For sure. I spend many hours a day here, we also have a music hall and the library borrows instruments, cd's, music sheets, methods, an more. You have to visit it. Cheers :)
Honestly, that is the most interesting architecture I've ever seen. I make animation, this is the sort of architecture I'd love to model for a video. Ty for posting this!
I'm a book lover myself haha The library reminds me of something in Dr. Strange I love it. You're right the massiveness of this library could only have a whale as a centerpiece.
You're right! It totally looks like something out of Dr. Strange (I loved the movie!). It's funny because, to me, the whale doesn't even look that big in the space because it's so huge but then I remember that IT'S A WHALE haha 😂
Wow!!! you know CDMX better than most foreign vlogers incuding me who's from this megametropolis If you come back to Mexico City in 2020 you're gonna land in a brand new international airport which will be one of the biggest and one of the most beautiful airports in the world I really enjoy your videos Greetings from Santa Monica, California
Hey Ricardo! Thank you and so happy to hear you're enjoying my videos! Wow, Santa Monica is a beautiful place :) I heard about the new airport that's opening and it sounds really cool.
Thank you very much for showing my beautiful country and showing that Mexico is a country much more than the politicians say. I currently live in New York City and every time I watch your videos of My city CDMX I feel great ! and getting closer
Hey Misael! Thank you for watching and so happy you enjoyed the videos of my time in your amazing country :) NYC must be a cool place to live! I've only ever visited and love it :) I fell in love with CDMX and this library was one of my favourite spots.
We're book lovers and were gutted we couldn't see the library. We got there and it turned out they were on day 1 of a 3 day stocktake. We ended up sitting outside with a hoard of locals who were always caught out. Great to see it in your video.
Oh my gosh, that's such a shame!! What bad luck! I'm so sorry you weren't able to go in! Glad you were at least able to get a better sense with the video. It really took my breath away and was such an inspiring space. I've never seen anything like it.
I think a lot of people aren't familiar with it. I hope you're maybe able to check it out on another visit - it's hard to capture in video and is truly the best in person :)
Eileen, I'm delighted with your videos. As Mexico's national living abroad they make me feel closer to my homeland and it's inspiring you enjoy Mexico so much. Congrats!
I'm in love with your videos I've watched all of them in one sitting, well... only those of your trip to Mexico So informatives and the takes are so nice!
Your infatuation with Mexico City is so big and obvious Eileen! And I see myself in you cuz I'm the same way about this city. You've been in Colombia for like a month and you still can't stop talking about Mexico City, don't get me wrong I know Colombia is beautiful but your obsession with Mexico City is glaring! :)
hahah omg Melissa you're so right! This made me laugh because I really did fall head over heels for Mexico City and apparently it shows! ;) I'm glad to hear you share the infatuation! CMDX truly is a special place. And, yes, of course Colombia is gorgeous! xx
Eileen Aldis .. just for the fun of it.. could you please spell Ciudad de Mexico for me?.. you're just too sweet looking.. and funny, sorry I couldn't help it, I just had to pointed it out.. I know, I'm laughing.. I read it 3 times. I thought my eyes had crossed from watching so many of your videos and reading the comments ..
Melissa Adami ....Is because México city is unique , beautiful. , cultural , awesome and any country in Latin America have all this rich culture like Mexico....Mexico is a marvelous country luke no one in the earth
Really? That's awesome! I wonder if she was also in the orchestra that had just finished when I arrived?? I wish we'd been able to hear more of the concert.

I was happy to learn more about the history of the library and its namesake.

New subscriber! Beautiful, however I’m Mexican and I’m shy af, do you know if they ask you for something when you enter?
Hi Alice! It's a public library so you're able to just go in and walk around and use the space. If you want to use your camera, however, then you'll need to sign in with security. I love it there so hope you enjoy it too if you visit! :)
You talk like a pro!!!!!
Thanks, Luis :)
काश! मै भी इस पुस्तकालय मे पहुँच पाता । जोकि बेहद खूबसूरत है,
The central library in my home town of Seattle is not quite as impressive, but it has some cool architecture. So, check it out if you are in town.
I love visiting libraries when we travel so thank you for the Seattle recommendation. Funnily enough, we actually made our first ever vlog in Seattle. Would love to come back again.

digital books?
I've never used the library system myself in CDMX but I'm sure digital books are available online with a user card.
Why does this library remind me of the Mawaru Penguindrum library
