Igorrr is my favorite band, really. I'm not trying to be alternative, I just really enjoy their music and creativity within it. Thank you for giving Igorrr some chances! Althought you didn't listen to their best stuff in my opinion I would recomend you start with the songs (if you would like): Tout Petit Moineau Cheval Viande
I'm also a big fan of Igorrr, and it's funny to see how people have different recommended songs :) To me Himalaya Massive Ritual and Opus Brain are 2 masterpieces, but all their stuff is so different and incredible that everyone will disagree about the best song ^^
For another weirdly great Igorrr track, do check out "Grosse Barbe". There's no official video I'm aware of, but the vocals by Laurent Lunoir are mesmerizing. You can find videos of them performing it live though.
The instrument you were asking about is a traditional instrument called a sitar. It is played in northern India, Pakistan and Bengladesh. If you want to hear more of this amazing instrument, there is a man (and his daughter) who are the top references and most talented instrumentists in the world : Ravi Shankar (the father, deceased) and Anoushka (his daughter). I got to see Anoushka in college, and my mom got to see Ravi when she was in college. I feel very fortunate. Really beautiful performance. I always loved the sound of sitar growing up and hearing it in unexpected places like Igorrr always makes me super happy.
you nailed the analysis, Igorrr is not a genre, it's multiple ones layered into each song,, there's a "base" igorrr sound, some elements you can find in most of their songs, I believe it's Laurent Serres imprint, but every song bring something different. Maybe their most "classical" metal song is Parpaing a featuring with canibal corpse singer George Fisher but even there Laurent tailored a song specifically for this singer he couldn't resist and add an 8bit twist to it.

They're amazing (side projects) EDIT : Laure LePrunenec is a perfect voice and she has an incredibly open mind when it comes to musical genres, I'm pretty sure she'd sing for a punk or black metal band if she thought she'd enjoy it !
You don't need to argue for liking igorrr. You dont jeed to like everyrhing your community does. I hate how people slob knob over certain acts just because they feel like they should. Just like what you like.
