smiling the whole time lmaooo that’s scary
Makes sense, grappling an mma fighter is like playing catch with a dog. You know what’s going on but they just respond.
Lmao even while Izzy had a decent squeeze on that guillotine, he's just there grinning like he's on a rollercoaster. He seems to be really great partner for Izzy, always pushing him to work for everything but never quite giving him anything fully
What is scary is they gonna test Izzy for PEDS before the fight
Totally. Galvao is a beast love his vibe man what a legend.
@@hagestad you crying over a fight that happened months ago is also kinda scary
3:55
Perfect demonstration of what training to learn should look like. Galvao could sweep easily but just taps Izzy's leg to say "this is what would happen, so think about your next move" this then allowed Izzy to transition into that slick triangle. This is some golden stuff from both of these legends.
Absolutely.
man izzy is much better than this guy on the ground, izzy could have submitted him easily but he didn't want to
That is not a triangle lol
The legs are crossed over the wrong side. He needed the left hand in and legs crossed over the neck not weist to be a triangle.
@@epifaniaem1s714 Trololol
@@filthypirate It's not a successful triangle, but it is an attempt. I don't know what you mean by the legs being on the wrong side, they're not.
Love how Galvao matches his pace.
That's right way he is not trying hurt him. He's super strong definitely on roids as none BJJ test
He could sub izzy in heart beat but same as iz standing would murder
DRE KNOWS MMA Izzy is on roids too. But yeah Galvao is just playing atm. Izzy has a good skill set

Dude went easy on izzy
Gotta respect Israel.. Always takes risks and looks for the hardest fights. A champ who is exciting, dominant and active.. Very rare and should be appreciated more.
Very true but I wish he wasn’t so disrespectful of others and do childish antics like pretending to rape costa while he’s knocked out. He is a likeable guy I just wish he didn’t choose to act like a prick so often.
@@prandz420 costa started it so thats all him
@@prandz420 lmao he wasn’t pretending to rape him he was humping him the way dogs and wolves do to each other to show who is dominant. He also pretended to piss in the cage. He gives respect to his opponents when they show respect and disrespects them when they disrespect him. Also, it’s possible that most fighters “act out” because that IS what sells to the masses. At the end of the day I personally am here for the skill and fun fights, but I don’t mind all the trash talk as I’m not even sure if it’s theatrics or legitimate.
Christian Masina ive followed Israel’s career very closely and Israel has been talking shit about costa since he joined the ufc. I know they both go back and forth but the antics in the cage are too far and a really bad look.
@@prandz420 bad look for who ? Izzy just beening Izzy if you don’t like it then that’s your problem not everyone has to be emotional and shit costa got what he deserved he talked so much shit Izzy just a smarter fighter end of the day
"Try to stay on top" and Galvao instantly does him dirty with the bolo xD
Lol!
The famous : "M'Bollo Bollo" as we say here.... :)
Beautiful control by Galvao. “different level” is correct.
Galvao flows like a river! Thats the difference between just being plain good at something and being world class...Izzy held his own quite well, turning into a complete mixed martial artist!
They were just playing for camera. In the beginning when Galvao had his back and 1 leg locked it was the end for Izzy. Then he released it. It tells me that if Jan gets him to the ground Izzy might not get up.

Nah not really he could've been smoother with his knee slice.. had that been concrete he would've damaged his knee.. jiu-jitsu is about finesse/technique
Galvao was just smiling the whole time😂
Of course grappling a s fun
There's levels to this game. When you're that much better than the guy you're rolling with you're essentially just moving to let them work
Yea I noticed, had me smiling 2!! 😆
Wasn’t smiling when Gordon slapped him
Very humble from adesyanya that he knows galvao is going easy, very nice from galvao to go easy and try to improve adesanyas grappling.
And that's when Galvao realized Izzy deserved a purple beltch
This made me appreciate Izzy’s ground game. He had a complex mind for human competition in my opinion. Galvao would tap me 12x in a 5 min round if I rolled with him. It would suck, but it would be humbling and beautiful lol

Seeing Israel rockin' and rollin' with Andrea totally looked fun like whenever I rock and roll with my instructor he does the same thing that Andre does by going very smoothly and not trying to murder me like anytime I have an attack, my instructor is smart to figure out my plan (mainly since he is a 2nd degree blackbelt) I enjoy rockin' and rollin' with people who don't try to murder me and with people who are close to my age it makes sense for me for a fact

when you're on top of the game like izzy, it's hard to be humble but he really shows character in these gym clips. He knows where he is and he has no ego lying to him. Great work. Excellent rolls!

Learning how to pace and rest the lungs while grappling us something that only happens to people that have done it since childhood. It's like picking up a guitar at 25, you may become okay, but you'll never be great. Same with grappling. Actually, it's the same as striking I'd assume. Just cause guys like jones are effective strikers doesnt mean their striking is tight: he has just found a way to utilize his length and talent, along w the threat of his grappling. Jon's striking doesnt look that great, but because of the aformentioned factors, he can pull off shit, like when he drilled Machida in the chin. Toyota is a better striker than Jon on his worst day, but all the other variables even the table.
Sorry, I'm just fuckin rambling 🤷♂️
@@matthewhorizon6050 anything is more difficult when learned later vs. as a child. It is not impossible, however.
This looks about right for a black belt professor rolling with one of his purple belts, making him work, seeing what his student can do, and of course complete with the jovial Brazilian smiling and laughing throughout. The joy of jiu jitsu!
That knee slice pass was so smooth
I think it’s dope that he is embracing mma in it’s entirety and stepping out of his comfort zone of kickboxing to round out his game with the best people to learn from. He May not be the greatest grappler in history but seeing this makes me have less anxiety if Izzy ever gets taken down.
10 years later, it is Andre Galvao who keeps it playful now.
Israele with all the fame is a humble human being! Very few blokes like him on the block. God bless him!
I'd like to see izzy drill those triangles and have galvao help him secure the tap on those. Izzy w a submission oriented guard would be unstoppable
Or he could specialize in a guard focused on getting up, so that he can continue to work his phenomenal striking in a fight
He should focus on wrestling, train like khabib, this kind of training won't help that much
Hmm Khabib finished with a triangle in his last fight? And obviously izzy will finish any fighter standing up if he has the choice. Just saying worst case scenario if he's put in his back and can't get up right away then having a respected, dangerous guard will go a long way and actually increase his chances of being able to get up and prevent the takedown in the first place and also allows him to throw strikes without the fear of being taken down. He should learn to sinch up those triangles with those long legs against big stocky guys like galvao once he has advanced that far into the position instead of having to flow into the omoplata every time. Your guys mma iq is very low.
Not asking him to be GSP or Ryan hall or khabib. Khabib level wrestling takes a lifetime to develop. I'm talking about learning to finish a fight when you find yourself with one of your opponents arms inside and one of their arms outside, after you've already been put into a weak position unwillingly. Not suggesting he pull guard or imanari to inverted heel hook. Attacks off the back in worst case scenarios that make opponents think twice about take downs and entering his guard. Isn't that why he trains jiu-jitsu? Simple..
@@zachbosworth6139 I mean that he needs to train wrestling to get good at **defending** takedowns, because he might fight with a guy like Khabib and lose by points from taken down. With this kind of BJJ training, he will only know how to work on the ground, but not how to defend throws and etc.
Izzy w the Dance Pass I love so much (must be uncommon everyone is always surprised when I do it, before John Wick even did it) and liking that Front Headlock stuff...
O André Galvão brinca com o Adesanya como se o mesmo fosse um menino. Parabéns aos dois grandes atletas.
There's nothing as great as a supportive training partner, looking to help you get better. This is just a part of the brotherhood and sportsmanship of martial arts. Can hardly wait for COVID-19 to end.
