I have lived in Mexico City all my life, but since I started high school I have had to take public transportation (metro, cablebus, trolleybus, metrobus...) And you don't know how happy I am that people from outside the country are interested in our public transport, it touched my heart and thank you very much for making the video. 🇲🇽❤️
I came to mexico when I was only 3 years old From venezuela to Mexico I now live a very happy life and the closest line to my house is the 12 line very good line with a lot of TV and it announces station have relaxing music open gangway and new modern doors When they announce station ''Proxima estacion Calle 11 prepare su descenso apertura de puertas lado derecho'' it also displays on. The Tv's and it haves a light outside that illuminates when the doors open Also. On all lines except for the line 6 have a special model that is rainbow We all mostly call it CDMX because it displays CDMX outside and also it has neumatic lines except for A and 12 Those lines are only metallic wheels. Neumatic linrs are only on Chile and paris (everything I know) and that's my life here Also they have a earthquake alarm The most recent one was a 5.7 one (7 of December 2023) Scary. But good.
Great video! Just spent a week in MXCD and your tips were invaluable. We found the public transportation easy, fast, and clean. A little crowded at times, but no different than any other city. The bicycle system is amazing, we rode 160km over the week, including a Day of the Dead night ride that was a complete blast! Easily the most surprising city I’ve ever visited, great people, food, and culture. Great tip on the cable bus, definitely something to see.
Thanks! We would love to go on the day of the Dead ride! Mexico City is certainly one of our favorite places so far. We plan to check out Puerto Vallarta shortly.
I am so grateful for this video! On a whim, I bought a ticket to Mexico City from Van. I will be there in July for 2 weeks. I thought my city had good transit, but I just got schooled. I’m a solo traveler, and loved learning about the pink seat buses. I noticed some of the words were also in English, so while I am a bit scared of going, I know I can do it😊
The machines to buy and load your mobility card had the option to choose English. It’s hard to beat the view from the Vancouver Skytrain but I’m sure you’ll have an amazing time! Mexico City is one of our favorite places and we can’t wait to return. Be sure to also watch this video to get an idea of some things to do. ruclips.net/video/V8dQSD8fZmM/видео.html
As a local I give you an advise: If you ever come to mexico city avoid using the white/pink taxis (most of them are dangerous) ,instead use uber , didi, etc are 100 safer and mosst of the time cheaper.
I’m surprised you tried Cablebús but not the Suburban train that leaves from Buenavista to other tourist spots like Tlalnepantla Centro nor the Tren ligero that goes to Xochimilco, but great explanation, one of the best I’ve seen.
@@ShouldWeLiveHere Tren Ligero is very good. It is the only remaining line of the original super comprehensive city wide tram system. It has been extensively renovated recently receiving a multimillion dollar investment.
@@oleogabalo And you can pay for Tren Ligero with the same Movilidad Integrada card (the metro one you used all along :) I can take you to a very cool museum (which is currently closed but expected to open again in 2024) called Dolores Olmedo, which is super beautiful for Dia de Muertos! I mean, I've been using this travel method for more than 7 years now, and while yes there's some things I really like... I still live in the State of Mexico and I have to travel 6 hours a day, in reduced bus sits and overcrowded places to my way home, so not everything is as pretty as it seems... I'm still glad we have this public transport, idk what my life would be without it

What a great video from the point of view of a foreigner! Quite venturesome taking the cable bus to the outskirts of the city. I've never done that even when I live in CDMX (although there's no practical reason for me to go there). Thank you for visiting.

Very helpful video, thank you! Do I need to pick up a separate ecobici card from their office or can I just register via the app and then use my metro card to scan at the bike stations?
You only need one Metro card that you can use for everything. Create an ECOBICI account online or on your phone, and then you can link your metro card to it. The metro card has a number on the back that you enter. You then use your metro card at any bike station. A couple times the card didn’t work- I think it may have been because the bike was charging. We just went to the next bike in the rack and it would work.

Thank You Thank You Thank You for this video! It answers so many questions I had. Later in the video, however, I thought I heard you say that you can ride and transfer buses up to two (2) hours on one "pass" (?). Will you explain this to me so that I understand this better? I’m glad you found the video helpful. 😁 You can transfer from one red metrobus to a second red metrobus within two hours of first swiping your card. You can’t transfer a different form of transportation such as the metro or a blue Trolebus or to anything else without paying again.

Transport in CDMX is amazing. Bike lanes... Buses... Metro. I was knocked of my bike there, someone at a red light opened their car door on me, but like any city... Don't be an annoying Gringo, and you'll be fine. Plus don't wear smart watches or rings and make sure to wear your bag like the locals (infront of you).
Local Mexico City citizen here, a few advices if you use the public transport, -metrobus lines 1,2 and 3 can also be paid with any nfc car or digital wallet -if your arrived at terminal 2, do not try to calling any kind of taxi that is not the ones from the airport, for some the reason it's not allowed there -DO NOT USE microbuses, combis and the purple buses, there unrealiable, the drivers drive in a dangerous way and it's quotes are extremely inconsistent -And there is also a "mini metro" line at the south, it starts at the south terminal of line 2
I'm in my 50s in University educated and I still can't figure out how to take transit either Subway or bus from Central to the airport. Or Polanco to the airport. Can somebody help me
@@ShouldWeLiveHere hi. I appreciate the response. I was actually meaning of they had unlimited subway card ( maybe like in NYC which you can use for subway +bus)? Thanks again.
@@mathbyleoHi, the Metro card will allow you to take the MetroBus and the metro subway system. You just get the card and refill it as needed. So you can’t really get just a weekly unlimited card. And you can’t transfer for free from the metro bus to the metro subway. Thanks again for watching! Hope you enjoy a trip to Mexico City….
I don't believe what you said, you really don't know what you are talking about, I can see that it was your first time in Mexico city using all their beautiful ways to transport, also you have to stop talking all the time about "danger". You know that is much more dangerous in many US cities.
What part don’t you believe? My goal was to help other people try to get around Mexico City without a car? Public Transit in Mexico City was far better than expected.
The Public transportation in Mexico City is way safer than NYC system! Wayyy more eficiente than Miami public transportation (where I live) So just for your information! And WAY cheaper too.

-if your arrived at terminal 2, do not try to calling any kind of taxi that is not the ones from the airport, for some the reason it's not allowed there
-DO NOT USE microbuses, combis and the purple buses, there unrealiable, the drivers drive in a dangerous way and it's quotes are extremely inconsistent
-And there is also a "mini metro" line at the south, it starts at the south terminal of line 2
I'm in my 50s in University educated and I still can't figure out how to take transit either Subway or bus from Central to the airport. Or Polanco to the airport. Can somebody help me
Do they have unlimited weekly ?
Yes. For Ecobici here’s the link to your question.

@@BretBallast thanks. That was really useful.
❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Trolley = 4 y 7 pesos, Metrobús = 6 pesos :)
Imagine ppl from the US thinking public transport in Mexico is dAnGeRoUs 😂 they do live in their own bubbles 😂
The only condition for foreings is than not spend many money in mexico for not gentrificate the zone please
…
I don't believe what you said, you really don't know what you are talking about, I can see that it was your first time in Mexico city using all their beautiful ways to transport, also you have to stop talking all the time about "danger". You know that is much more dangerous in many US cities.
What part don’t you believe? My goal was to help other people try to get around Mexico City without a car? Public Transit in Mexico City was far better than expected.
Nos estamos llenando de inmigrantes gringos . ____ .
Ta bien
…
gentrificador.
Naaa
…
No mas gringos que no hablan español.
…
The Public transportation in Mexico City is way safer than NYC system! Wayyy more eficiente than Miami public transportation (where I live) So just for your information! And WAY cheaper too.
Hello my Friends perfec, welcome to MÉXICO city
Thanks for watching! The public transportation there is unbelievable.
In the new video of Britney Spears and Elton John you can see the Cablebus

Mexico city is like a conutry lol
Excellent video, thank you.
Thank you watching! Hope you can use public transportation in Mexico City someday….
