Good information. I just got back from a fishing trip last week and we caught a lot of smallmouth on the Ned rig. We also caught largemouth and spotted. We were pleasantly surprised the wire weed guards did not interfere with hooking fish but did help us avoid getting hung in brush and rocks.
I do the second one always. I learned you dont need to pull the line through one lazy day since the bait is so elastic. I tie the hook on and pull the whole jig head through.
Arturo Valenzuela For me, any color so long as it is green. When I start catching fish, I change colors to see what may work better but invariably Green succeeds the most.
Can't wait to try out the Ned rig! Great advice! I've not had a ton of luck with bass fishing ( and I've probably only caught 10 bass in 3 years under 2 pounds lol) but I know that if I continue learning and trying, I'll get what I'm looking for and its thanks to guys like you. Tight lines! Wish me luck!
I would choose the Mushroom Head Jig over another type. I fish around Rocks along a dam area in a Reservoir, that holds Bass All Year. I want to improve my skills in fishing & catch more fish per outing. Thanks Again for the Information & Video.
Really appreciate the way you explain your tackle and equipment... Thank you for that very valuable information... All of this may sound like common sense to someone who does this for a living but for those of us who are just getting started this kind of detailed information is worth its weight i gold... Thank you for this,,,
Awesome explanation on how these things work! It’s winter here in Australia so will definitely give them a try using the information you have provided. Thanks 🙏🏼
Late to this but I caught a musky with s ned the other day and the z man jig was bent to hell but stayed in his mouth. Medium light action rod 8 lb leader. Listen to that drag scream!
I have trouble getting any kind of distance casting with such light weight. I'm not going for spots across the lake or anything, but possibly more than around 10ft
I favor either a 3/32- or 5/32-ounce jighead for casting to the shallows (10 feet deep or less) but switch to 1/4- or 5/16-ounce models for fishing in deeper water.
You talk a lot about drag. I've heard that you set the drag to 25% of the test so on 6lb it would be set to 1.5lb is that good enough on a Medium Light Fast Action rod? Or do you bring it down to like 1lb? Thanks in advance :)
I never check my drag that way. I simply grab the line and pull down towards the vicinity of the reel (bending the rod). If it gives a little bit, but still has strong resistance, that's about right.
This video was very informative, thank you! My plan for bass fishing this coming spring will be mastering worm finesse techniques with emphasis on Senkos, TRDs and various shakeys/ribbontails. I am planning on using a setup of a 6’6 Light Power Fast Action spinning rod with a 2500/30 5.2-6.0:1 gear ratio reel and 8# test fluorocarbon. What do you think? I am targeting only Sm/Lg mouth Bass.
Just wanted to give you an update. I haven’t mastered finesse worming but I have definitely gained tremendous confidence in the techniques. I have caught more bass this year than ever before and several PBs. I changed my setup a little to a 6’0-6’6 Medium Power Fast Action rod paired with 5.1:1-6.2:1 reel. I’ve been fish shallow along the banks in 1 foot to 8 foot of water. Skipping under overhangs and docks is my new favorite technique.
Depends, if u are fishing in heavy cover you do need 65lb and heavy rods. But hey if u can pull a bass out of heavy cover with a medium light rod, more power to you.
piaoliang the heavy rod and line is for pulling fish out of cover, plus if you Texas rig a soft plastic, that long stiff rod will help to drive the hook through the lure and into the bass’s mouth

Hi there! This video while a couple of years old is still one of the better ones on the subject. You really explained the Ned Rig application well.
Nice! We love to hear feedback like this. Thanks for being a loyal viewer!
Bought a yum ned rig kit without knowing anything, this was a great one stop shop video I wish I had found earlier
That weedless rigging with the line through the elaztech is an awesome tip Deebo (and B-Lat)!!!
Huh, Deebo? Spreading the word on other sites too?!? Love it!
I was like he sound like Deebo. Thanks for confirming it.
I do the second one always. I learned you dont need to pull the line through one lazy day since the bait is so elastic. I tie the hook on and pull the whole jig head through.
This is easily the bait I have the most confidence in. I've caught so many nice sized bass (largemouth & smallmouth) with the Ned rig.
Awesome. Thanks for the feedback b.warrick3!
What color worked good 4u
Arturo Valenzuela For me, any color so long as it is green.
When I start catching fish, I change colors to see what may work better but invariably Green succeeds the most.
Very clear and helpful video, especially for a beginner bass fisher. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!

@debo’s fishing. Man you had the juice even years ago. Glad to see you improved your closing comments
Excellent video! Thank you! The ned rig has been my best way to catch them.

brettg2309, glad I can help. Thanks for subscribing as well.
or you could use the weedless weighted hooks that are available now
This sounds like a good follow-up bait to a whopper plopper or a crank bait.
Thanks.
The weedless tip is gold! 4:00
one of the best on the subject well done , and thank you I am sure it will work for Zander here in the uk .
Glad you liked it KEITH PARRIS!

good instructional video... good work man 👍
Nicely done Devon and BassResource!
Glad you liked it KastKing!
Great explanation. You did a great job.
Wonder what that thing mimicks? No. It is not at 45° angle. I use 37° angle over my left shoulder.
good talk, kid. You showed me a new bait that should be a killer where I live. Thanks.
Thanks, best Ned Rig video I've seen thus far.
Awesome. Thanks for the feedback Maverick!
Old school Debo!
Great video. Very informative. Thanks!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.

Awesome video! Can't wait to try these out
Debo, have you practically so the wheedles style and successful?
nice job, new baits, new presentations.
Glad you liked it Roger Dudra!
What weight jig head would you use mostly? Also what is your opinion about wire-weedless jig heads?
I favor either a 3/32- or 5/32-ounce jighead for casting to the shallows (10 feet deep or less) but switch to 1/4- or 5/16-ounce models for fishing in deeper water.
Great explanation! What rod length do you recommend?? Thanks!
7'

Very very good explanation / info
Awesome job man
Nice video with some excellent advice.
What weight jig head would you recommend? Does it depend on depth of water? Thanks.
The lightest the wind will allow you to maintain contact with it. Usually around 1/8oz is a good starting point.
Thank you,
I appreciate that weedless. But saying only fish the strike zone? Idk man. I've always been told fish it all the way to the boat or shore
Appreciation very useful
Jeff Baxter, glad I could help. Let me know which tips helped the most. Looking forward to hearing much more from you.
Thanks I picked a few good tips!
I fish alot of ducks how is this rig for pitching docks?
Right on point awesome products
EWG hooks is the way to go now!

I recommend a 7', Med power, fast action rod. 8# test fluorocarbon is a great choice.

You bet
What weight size heads do you use?
1/10th oz is a good starting point. Here's a video that explains how to fish it in great detail: ruclips.net/video/h9AQJxtj2Uc/видео.html
Well done thank you.
Great video...Thanks guys!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
Does anyone fish these in OTHER thank hard bottom environments?
I got my first bass with a ned rig at clear lake
Hayden Gutierrez Uh, a bed rig is used for something other than bass :)
That was a typo I meant to say ned rig
I like the trig mod nice!
Use a bobber stopper to protect your knots! You're welcome
That’s a good tip as well, Marcus Pierantozzi. Thanks for sharing.
You got really nice finger nails!
Nice:)
Good advice. I cant stand bass anglersj with stiff heavy rods and 65 lb braid, hunting 1 lb fish. Its trully comical.
piaoliang comical until you lose a couple thousand dollar fish
......but most people aren't fishing for thousand dollar fish!!! I understand both points though.
Depends, if u are fishing in heavy cover you do need 65lb and heavy rods. But hey if u can pull a bass out of heavy cover with a medium light rod, more power to you.
What's comical is someone so full of themselves and their opinion that they would judge someone else's different style as comical.
piaoliang the heavy rod and line is for pulling fish out of cover, plus if you Texas rig a soft plastic, that long stiff rod will help to drive the hook through the lure and into the bass’s mouth
This guy sounds like debo
With the ned rig you won't go home skunked that's for sure.
First
Awesome bait! Informative video.
Great video. Very well done!
Thanks for the support Rob Patterson.
