I really love this lens, it is one of my all-time favourites but I too found myself not wanting to carry it on my person. I have found a solution however if you get the Peak Design Slide strap and use the bottom tripod mount that they give you to attach the lugs to the base plate area of your camera instead of the normal camera lugs. This then lets you comfortably hang the camera with this lens against your body and you barely feel the weight and you can move much more comfortably. I've been able to walk around all day with the lens without pain or issue. It has the added advantage of the straps not being in the way of your hands when using the camera.
That sounds like a fantastic solution for carrying your lens comfortably. The Peak Design Slide strap seems to be a great choice for distributing weight more evenly and enhancing comfort, especially for long periods. It's also a clever idea to attach the strap to the tripod mount to keep it out of the way of your hands. Thanks for sharing this tip! It might be really helpful for other viewers who face similar issues with carrying heavier lenses.
Great review. I have this lens and agree with everything you've said. I too am not putting down coin for the non internal zooming 16-55/2.8 for the same reason (I chose a Fringer III and Sigma 18-35 as a substitute). Excellent work, subbed!
@@FlatLanderOptical Yes indeed, however for APS-C I'd need wider than 24mm but for FFers that is a great range, I think I could do an entire wedding on just that lens. I really feel like APS-C should be more competitive, in theory we could have the same but SMALLER and LIGHTER by not having to cover the larger sensor... sigh...
Fuji has the most internal zooms of any brand(?). These are all internal: 18-120 f/4 PZ, the new kit lens 16-50 f/2.8-4.8, 8-16mm f/2.8, the updated 10-24 f/4, and the 50-140 f/2.8. Some of them require a screw on protective filter to complete the sealed internal design. I would love a standard f/2.8 zoom with an all internal zoom to complete the f/2.8 internal trifecta.
It sounds like you have a solid setup with the XT3, XT4, and soon the XH2, along with the Fuji 55-200mm and the Canon lens. Switching to the Fuji 50-140mm could offer benefits, especially in terms of image quality and integration with your Fuji bodies. However, consider the weight and handling for your equestrian photography. As for a new version of the lens, it's always possible with Fuji, but there's no confirmed news yet. If you're not in a rush, you might wait to see if any new releases are announced, which could also lower the prices of current models. 📷
That's wonderful to hear! I'm delighted the algorithms led you here and that you enjoyed the video and the points discussed about the lens. If you have any specific questions or topics you'd like to see covered in future videos, feel free to share.
That's exciting news about Sigma potentially releasing a 50-140mm f2.8 lens, along with other new options! It'll be interesting to compare these with Tamron's offerings. The differences in image quality, build, and performance can really influence a photographer's choice. Keep an eye out for further updates and reviews to see how they stack up! 📸🔍✨
Well im glad to hear there's more like us aswel haha! i do hear fuji is releasing a new 18 to 55 soon but from the rumours it doesnt look to be what we want
@@aeonbreak4728 For me it’s just a preference. I prefer how they feel and react in hand when making adjustments. It has nothing to do with taking photos; just a preference for how the tool feels in hand.

This video was amazing. Thanks for posting!
Thank you too!
Great review. I’m now thinking of getting this lens. Re focus. Did you know you can change settings in the camera body to LINEAR?
thank you! aa i did not know that, that's amazing thank you for letting me know!
Bro get that 16-55mm it’s a top notch lens. Thinking about getting this one so I’m covered 16-140mm pretty much 2.8 all the way through. 🥴

no idea why, as the 16-55 is a phenomenal lens
whats the issue with the 16-55? whats so bad about external zoom?

Also the 150-600 is an internal zoom lens
which ones require the filter to protect fully?
@@aeonbreak4728 the new 16-50 and the 10-24
I wonder if it behaves as well on xs10 or xt30II

Hoy he visto en rumores de Fuji que Sigma sacara un 50-140mm f2,8 y otros objetivos mas, igualmente hace Tamrron y ya veremos que diferencias tenemos

So nice to hear someone else suffers from the same internal zoom OCD that I do! 😂 I’d love a “holy trinity” internal zoom set up. (One can dream)

please explain. whats so bad about external zoom ta triggers your ocd?

cool video thank you.
First! I hope that you say it is good, I have just ordered one :)
i think youll love the lens! enjoy it!
Great review. However I didn't see an example of zooming while filming.
Noted! ill include that in further videos thank you!
I actually did this test myself with my son in my backyard, it does a decent job, almost parfocal.
I’d love to buy this lens but I think it’s too heavy for me :/
Its quite large indeed. and because of that its my least used lens even though its exceptionally clean optically
Cocus breathing is really bad on all focal legths
Why do you completely copied style of another blogger? This looks like a pathetic imitation
Who are you talking about?
I think he’s talking about serr’s style :))
