Thank you for this “You’ve got mail” adaptation.. I really like Griffins parents. And listening to Griffin paint himself into a corner with Phoebe was very entertaining.
The way you handled some of the plot points that could have become plot holes is Excellent. The explanations about the little letter deliverer and the way Phoebe questions and then answers how her secret friend knows about her moves (it’s London gossip after all) were smart. And I liked how Phoebe doesn’t get offended or irritated by those letters and sets out to “investigate” the truth herself. This one took some time but has moved to my ever growing pile of favorite books written by you.
Thank you so much. Novellas are notoriously difficult in terms of getting everything tied up with so few words to work with. This book is around 30k words. Usually, my novels are 70k!

What a lovely story! It was sweet and charming, loved everything about it. The storyline, the characters, the setting, and the era. The narrator does such a wonderful job that I was able to picture it all in my mind. I enjoyed it so much. And it was the perfect length for an evening of cooking getting a dinner ready for an event. It's a little similar to Dear Clara by Shelley E Powell and Love Letter to a Lady. 🙂 I must admit shorter stories tend to be more appealing to me - easier to get through in one sitting, although I don't mind the longer ones... I just tend to skim a little bit more. 😉 I met my husband in a way similar to how you met yours. Upon joining friends at a gathering I soon heard a loud jovial laugh. One friend said to me, "Oh, that's so and so, you can always tell when he's around, he laughs a lot." And he did, too, which intrigued me, since I was quite introverted at the time. Through our 43 years of marriage I learned myself to laugh more and be more spontaneous - scary but fun! 😊 May God bless you and your marriage!

I love this story. because relationships are numerously filled with confusing acts and comments. Although marriages happen by accident often. It means that to be successful in relationships you must learn to understand or interpret comments and other communications. I study Communications in nature and humans, because "actions speak louder than words'. Mrs. Britton you are gifted to be able to use real life in your work. I find that many novellas tend to give no time for real plot or character development for me. I like a length I can really sink into...like a vacation, so to speak. Having come from listening to two complete series by Lisa Kleypas, which I loved, and One by Mary Balogh, I feared these wouldn't satisfy. Or, be cloying sweet. I feel like I've discovered a new treasure! Thank you for this wonderful tale. Though a novellas, it reminds me of the story between Katherine Mark's and Leo Hathaway in Married By Morning.
Sometimes, a short story is the best story. Sadly, the other authors who put together this series aren't interested in turning their books into audio. But they are very inexpensive to read on Amazon, either by purchasing outright or borrowing through Kindle Unlimited.

I paused the playback and using the provided link went in search of the remaining stories. This leads me to a question I hope will be answered. What happened to Lavinia's story? I saw everyone but hers.

While she has since gone into recovery, her priorities have shifted. None of the others are on audio. The authors who wrote them aren't interested in creating audiobooks at this time. But you can get them all and read them on Amazon. That's something, right? I love audiobooks too much to NOT produce them!

I've toyed with the idea of making them pop up in other places, but haven't found the right spot for them yet! As for the other books in the series, they're written and owned by other authors, and none of them have been able to do narration yet. It's a big financial task for authors to take on.
Yes, I do. And yes, it can be. They're wonderful voice actors, and they belong to a guild that helps them set fair rates for their work. Turning my books into audiobooks is a HUGE investment, but one I find well worth it.
As you, as author, make available your audiobooks on RUclips, do you receive payment from listeners? I've bought many books, in both paperback and audiobook versions so don't want to cheat you of payment for your efforts. Your readers are excellent and your stories beautifully written. Any update on the next books? Have they finally come out on audio....I think this is the second time I've listened to this story... Well, maybe 3rd since it came on my audio play last night 🌙 As I fell asleep. Lol

None of the others are on audio. The authors who wrote them aren't interested in creating audiobooks at this time. But you can get them all and read them on Amazon. That's something, right? I love audiobooks too much to NOT produce them!

Not as audiobooks, but four novellas are available (only on Amazon) written by four other authors, about the friends from the prologue.
I absolutely adore Griffin! Is there any word on the rest of rhe series being made into audiobooks? And will Phoebe and Griffin make am appearance in the other books? (Pretty please?)
I've toyed with the idea of making them pop up in other places, but haven't found the right spot for them yet! As for the other books in the series, they're written and owned by other authors, and none of them have been able to do narration yet. It's a big financial task for authors to take on.

Yes, I do. And yes, it can be. They're wonderful voice actors, and they belong to a guild that helps them set fair rates for their work. Turning my books into audiobooks is a HUGE investment, but one I find well worth it.

As you, as author, make available your audiobooks on RUclips, do you receive payment from listeners? I've bought many books, in both paperback and audiobook versions so don't want to cheat you of payment for your efforts.
