Yeah i do think you're correct, these guys are on par with the best, or at least close. I love nu metal, and the big names like Korn, Deftones, Slipknot are big for a reason but there were some really underrated bands. Mudvayne and Spineshank are some other great bands who never got to the very top, but they are much more well known than Ultraspank. Their whole self-titled album is truly great, and the second album isn't bad either.

Funny twist I'm a metalhead too bro. Celtic Frost, Bathory, Behemoth, Death, Kreator, Dissection, Venom, Maiden, W.A.S.P., Anthrax, Exodus, Sarcofago I mean I could be here all night. Truth is I started out on nu-metal when I was 13. Internet wasn't big yet, I live in the midwest, it was all over the radio and Mtv, just pulled right in you know? I could go on about bands in the genre if your interested too man: Primer 55, Flaw, Spineshank, Breaking Point and Sevendust just to name a few. Once I found out about bands later on like Maiden and Venom, my life in metal and taste changed forever. I still visit these "teenage bands" on and off for nostalgia reasons. Shit never gets old.

I have listened to an awful lot of metal albums over many years, and this is Top Three. A stunning work. The track in question grabs me by the heart and guts every single time and drags me to a place of joy and release. Just amazing. Every festival should be queuing up to put them on their main stage.

The Judas Priest influence is heavy! This is remarkable music. I just stumbled upon this band, and can't believe how good they are.

Two great bands, Exodus would beat a good number of other bands but Sodom are the GOAT IMO.

T-- HUGE rabbit hole here,bro. The keyboardist is Neal Morse. He has so many superb albums not only with this band,but with Spock's Beard, Flying Colors, Neal Morse Band,and solo...it would make your head spin! He's the modern day prog rock genius! If ever there was an artist that could easily break big on the musical landscape..it's Mr. Morse. Alot of his material can reach 'epic' (lengthy) proportions,without a second of boredom even when the song is 20-30 minutes long. A good starting point might be 'The Call' by Neal Morse Band. But there is literally tons of fab stuff.....dive in! T
