Apostasy Report - The Fall Of Calvary Chapel (The Video They Want Destroyed)

  • People within the Calvary Chapel movement are trying to destroy this video. A copyright claim was filed against this original video by "Skip Heitzig" of Calvary Church in Albuquerque. RUclips subsequently removed it. The potential grounds for their copyright claim have been modified and/or removed. In all likelihood this was an 8 second clip of Jesus Culture singing at their church which they desperately seized as a copyright claim. Why are they trying so hard to have this removed? They don't want the truth to be seen.
    Apostasy Report #2
Calvary Chapel has experienced a split after the death of Chuck Smith but both sides have been growing in their embrace of falsehood for too long. In this installment we address the many compromises that have come to redefine Calvary Chapel as we know it.

This original video was published in January of 2019, had amassed approximately 250,000 views and had nearly 5,000 comments of people sharing their stories. In late July of 2019 a copyright claim was filed by "Skip Heitzig" of Calvary Church in Albuquerque and RUclips subsequently removed the video. I have made a full response detailing the unscrupulous past and present tendencies of both Skip and his cohorts. Please view that video here: ruclips.net/video/JZLNEmWbaOA/видео.html&t

      Sir....we would see Jesus.
But today, people do not desire Him at all. Cisterns. Broken cisterns that cannot contain "water" at all. Woe woe woe.
But yeah yeah yeah to those who follow their Shepherd that bought them with His own blood, making them a kingdom of priests to God. They love Jesus. They lay down their lives unto death; holding forth the word of life and the testimony of Jesus Christ (what He proclaims by the Spirit).

I loved Calvary Chapel as a new believer. Brian Broderson was my pastor and this is where I grew in the faith. That was 1987 and I left i the 90's and started Calvary hopping thinking I would find a church home. I saw a lot of problems from the top down... the Moses Principle for one... I also counselled at the Harvest Crusades with Greg Laurie until I realised it was a very expensive endeavour for back-slidden Christians to have an emotional experience with Crystal Lewis and come down on the pitch to be saved again. I left the Church entirely because of the chaos of CC... protecting pastors in sin and having the attitude whenever questioned to be shown the door. I was heart-broken to hear about how Chuck Smith was treated by his son in law and his own daughter. At the end of the day; power, money, prestige and lust of the eye corrupts. And another thing, a beloved sister has been ruined by the doctrine of Rick Warren, her then pastor. To think BB has entangled CC into Rick Warren's mess is unbelievable. I hope they all repent and find their way back to the Way... if they can give up their toys. The problem with speaking out is that believers tell you that you cannot judge (like Joyce Meyers will say). Ephesians 5:11 says otherwise.

I finally found a good church, grounded in the bible...Reformed Church of Escondido. My husband, friend and I have been attending since last November. Many new people coming to this church every week. This church was established in 1959 and follows the Reformed Christian Church of the Protestant Reformation. It follows the Heidelburg Catechism and Belgic Confession and the synod of Dort..all doctrinal based on the bible alone. It is the best to go to a church service and hear a sermon which feeds and inspires you. The Pastor speaks with knowledge and intelligence, never speaking down to the congregation but teaching them and preaching the truth to stir up the spirit. This church is affiliated with the Westminster Seminary. Find a church like this, you will not be disappointed. Nothing is perfect but some strive to follow Christ and obey His commands. After being in churches which are pastor driven with no oversight by church gov't. or any type of confession, this church shows us what a true church is like. We are growing in faith and knowledge of the truth. Glad to be out of the false evangelical nonsense.

@@laurenlimebrook9828 Very telling post- "make sure you are in a solid biblical reformed church". This post is not an attack on your comment, but is intended for all who might see my post. I believe that your comment indicates that you might just be choosing one denomination over another, a reformed church over a Calvary Chapel church, and believing that one is good and the other is apostate with no Biblical grounds to support your opinion. Also, I would hate for you to be disillusioned when you discover, if you are willing, that pastors who lead large reformed churches also make a lot of money. This attitude of yours actually might make you a Christian with a sectarian and carnal mind according to 1 Cor 3:1-5 "And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. 2 I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; 3 for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and [a]behaving like mere men? 4 For when one says, “I am of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” are you not carnal 5. Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one?" I believe that if a person just substitutes Reformed and Calvary Chapel for Paul and Apollos, the application would fit.
Despite what you say, the vast majority of Calvary Chapels are not apostate, they have not departed from the essential doctrines of the Christian faith. Perhaps you may not understand those essential doctrines of the faith that believers are to agree on. If you look at a statement of faith of different denominational churches, such as Reformed churches and Calvary Chapels, you will see they do not differ very much. Yes, they might differ on issues such as church government, TULIP, and the perpetuity of spiritual gifts, but these are not the essentials. There are different methods of church government and ministry and if you prefer one over another, that does not make you the only one who decides what is right or wrong in the body of Christ. If you listen to this guy, he will have you believing that he is the only one who is not apostate. He actually wants people not to go to church, and to have a pastor, but to only attend a house church. He has a right to his opinion, that is his liberty in Christ, but it is only his opinion of what is best. Opinions are like belly buttons, every one has one, but of what real value is a belly button or an opinion. Often, Christians and churches battle and fight each other over differing opinions, expending all their time and energy, instead of fulfilling the Great Commission. I probably won't expend much more time posting on this RUclips site, because really, I have other things to do that are much more important, but I am just attempting in my own way to interject a note of balance into the conversation. I think anyone who reads the comments on this site would have to admit that it attracts some weird comments and feedback from people who are very discouraged and disillusioned. There seem to be folks who post here who believe everyone is a mason, member of a secret society, as well as anti-Semitic comments. Doesn't seem like the most edifying environment to me........

Robert Vann here is Doctrine according to God (The Word): you must have the doctrine of the father and the doctrine of Christ, the son of the living God. The Holy spirit can only bring truth and remembrance of this:
Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
18 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
19 Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me? John 7
32 Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:
3 Because I will publish the name of the Lord: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.
4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
5 They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation. Duet 32
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
      16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.
30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.John 14
2 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.
18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.
22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.
23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also.
24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.
25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning. John 15
      3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. 1 Tim 6
6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

The Phoenix Preacher had has an axe to grind against Calvary Chapel for years. This is very common within the Reformed movement. Reformed pastors and leaders tend to have a lot of animosity towards Calvary Chapel, and are not always objective. In regard to Raul Ries's salary, big deal. I know of no senior pastor of a large church in American who does not make a lot of money, at least acc. to middle class standards. Any Baptist pastor, Assembly of God, Reformed pastor, you name the pastor, if their church is large, no matter what the denomination, and the church brings in lots of money, then the pastors get paid a lot of money. So my point is this: Why the focus on Calvary Chapel? Any pastor of a large church in America gets paid a lot of money, so clearly, you are just trying to smear Calvary Chapel, and present them as being apostate. But who are you, and what is your ministry? And what church or movement do you belong to, so we can evaluate you acc. to the same standards you judge others, and discern the truth about you. Are you on the Lord's side or just an ally of the "accuser of the brethren", trying to sow doubt and division in the body of Christ. Perhaps you are the apostate?! It is easy to be on RUclips and pretend you are in ministry. What other credentials do you have so we examine your life?

Is it to business and a corpse. You look at each year that each pastor took in money and where did it go and who did it help and explain our nation in our world? If you really did your research, it's all so evil look at Ezekiel 34, Jeremiah 23 alone. Give me one church that has lived James 1:27 in its fullness or lived God is LOVE.

@daughteroftheMostHigh if by "studying," you mean doung a Google search or watching transvestigation videos on RUclips, I've done some of that...but my studies of anatomy and physiology in college and my research of reputable sources, as well as my real life experiences tell me that you haven't studied as much as you think you have. You are apparently ignorant of how many exceptions to "normal" anatomy exist in the world. I have personally walked through the very real pregnancies and childbirths of two tall, lower economic spectrum female friends with brow ridges and broad shoulders, in years past, when uterine transplants were not something people considered doing, as they are hoping to be able to successfully do now. Let's just say I saw and experienced too much to admit the remotest possibility that the pregnancies were faked. Perhaps you should do a little bit of real study with regards to not only heredity, but also on how prenatal stressors and hormones can affect embryonic and fetal development. Medical journals will be a better place for you to conduct your research than RUclips videos. Some of those transvestigation channels are absolutely ludicrous to those who actually have some education. And I say this as a person who actually believes that there are some very real conspiracies out there. The thing is, I also have some military experience, and at one time I was stationed at the Pentagon. I'm familiar with misinformation strategies. Do you suppose the elites might realize that many of their plans have been exposed? Do you think that one of the best ways to discredit those who expose them is to leak false information, posing as further evidence of the conspiracy? They want people who know some of the truth to look like complete imbeciles and/or lunatics. You have fallen prey to this sort of thing. We must be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. There are false brethren out there, and there are also agents of foreign countries running PSYOPS on the Internet (Google this term, for a good grasp on what I'm communicating here).
Some cis women are more masculine in appearance than others. Some cis men are more feminine in appearance than others. There are also people who are born intersex. Joyce Meyer almost certainly has had cosmetic work done; but until someone can provide real evidence, I will consider you a victim of and a purveyor of misinformation and/or disinformation. Please consider your sources.

FYI, thousands upon thousands of people have worked at the Pentagon. The odds of my being a government shill are pretty slim. I'd place the odds on you being prone to paranoia or a shill yourself a bit higher. You still haven't shared with me where you got your "education" about transsexuals...or any credible insight other than speculation about Joyce Meyer. It looks like you are into evil surmisings thinking evil of others, and a host of other fleshly pursuits that masquerade as godliness, from my perspective. I won't argue further. There are scriptures that prohibit me from doing so. And I do urge you to prayerfully consider that you may have been consuming tainted information. We all should be circumspect with regards to our sources, and prayerful for God's direction.

    • @juliethompson2903

There are those who feel the need to attack when their ignorance is exposed, rather than humbly consider that they might have been bamboozled. They try to distract others from their own shortcomings by diverting attention elsewhere. I'm sorry I hurt your feelings. It's not about my intellect, or even yours. If you cannot prove an accusation, you aren't a credible witness. Period. You can pull every narcissistic stunt in the book. It won't change the fact that your "studies" have been shortsighted. If you could have defended your accusation in a manner that held water, you would have done so. And you make many assumptions. Be careful, we have a tendency to reap what we sow!

So far, on this channel, this guy puts down the Baptists, Reformed, and Calvary Chapel denominations, and I have not even listened to everything yet. Guess what folks, that is millions of true believers. I believe that the real danger is this guy who thinks that only he knows what is right, and everyone else is apostate, I guess. Some of the things he is against do not fit the Biblical definition of apostasy. What amazes me is the people here who seem to think he is some kind of prophet or something. And he doesn't want people to go to church with pastors, only home churches. We will see how this ends up. This RUclips "preacher?" will probably end up leading a lot of people astray eventually. This has been the historical pattern with guys who present themselves as the "real deal", and everyone else is a heretic. Reminds me a lot of a guy named Joseph Smith, and history tells us how well that ended up! If he responds at all, it will probably be to say I am being emotional, a classic deflection technique, and not respond specifically to any of my points, as if he is somehow above the fray and division that he has promoted on this channel.

Most CC's will have solid, Christ centered teaching and sound doctrine but it's the management and leadership of the church that often falters. Pastors who don't have proper accountability and refer to "this is a pastor led church" every time someone has a concern or question. I've heard this from many who attend CC's and experienced it first hand.

Some 95% of all religious people in the world cannot tell you where the church was started, or, when it was started.
The majority of people would tell you that the church was here when Jesus walked the face of the earth.
Jesus says; “Upon this Rock “PETRA” l will build My church.
      (MATTHEW 16:18) “FUTURE TENSE.”
      In (MARK 9:1) Christ says:
Some of you shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom come with power from on high.
      “WHO’S HE TALKING TO?”
      THE APOSTLES!
The kingdom had to be established before all of the apostles died.
James was killed sometime in the 40’s. Paul was killed sometime in the 60’s. Peter was crucified head down sometime in the mid 60’s.
All of the apostles met a violent death, with the exception of the apostle John, who was banished to the lsland of Patmos in the year 96.
John himself died a natural death in about the year 99.
Therefore, the church had to be established sometime between the year 30, and the year 99, in the lifetime of most of the apostles.
If you’re trying to tell me that the kingdom is not here, then, you’re going to have to produce some apostles who are over 2000 years old.
Because Jesus said that the kingdom would come in the lifetime of some of those apostles.
The reason we don’t know it:
“Is because, we don’t know what the church is:”
“We don’t know what the kingdom is.”
BECAUSE WE DON’T STUDY GOD’S LAW.
EITHER THE KINGDOM HAS ALREADY COME:
OR, “WE HAVE SOME AWFULLY OLD APOSTLES RUNNING AROUND OUT THERE.”
      “ONE OF THE TWO”

Mofo Jackson you're missing the point you're missing all these words by all these preachers and did they ever live the gospel that they preached did they ever live the God of the Bible you really need to delve into the corruption of Calvary chapel as it is big business so you explain to me why they never lived James 1:27 Psalm 68:5, 1st Corinthians 13 Galatians 6:2 Matthew 22:36 to 40 Matthew 25:31 to the end. The Golden Rule, Sermon on the Mount, Beatitudes, The Lord's Prayer, Ten Commandments and the first Two Greatest Commandments as talking it and living it are two different things. So you sit and listen to all these words by all these men and where is the fruit of those Bible verses where is living the God of the Bible? You really should research all the sin that was hidden and its heinous. I always say with Calvary chapel I don't want to be made twice the sons of hell is themselves. You want to explain to me why Chuck Smith Sr. never lived James 1:27 so it wasn't modeled in the movement. NO fruit. So do scandal, people's negative feedback controversial articles abused by are they luciferian are they satanic are they Masons or Masonic so how do you explain all the cover up and abuse in Calvary chapel like Father Son and Holy ripped and the tangled web of Calvary chapel exedra. Religion and denominationalism is Big Business and neither one of them is of God.

My favorite pastor is Jack Hibbs. He is so down to earth, relatable, and honest in his teaching. I mean I’ve never heard a pastor say, “if you can’t kick a bad habit, then you love the habit more than God.” Helped me kick a few bad habits!
I didn’t realize Calvary chapel was affiliated with so many different false mega churches. However, I think each CC church is independent. Just because some group of people wanted all “Calvary” churches to be part of the same association, does not mean each pastor will preach exactly alike. I think it’s why I like Jack so much. You can tell he prays and reads very very often. I love that for pastors, leaders and counselors.
I’m glad I am treading lightly when attending a local CC church. However, I won’t hold what the local church does and says against jack just because they have the same name.

Over the past year I have listened to a lot of the verse by verse exposition from the Calvary churches and have benefitted from it.
I believe that they are people who are trying to serve God, bless their communities, and understand and communicate the teaching of the scriptures, verse by verse, as best they can.
Like many churches i am sure that they are actively involved in trying to serve the local communities that they are a part of.
I am certain that like all larger movements they could warrant some criticism, but if you were to compare the kingdom impact that this movement has had with that of this chap, I do not suspect it would compare favorably for him.

I was saved by grace. One night God led me by His Spirit to visit a friend, who I did not know was at church. At that point I did not know God but did believe in Him. I was raised catholic with not much teaching. Anyhow, while visiting a friend, I heard the gospel and asked God for forgiveness and immediately my life changed and I began to witness everywhere including my job. People would tell me that they were believers but the sad thing was that they never once talked about Jesus. I was this born again 30 year old full of the Spirit and all I experienced were lukewarm Christians. 95 % of the time, they attended Calvary Chapel. As a new believer, I was amazed that they were not doing what the Bible says to do, be His witnesses. I failed to mentioned that the church that I got saved at was Pentecostal. What I experienced was not emotion but excitement. God had saved my soul and I wanted to tell everyone that they too could be saved. I’d do anything to give you the message of the gospel. I still do this but now I attend a Calvary Chapel. I hope that one day I see the gifts of God poured out without man getting in the way and limiting what God can do. Read the word but also be in the Spirit, full.

Less commentary from you and more clips of these people saying and doing what you say they’re doing. I’m not taking anyone’s word for it. If someone is being exposed as a heretical or false teacher, show me the evidence I can see and hear myself. These men talking to each other or being associated with each other and you saying they shouldn’t be friends isn’t heresy. You come off as someone who likes to sit in the judgement seat and point fingers. Take the plank out of your own eye before you try to remove the speck from another’s.
I don’t see heresy here as much as I see you having a bone to pick and using few words and short segments which can be taken out of context to be made to sound bad.
Why not go ask these men face to face what they believe and let us see that exchange? Keep in mind that someone could do to you what you’re doing to them. Take a few of your words, make funny faces about it and add their own assumptions and commentary. Your approach severely lacks the integrity to get both sides of the story clarified.

Trucker Pete; let me help you to understand even more simply how ALL of the video is correct. The facts list about what a 501c3 church corporation is by lawful state definition: The creator of a corporation is the State. The State is the sole authority and sovereign head over the corporation. The corporation is subject to the laws of the State which limits its powers. The corporation has no constitutionally protected rights. The corporation is an artificial person. The corporation submits to a State Charter declaring it is a creature of the State.
ALL of the pastors mentioned are 501c3 and that makes the government the Sovereign head of their corporations.

People go "to the doctor:" because of their ailments. The doctor tells them their prognosis and prescribes a cure...This is only an illustration because the Lord is the true one and only Great Physician-healer.
But too many people that profess faith in Jesus do not inquire of the Lord. And they are sick from the head to the foot as Isaiah prophesied in Isaiah 1. No cure. No healing. No attending to what is corrupt...
People do not even realize what has made them sick.
A Jesus Disciple continues in His word. A religionist follows their masters in their words...Chuck, John, Joel, what ever star name one chooses other than Jesus.
Jesus never told anyone to follow a man. Follow Jesus. "Come to Me. Learn from Me. Abide in Me." But people choose other mediators. And that is why they become blinded, leavened, corrupted and deceived.
Once a person has eaten a diet of fast food and all of the food additives, conditioners, preservatives and who knows what else, they loose the taste for the real deal. And that is what has happened in these last days as people are heaping to themselves, teachers, having itching ears, to hear what they elect to hear, according to their desire, and they turn from the truth, unto fables of men.
There is no replacement for Jesus Christ and the true Word of God. All others that come in His name to deceive are mere antichrists, just as He told us would come.

Hi again Donna: It's amazing to just read the letters of Paul, Jude, John and Peter too. They speak much of the false ministries and their doctrines that corrupt the Word of God by twisting it.
For some reason you are not recognizing or "seeing" that the system is not of God. It is not to say people are not of God; but the ways and doctrines are contradicting the scripture. We also can not perceive it when we are steeped in it. Like walking in a field with animal refuse and get it on our shoes. We get used to the stench if we don't clean up. The same is true spiritually. We have to test EVERYTHING both by doctrine and spirit.
Haven't you noticed what is described in the letter 1Corinthians 14:26 for example how the body ministered all in order as directed by the Spirit. We don't see that in churches.
May I suggest checking a You Tube video by Frank Viola on "It's Time To Rethink Church pt 1 and pt2"? He states many things that illustrate just how far the system is mutated from the scripture. It may shock you. But God is using people to help the believers realize what the enemy has been able to do by corrupting.
You might check also "The Great Ecclesiastical Conspiracy" which deals with how different clergy versus laity system is from what Jesus commands.
      Hope that helps all.

Sickening. I went to CC back in the mid to late 70's and Chuck Smith and Greg Laurie ( he was 22 then) were my pastors. When I first got saved I was in a small home Bible study and prayer group (10 ppl-ish) that Skip Heitzig would occasionally attend. It was much, much different then. What happened? It's the lust of the eye and the pride of life.

We have attended Calvary Chapel Chino Hills since July 2015 and this video back in January really hit me in the gut. Loved listening to Pastor Greg Laurie he helped me in my walk early on I respected a lot of these other pastors in the Calvary Chapel movement. Now my wife and I are in a Crossroads because Pastor Jack has not done the right thing. It is difficult trying to get a one-on-one with Pastor Jack I will continue to try but I already know what the answer will be to my questions as he has failed to rebuke Pastor Greg, Hillsong, he will rebuke the easy pastors like Kenneth Copeland and Joel Olsteen but he won't rebuke any in the Calvary Chapel Circle especially Pastor Greg. Even going as far as joining a lot of these pastors including Greg in conferences and continuing to promote Greg Laurie Harvest Crusades. It is all extremely heartbreaking and enraging at the same time . Pastor Jack prayed over our son before his deployment and so it's really disappointing I still respect and love Pastor Jack cuz doctrinally he is sound he loves America he stands for life, he stands for biblical truth, he stands for Israel, he boldly interjects God and His Word in politics but he is human and there is no perfect Church that is for sure. I've spoken to numerous people on his staff including his number two man and it's shocking when I point out the Bible as truth and they stay silent and disagree with my opinion of Pastor Greg Laurie in particular.. I detest compromise and I'm not sure how long we will continue to attend Calvary Chapel Chino Hills so I may never get my one-on-one with Jack we will see. Thank you Joshua for your hard work in producing these videos they are very enlightening and they are a good tool for witnessing to active Christians. God bless you

How do I question the founders wife's own book to a pastor's wife? They are so aware of some things and blind to the contemplative prayer.

My dad was a pastor of one of the 1st Calvary Chapel’s in Philadelphia back in the early 1970’s. He wasn’t interested in money, in fact he, like the apostle Paul, had a job and only took a small stipend from the church. His church was only about 100 folks, but he was a soul winner and he loved his small congregation. When someone was sick, he went to their home and prayed for them. He was a true loving pastor. He was the same man at home or behind the pulpit. He wasn’t perfect, but he sure loved Jesus and his congregation! Watching this video confirms what my husband and I have been seeing in churches today. It grieves us. Maranatha!

Are you for real? I mean, from your videos, I only know where you DON'T stand! I would agree with many of your judgments and concerns, but it is hard when you are always saying what you reject. For me, and likely for others, you are going to need to give a good dose of what you DO believe; what or who you may endorse as a good example of true New Testament Christian living today.
One slightly more detailed criticism for you... please stop the "eye roll" argument. You often give this "knowing glare" by which you try to indicate "everyone must know" how wrong some certain thing is. It is not very helpful. After all, if your audience is only made up of people who already agree with you to such an extent, I'm struggling to understand why you put your time and energy into these videos. You're not lacking in articulation, so articulate! Certainly you do, but in many cases you rely on everyone already agreeing with and understanding you.

Pastor Chuck Smith eulogized Frisbee as: "a Samson-like figure; that being a man through whom God did many great works, BUT was the victim of his own struggles and temptations." I liked (and miss) Pastor Chuck and all the Calvary's went downhill after his passing.... you said it best: those people were like vultures when he passed. I came back to Christ in 2018 and it was Pastor Paul at Calvary Chapel in Ontario who helped me understand the Bible with his chapter by chapter studies. I watch him online and everything he ministers lines up with the word. In fact, I thought they must not be a 501C3 church because he covers topics that no other pastor would touch. He has an online community from all over the world and he is personable and quick to reply on Facebook if I have a question. I've tried to listen to other ministers but always go back to Pastor Paul. I wish I lived close enough to attend in person. That church is blessed to have him. Let's not forget though that if we have the Holy spirit in us, we are the church. Pastor Paul is a blessing whose Bible based teachings has helped many people grow closer to Christ. I respect your message but much like everything else, our schools, hospitals, charities, courts, big tech, big pharma, entertainment industry etc, all have been infiltrated and unfortunately the church has too. Just remember, there are also a few good guys left.

Grew up in a SoCal Calvary Chapel. 24 years attendance, went to high school there.
This is a good video that people should have the right to know. Otherwise they will be led into false doctrines, confusions that are definitely happening in CC. I knew about the split, but didn’t find out how significant until years later.
Recently James Kaddis was ousted for speaking up against Lacrae and Broderson. It opened my eyes to all these things and how deep the theology issues had gone. Don Stuart appears to be in agreement with him.

In listening to this video, let me make a point, if I may:
In your discussion about nepotism, I believe that you generalize about the sons of Calvary Chapel pastors. To say that they are all like "sons of Eli" is unwarranted unless you have valid witnesses, documentation, and hopefully, first hand information about them individually as men. Paul made the point to the Corinthian church(2 Cor 13:1) "This will be the third time I am coming to you. "By the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established.” I would suggest that you might want to follow Biblical principles like this more closely, especially since you seem to be so accusatory towards your brethren in Christ. Also, nepotism, as you call it, is not something that we are instructed in the Bible to avoid. You make it seem, and perhaps you don't realize it, as if a pastor who has a son go into the ministry should be ashamed. Having a son follow his father into ministry due to God's call is not apostate! You know, its actually very common in the body of Christ for ministry to be multi-generational. Many sons follow their fathers when God calls the son into ministry, and I don't think that believers should just assume the worst about a son who follows in their dad's footsteps. Also, could it be that you have a negative bias towards Calvary Chapel in general? I don't know the answer to that question. There are many Reformed pastors, Baptist pastors, and other evangelicals who have sons who have also gone into ministry. Are their sons all to be condemned along with the Calvary Chapel pastors' sons as only being pastors because its a "family thing"? What would impress me more about your videos is if you would be more specific, and really try and prove your case with substantial documentation and evidence, instead of some of the things I have heard so far. Most of I have heard so far is actually "old news", and some of it is really according how a person wants to present the information. There is a difference between apostasy, which is a departure from the Christian faith, and decisions made by people in ministry that might not always be the wisest. This is one of the reasons I asked you earlier today some questions to attempt to gauge where you might be at yourself in ministry for the Lord. But, you never answered me, only deflected my questions. And yes, I do believe in, and practice to the best of my ability Jude 3 "Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints." And some disclosure about myself, nothing to hide, I do have much firsthand knowledge and many years experience with and in the Calvary Chapel movement.

Because I cut my eye teeth on home fellowships in 1980 w/ Wayne Taylor in Seattle.... I will forever appreciate starting off in the book of Romans, falling so in love w/ the Lord & His Word.
The Maran. Music scene is another piece to this.
I had been a professional player, singer in bands doing clubs back in the 1970s so as I got close to the Christian music scene, I saw all those typical problem arise in church.
Weaknesses that often were in the secular world also In the leadership being so young .
So I did see a lot of things that you talk about. And it truly broke my heart for quite a while.
But there is nothing new under the Sun, And these things have gone on since the beginning of time.
Occasionally, there is a church to be found where the leadership has great integrity and strength, but it seems that lately they are far and few between .
All that said, I will always appreciate the line upon line teaching I got in my early Christian walk. Having come out of Catholicism & today, the dear Christian friends I have ...many who were in my first small home fellowships.
These are precarious times we live in today and we need great discernment, guarding our hearts and staying close to those believers who are walking in their integrity.

I also attend a Calvary Chapel and have attended others. And I have grown as a believer because of these wonderful group of believers. There are people out here that are false teachers and some of may be in Calvary chapel and I’m sure you could add a blank line for any church, denomination etc. and based on my knowledge, dare I say from Calvary Chapel, they will have to give an account. Yes we are to address sin in the church, but God is in the business of restoration. I think of Lot being called righteous in the scriptures and if I were to be honest using the same test that my dear brothers and sisters have been using here regarding fallen leadership from CC, I wouldn’t say Lot was righteous. But because Gods thoughts and ways are not ours, I can not in good conscious and Love, denigrate an entire church organization because there are people abusing their authority and misusing Church resources. What I can do is pray. We are salt and light, just sinners saved by grace. Gods word declares our sin will find us out. God knows that we live in a wicked and perverse world. But we should take guidance from his word and fret not over evildoers and workers of iniquity. We are to mourn the sin and allow our hearts to break for what breaks Gods heart and Love these backsliders, sinners etcetera intentionally and without condition. Love covers sin, God brings grace, conviction and restoration. Let’s walk worthily and be loving and respectful and most of all prayerful for these souls that have gone astray. Please recognize that our rhetoric here may cause someone to leave a good Calvary Chapel and that would be terrible. My heart is grieved from some of the comments from my family in Christ. But I know God is still working, still revealing and still saving. Praying for restoration in Jesus name!

I joined U-Turn for Christ in 2006. I spent 17 months there and loved every day of it. I met so many amazing people and got to volunteer with them for many events. Weather it be working at the local food bank or at one of several local business that support those less fortunate people that need help. I loved feeling like what I did made a difference and truly helped shape people's lives into a much more enjoyable, pleasing the Lord type of lifestyle.

Did they preach the Gospel? I tell you very clearly, no man will be saved by works, so many presume that they are born again because of something they have done/said/wished/worked. Unless you are born again you shall be found wanting/wasting away forever in a lake of fire/torment/misery from where there is no escape. You must look at your entire life and despair of coming to the judgement seat of God and say.. "well God.. I'm a better person than some, so let me in!" God will cast into Hell many who say, "look at what i've done." Consider your life, ask yourself if you have been given a new heart, with new desires, a new direction, no longer a slave of sin, but a slave of Christ.

No one can speak for ALL Calvary Chapel churches, but I know of many that are excellent, rock solid, Bible based, and Sprit led. Yes, there is a place for warning people, but I believe that much of this video does a dis-service to a lot great churches, pastors, and ministries. This ultimately brings division and steers people away from God and His people. I suggest you take this same passion and focus it more on simply loving God and loving others. God is able to fully to sort out all this other stuff in His time, according to His will.

Matt Brooks' Rock Solid? The facts list about what a 501c3 church corporation is by lawful state definition: The creator of a corporation is the State. The State is the sole authority and sovereign head over the corporation. The corporation is subject to the laws of the State which limits its powers.
The vast majority of CC so-called churches have the government as their sovereign head under their 501c3 status, which Chuck Smith applied for even though he was already tax-free status, so how could they be rock-solid if they do not have Jesus the Christ as their head?

I noticed more how you mocked and seemed to enjoy pointing out faults. Very articulate and skilked at criticism. Most of the "comments" seemed to glorify and congtatulate you at your hard work and diligence. Some of these concerns are real and should or have been addressed but your approach is also with questionable intent. Several Calvary Chapels and pastors are outstanding examples of truth and light in this world of deception... Jack Hibbs, JD Farag, Don Stewart to name a few I know.

Most of this video has nothing to do with the Calvary Chapels. I've been serving in a Calvary Chapel for 5 years now. "Making disciples verse by verse" is the mission. Truly a Bible teaching/preaching church.

That's the paradox Ben. How can you justify being a denomination/schism? Or the ecumenicalism with Rome? The agents working with the Vatican like Billy Graham and now Rick Warren?
Or the long list of scripture violations in the system? Yet, you say Calvary Chapels are verse by verse teaching. This is nothing different than blind guides leading the blind right into the ditch. You can't see it?
I urge you and those who read this to seek the face of God. Hear His voice. Do what He says. Leave the false exalted teachers that have led you astray from Jesus. Return unto the Chief Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. Before it's too late...

@@staaudio Wow you speak as if you know me and my entire church personally. Roman Catholicism preaches a false Gospel. My Pastor took James Macdonald and Rick Warren off of our radio station because of their bad decisions. We go verse by verse through the Bible every Sunday and Wednesday. We don't preach legalism or antinomianism. We preach the true Gospel per Ephesians 2:8-9. Since I've been there we've gone through Genesis, Revelation, Titus, Philippians, Galatians, Philemon, Romans, Nehemiah, and Luke. All in an expository style. I think it's problematic to get on RUclips and start chopping ears off (i.e. Peter). I completely disagree with Bill Johnson, Joyce Meyer, Todd White, etc....as does my church leadership. All I've experienced is solid Biblical teaching and authenticity at my church.

@@benwade7334 I belong to the Body of Christ purchased by the blood of Jesus. I am trying to illustrate how far the church system you are esteeming is from scripture. Yes, I am an active servant of Jesus Christ. No I am not a sectarian. I had to follow Jesus as a simple disciple in the things He shows us. I stand by what I wrote you. Hopefully you will consider it prayerfully before the Lord.

    • @staaudio
      @staaudio 4 года назад

@@benwade7334 That's good the things you are aware of. Still, the system you promote is in violation to scripture in many ways. It's important to be teachable and have open ears hearing Him as He says in Mark 4:23-25.
Yes, Catholicism is a false gospel. Yes I agree with the others you cited as false teachers. The false doctrines too of legalism or antinomionism. In other words, we are under the Law of Christ.
The thing is Ben, we have to hear what the Spirit says to the ekklesia. There are things the Lord is speaking about the state of the church system that is in violation to His ways, Word, and instructions. This is what I have written you about.
Not all "churches" are the same or in a detestable condition. Some are not as bad. But the Lord says He is going to perfect His Body. Some go along with the program, and some will not.
It is as Jesus tells us, they love the old wine and refuse the new. They can't receive the new cloth so to speak either. God will not give those refusing to adapt to the ways of the Spirit in preference to their old religious ways of man. So, God will not put new wine in them because their wine skin will burst; and the new wine will be wasted. I see Jesus illustrating the rebellion of preferring their own ways that are right in their own eyes, refusing what is good and true.

I am 100% convinced there are some born again Christians existing within the Catholic church. Why they stay, I can only speculate. Nonetheless, there are people who love Jesus and believe He is the only way to salvation.

I’m glad I left the Calvary Chapel Movement. I always had high regard for Pastor Chuck Smith and Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. I was saved through Calvary Chapel South Bay with Pastor Steve Mays. It’s so sad to see false teachers and heretics coming into the Calvary Chapel movement. I feel like it’s a business, more than a body of Christ that actually cares for the flock. They use a lot of flashy presentations, just to fill the pews, rather that preaching the true gospel, which actually brings the sinner to the true saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Ive attended a CC since 07. One thing I've noticed is a complete and total lack of discernment amongst the congregants, and even leadership. Their theology is acquired through the CC echo chamber, so any questions that oppose OSAS or the pretrib rapture is met with blank confused stares. They sing bethel/hillsong/elevation and are completely oblivious to their heretical teaching and rotten fruit. Ive also noticed a lot of them are accepting of roman catholicism
