Im currently sidelined with a broken back and this is the closest I will probably get to a competition this year. 2 minutes in and I have tears in my eyes. I miss it so much. Thank you for giving me something to watch and feel close to the sport other than going to the gym watch and feel left out. ❤
@@cameronsnyder1246 as long as you do therapy right. There’s a chance you’re back will grow back stronger. Do your therapy take it very serious if you don’t then probably a chance it won’t.
@2130dar not completely sure. The back pain has been a thing for years i just sucked it up and lived my life. About a month ago, I realized I couldn't really feel a whole lot in my right foot and decided I needed to get checked. My L4 vertibrae isn't completely connected to my spinal column on my right side and is pinching nerves. Based on the xray I have broken it, healed, and broke it again or I was born with a wonky spine, but by 32 I feel like I would have had issues before this if it was congenital.
10/10 documentary. I fully agree with what Brandon said: “It feels like the end of the first movie”. It’s only getting better and better! Can’t wait for season 6.
The more i see from PGF and what is being built. The more i become a fan, and as a athlete it motivates me so much. That feeling like as a community/sport we are so close to that next level. Hopefully healthy enough to make a qualifier next season, out from dislocation and LCL tear.
Thank you Brandon for making the PGF - I'm very excited to see what the future of professional grappling looks like. I still think MMA is the best route to make $$$ as an athlete but seeing BJJ grow like this over the past few years has been quite exciting.
I love it when my coaches teach me moves I saw on the PGF. It's great to really understand and be able to do the techniques. Such great jiu jitsu in the PGF
Holy shit man! This is amazing content! Keep up the awesome work and pushing this beautiful sport to the world! B-Mac out here making all of us nobodies so proud!
I am down in Mexico filming at my gym to get better as a filmmaker thanks to you Coach. One day I'll be filming for you guys or the UFC!!! This is great for the sport!
Wow this was really well done! This will be great for newcomers to learn about the sport while simultaneously getting to know the personalities of some high level athletes. I'm hoping you do another full length documentary for this next season. Was great to see my teammate Nich Craton on the documentary and I look forward to seeing Max Hanson on the next 🤙
I love the sport. It’s my first time seeing your channel. I’m definitely subscribing and I will tell as many people as I can. I hope it helps. I love seeing someone who is so dedicated to their job, especially when it tries to help other people reach their dream.
Always look forward to every season!Would love to be able to make the weight and get on Roger's team this season. Unfortunately way to heavy and still post opp distal bicep repair. Will definitely be watching though🔥🔥🔥
Fully agree with the no-money thing... Our biggest national tournament is an invitational event, and the prize money equates to around $500. That's enough to make it through a month fairly comfortably, but with gym fees being around $50 at the expensive gyms, expenses add up real quick.
so I'll make it very official...I was WRONG in questioning Trabis Thomas's auction value. To be fair, I'm 1-0 against him on the mats (after hed only trained a few months...and I'm officially retired from that matchup now). Nut Travis was the breakout star of Season 5. Obviously Elijah, Kemoy, and the Rock Troll Maximus Jolly all made names for themselves. Landon Tourville definitely tirned aome heads as well.
I love how these guys go for submissions fiercely and explosively and manage to avoid injuring each other most of the time. It's like they're purposely using self control out of respect for their opponents.
Great video really interesting, excited on how this will progress. Just a hobbyist in the Analytics industry, so if need any free help on that front as you grow please reach out! Al best - James
Money comes from sponsors and fans in the stands. How many people attend these events? I’ve been training for 11 years. This is the first I’m hearing about this.
It has been all regional in the southeast until this upcoming season. We have a $100,000 team prize this year and it'll be in Las Vegas. We tried to keep it small and within budget until we had the idea dialed in, and now we are scaling the model. Season 6 starts April 21 in Las Vegas.
Kemoy showed there's about no way to get his arm up for that head and arm choke. he's a beast and frickin skilled. super tough competitor that showed up that day.
Looks like an exciting development for grappling, I'd personally love to see this done with rules that exclude leg/ankle locks and toe holds so we can save these guy's joints and make for more exciting matches. It seems like this format would be awesome with an alt-coin and some fake betting. Keep it pure, but let the fans show support with bets.
@@brandonmcninja Ahh that's right, I remember you mentioning fantasy league in the vid - but that's a bit more involved than just live betting. I was suggesting a platform that would allow people to show support for a grappler in their next match by throwing an alt-coin down, seeing if anyone wants to take the action.
He is actually grabbing the other guys hand.. the rash guard got caught up in there a bit. I think it was legal… but specifically grabbing the clothes are illegal in the PGf
Because the cost to travel around and train full time isn't realistic. Now people can go to one place for a week where they are actually garunteed money
it's the best jiu jitsu content in the world. watch a season. you will find competitors you really want to cheer for....and they might not even be the winners. you get to really know the PGF competitors. you get buy in...especially if you play the fantasy league
I can tell you it has pros and cons. Like pro I can train every day twice a day when ever I want, con I have zero dollars to my name at pretty much all time
This is the coolest thing I've ever seen in grappling. Thank you for pushing the sport to new heights
Hope these documentaries get made for every season. Good way to see it unfold

The drafting system for that tourney is so sick.
One thing I will say, as much of a personality Elijah is he's not malicious, and isn't out here breaking people's shit for no reason.

Classic tale of not focusing on the battle in front and only looking at the end. Travis should've remained humble and took each fight one by one.
Perhaps Kemoy (the black belt) had a better overtime strategy than Travis (the purple belt)? 🤷🏼♂️

They need to add the pit from combat karate running of the mats and resets suck and sub only final
