    Love your work. An element I often think would be really cool for context on each new project video is what the client asked for and how you interpreted their wishes into your design.

    It looks like they have T1-11 siding on that house. Did you have to cut into that? I'm curious about what to do when you have T1-11 siding that doubles as sheathing, with only house wrap and the interior behind it. Did you pull the siding around the house to shove flashing behind it... and how do you get the sticker flashing back up behind the siding?

    Nice work as allways! But those Windows under the deck, whats the plan there? Those would work as emergency exits in a fire, Will you make an exit under the deck?

    • @THEpremieroutdoor
      @THEpremieroutdoor  10 месяцев назад +1

      We will have a grate on the surface of the deck to allow some ambient light in, and they will be able to exit them in case of emergency, but they aren’t big enough to be considered an egress window for a basement bedroom

    Great video/tutorial. Just curious where will they access the deck from? Meaning, what room in the house.

    • @THEpremieroutdoor
      @THEpremieroutdoor  10 месяцев назад

      We’ve got a small portion of the deck to frame on the right side so that single door will walk out to the deck, we’ll also be replace the single window on the left side with a slider!

    Do you guys do any freestanding decks? And if so how does the initial framing go? I do temporary freestanding decks on campers. I assemble the frame then lift it, which only work's because theyre generally 5×5 or 5×7 or such. But its such a pain to get it all level once its stood.

  • @jasonkeller5732

    Do the posts for the deck roof need to go all the way down to a separate footing? And on your project do the helical piles need a higher torque rating for those posts or the same as all of the others.

    • @Lytle0421
      @Lytle0421 6 месяцев назад

      Any roof carrying posts can typically just bear on the beam . And long as they are directly on top of a pile . And yes those piles will have to be rated for the load above as well .

    Aren’t decks supposed to slope 1/4 inch per foot ?

  • @richardsteen4340
    @richardsteen4340 6 месяцев назад

    40 1/4 - 10 = 30 1/4 .... 30 1/4 + 1/2 = 30 3/4 .... 10 is 1/2 too much, so add the 1/2 back.. The trick is to round up or down to the nearest whole number, make a mental note of the amount and direction you had to round.. In this case 9.5" inches was your number.. 10 is right there only 1/2 half too much, take the 10 out of 40 and a 1/4 and bam, 30 and a 1/4.. All you gotta do is add that 1/2 back and you got it..
    Once you practice this little trick a few times, enough to get the hang of it, you can have the answer almost instantly in your head, no pencil or paper needed..;) The main thing is being able to lock in the difference number in your head, long enough to do the larger number math, then recall the difference number and if you need to add the difference or subtract it.. In this case 10 was too much by 1/2 inch, so you know you gotta add that 1/2 back..
    Anyway, hope that helps somebody.. This little trick works with all kinds of math.. 73 x 7 = ?? well, 70 x 7 = 490... 3 x 7 = 21... 490 + 21 = 511

    Painfully unnecessarily over complicated math that is actually very simple.
    40 1/4 - 9 1/2
    40 1/4 minus 9 = 31 1/4
    31 1/4 minus 1/2 = 30 3/4.
