Thank you for your excellent collection of helpful videos. After overhaul and testing fill functionality, it's sometimes necessary to ensure the pen performs and writes pleasantly. I like simple black Quink for a 'nib performance check'. We might then face correction of tine alignment, flow optimisation and doing what it takes to ensure a smooth, enjoyable line in whatever direction the nib moves... another satisfying area of pen tuning that enthusiasts can now more easily self-learn :-)

Great to hear! While there are numerous outlets selling sacs, just do an internet search, the major source where these sellers probably acquired them is Pen Sac Co. If you need only one sac there are many places, I prefer Pen Sac Co, also there is a ton of informative stuff on their site.

I'm new to lever pens so I saw your video. I was wondering how to take out all the water, so you can use the pen without worrying about diluted ink. Thank you!

Thank you very much for this great demo. I recently received a Wearever "Deluxe 100" that needs a new sac which will be my first pen repair. Any recommendation on a source of reasonably priced repair tools/supplies?

Thanks for the Pen Sac Co tip. I've repair supplies and sacs on the way. I just bought this pen on ebay. I've not seen it on sites describing Wearever, but only in your video. Might you know the model name and years for it? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

Is there a reason you use the shellac as opposed to a gel type glue for the sac and threads? Is it just preference?

    • @Parker51Guy

Shellac will soften with the use of heat from a hair dryer or heat gun etc, so you can take apart the pieces later, whereas glues normally are not a reversible proposition and trying to take apart pieces without breaking them is nearly impossible. Also shellac on a sac will not come loose from the water present in ink and will therefore stay attached to the sac nipple.

Hi what size sac did you use for this? I have a button filler that needs replacement. Thanks!

I believe it was a 16 straight sac. Because your pen may have a different barrel inside diameter (ID) I cannot say the same sac will be correct for your pen.

I just bought this exact pen in blue on eBay, and you just saved me a lot of time finding a sac. Thank you!
