Am a mate of Mick in the VK, he's built that thing over a corvette frame, torque tube and all. It's a mental beast of a thing and he's not scared to drive it. It's overpowered and light AF. He refuses to dial it back or put traction control on it. "That comes from my right foot!" He's a top bloke!
That's amazing! We wanted to try and catch up with Mick all weekend, but Sunday got away from us a bit with producing coverage. We'd love to do a bit of a feature on the car and story of it competing at some point!
It's powered by a NASCAR derived Chevy V8 SBC 2.2 engine. Not sure on it's capacity; they were 360 ci (6 Litre) originally. Also has a 4wd drive train. Very cool car! Kevin is quite a character, too.
Pretty sure it's an aluminium donovan sprintcar motor of around 372Ci Have seen the thing run in the flesh, and when it's setup right it's like a mental slot car. It makes supercars sound like a diesel straight pipe dualcab! Lol
@@onedayiwillmakesomecontent You may be right, as the last time I spoke to Kevin was at Winton sprints round ~2 years ago, & still had the 2.2 donk. It was a flame spitting beast! He seems to be constantly developing the car too...
that VK in mat black looks absolute beast! ....while the vette looks like it was a dog on lino.... the 260Z dressed as a GT-R is mint! and the WV looked quite racey! (didnt think id ever say that! LOL) ...and that poor audi wagon gettin its ass flogged! and ye old bombadoor did alright too! (LOOSEY...VT?) i love subie WRXs...but that thing left much to the imagination...even with all its winglets! edit: ive just watched this like 10 times in a row!... yeah.. im drunk!.. but this is some of the best content out there!.. nice mix of cars... best track in the world.. what more could ya want! :P
Oh yeah, the VK is a beast. Can't wait to see more of it. Some brilliant cars at these events which we'll hopefully be able to delve deeper into this year.
good footage, would like to have seen the climb up through the dipper, i drive around it both ways regularly as i live near by but only at legal speed as the HWY Plod are there quite often

Wow the beetle surprised me with how fast it was! Also liked the corvette fluttering her eyelids on each gear change.😄
