Vascariz Lookin’ at some of the comments, you’re the only one who thinks that. I’m undecided on the game still. So far, it’s seems like there’s too much reading as it’s a story game so it makes sense, I’m just not a fan of reading a lot when I’m trying to PLAY. Might pass on this one but we’ll see. I passed on the Solomon Kane because of all the reading of all the cards and not enough action.
The combat actually seems the opposite of fun, more random than some dice game that I've played. You pick cards at random after all and you only have some minor options to upgrade them so...
I've heard so much good about the combat, but it seems random doesn't it? You still pick cards at random and often you don't have real choice as how to arrange them. Is there any way to have more impact on the strategy in combat beside improving some cards in the deck?
@vann tedd well said, you can make dice mechanics strategic but you can also make card mechanics random as hell ;p One doesn't exclude the other, it's they way they are tied with the mechanics. Roll Player has dice mainly and I wouldn't call it random given the way you can manipulate them so much according to your strategy.
@vann tedd Too many bones comes to my mind with dice manipulation or Mage Knight, very deterministic. I'm not saying Tainted Grail is random. It just looks random from the gameplay standpoint and I'm interested whether you can mitigate the draft somehow, I wish it was more like Mage Knight when it comes to combat.
@@krakehz Yeah... and 4 hours later I was barely under the 10,000 backer mark. 19,330 backers in 24 hrs... I wonder how many backed Nemesis in the first 24 hrs for the Medic (which ships with the 2nd Wave). Hope Niamh ships with 1st Wave of this game.
@@galx5199 11842 backers for nemesis on the first day, so tainted grail is heading for a bigger number than nemesis did (TG has a shorter campaign tough)
@@krakehz yeah... i noticed the shorter campaign too... most Kickstarters go for 30 days (this one is only 23). I wonder why the change. Also, didn't it say in the video that the Kickstarter wasn't supposed to be until Feb 2019? Maybe the length has something to do with moving it up to late 2018 (probably not though... more likely to do with Christmas and all that). Regardless... I am happy they did and am looking forward to getting the game when it ships.
The theme and artwork look amazing, and I love the world they created. That said, this game is clearly not for me. I got to the 'combat' section, and had trouble even bothering to pay attention. Seems very "Euro-puzzley" and that's not what i want in an adventure game. That said, this game will probably make bank!
Man that's my problem with this one too, I was super excited until we got to the combat/diplomacy part where it got really fiddly, for me at least. The story/exploration part is pretty neat though...🤔
For me that's one of the things I like most about it. It is a puzzle, but it's more engaging than simply rolling a die. I can certainly see why anyone who has a problem with that would not be a fan (and to be fair I have no problem with dice-based combat either)
I welcome a bit of a fresh take on the combat instead of dice rolling. The downside seems to be a lot of down time while the other player figures out how to match the cards = combat is very slow and reminds of deck builder games. I do not know if that is good for an adventure game but it surely creates a bit more depth than roll X dice.
Thanks for the tour of the island. Looking forward to my journeys.
Feels like 7th Continent, with a dash of City of Kings.
A little fiddly, but looks promising. Thanks for the video as always! :)
Really enjoy the combat! Finally something with real complexity and depth

@@repeataftermeme75 now I've played it I can say it has complexity and depth.
A thematic playmat would be awesome for this. Also, please have LOTS OF CARDS
Great video! Immediate subscription! Hopefully someone tells Awaken Realms that "Aggression" is spelled wrong on Beor's player mat.
Great video, been trying to track down a copy of this game. Just curious, what is your accent?
Indents on the boards to stop the markers moving about, nice.. This should be standard!
Evolution
Will you have a final thoughts video?
Why in the Character Start Decks Are Cards Players cant use cause They dont habe the stats
it's like gloomhaven? longevity ?

Where did you get those card covers? Link?
how do you know which are the initial atributes for each character? cant find that information. Thank you!
they just highlighted on the player board.
Was quite excited by this game but having watched this video, seems really really fiddly. I'm on the fence
IF it funded ? lol, this will fund within 5 minutes :D
Actually, they think it was funded within 1 minute... they weren't paying close attention so they are not sure. :D
@@galx5199 it was funded in like 1.30 minutes, i got backer #12 :D

Downtime is too long. Just like 7th continent, smaller number of players will be better gaming experience.
