Thank you - that was very helpful. I have my great-grandfather's Duofold Jr. and was never brave enough to take it apart and clean it, but after watching your video, I did it successfully. The only thing different was that there is no internal ring for the pressure bar to catch on - I needed to first screw on the nib with the sac, and then insert the pressure bar, which then rests against the shoulder of the nib holder on the inside. Couldn't or wouldn't have done it before this video
@@lukeenyart1073 Hi Luke Enyart - I've been using it periodically since the early 80s when my aunt gave it to me. At that time it had been sitting unused for many years and I had to have it serviced and a new sac installed. I figured that is was time for another thorough inspection and cleaning.
One correction. The theory around the heating and burping relates to the air in the sac. warmed up air expands a lot more than the liquid ink, The expansion of the air forces out the ink....

Howard Austin , I am so glad to hear this. Will you be using it? I think vintage pens deserve to be used as intended.
Howard Austin, I'm happy I helped you!

Very helpful. Thank you.
Thank you. I've been wondering how to do this.
Excelente el video.
Tengo una Duofold idéntica y la sección no ajusta bien. Se debe agregar algún pegamento? Gracias.

Good job please keep making

This awesome. Exactly what I needed to know!
can you tell me or refer me to another demo of how you remove a stubborn gip ( the section holding the nib) from the barrel?
You may have better control of the pressure bar if you use long-blades needle nose pliers or a hemostat rather than your fingers.
