    I trained a lot with Chris back in Cincinnati vision mma. Never saw him get heated with anyone. Never saw him go crazy on someone or put it on someone who wasn't as talented as him.. he was a damned great training partner. Glad to see him doing well.

    This is one of the reasons you have to be careful “going easy” on a guy like this. They might not know you are going easy on them and the fact that they are still standing gives them false confidence to say things like “yeah but I would have knocked you out if we were going for real”. I can understand why he got so mad, that would drive me crazy too. Especially since he was being nice to that guy and not going too hard on him. No good deed right ?

      Yeah, it should be a humbling experience for the “street fighter” and you would think he’d realized that he was getting worked the entire time. Some people I guess 🤷‍♂️
      The same people that walked into a gym and challenge professional fighters.
      There was a video years back where Martin Kampmann sparred a reporter with both guys knowing what the deal was and it was fun to watch. Kampmann went easy but throw some strikes and the reporter was thankful and knew that Kampmann could crush him if he wanted to. Same thing when Krzysztof Soszynskj “sparred” some
      average Joe’s… everyone knew what the deal was and no one got hurt.

      "Going light" is an understatement, he was barely even touching him, you can hardly get more playful in sparring (besides that tap headkick in the beginning maybe haha). Especially on the ground it was clear Chris just wanted to show that he could dominate him in every aspect. The fact the guy didn't understand this shows two things: 1. He's delusional af 2. He probably never trained any combat sports in his entire life

    Much respect to C Curtis. He actually sparred at an appropriate level in terms of power he was using against a total novice skillset. MUCH respect. Usually, too many guys in gyms will use a new guy as cannon fodder, which isn't cool. This guy apparently talked some shit coming in, so again - most guys would rip him up. Chris Curtis, you've got a new fan for how you conducted yourself in there.

    I lived in a house with an MMA fighter once. He was the nicest guy. One day I saw him with bloody knuckles and asked him what happened. He said a guy picked a fight with him while he was waiting in a line. He told me he told the guy he didn't want to fight with him, and when he threw a punch anyway, my friend got him to the ground and was doing some ground and pound. I asked what happened then, and he said he eventually felt bad for the guy, and stopped.

The amount of restraint and mercy Chris showed was no joke, then the guy talks after getting owned. Most of the time if you go into a fighting gym and try to talk smack and say you'll kick anyone's ass in there, you can expect to wind up in the ring with someone who will try to smash your face in and score a few extra shots after you're down and out just to prove a point.       A true martial artist with any sense would just laugh it off. It's the same principle when you know your capabilities and are met with adversity in a public scenario. Most true martial artists will not engage with people they know have no real fighting experience, maybe in self defense or to help someone but that's about it. I'm glad to see people in this gym acknowledged this self proclaimed street fighter was a fake and just laughed it off, and escorted him out the door. It shows self restraint.

    I’ve dealt with people similar during camps. Literally will lecture you about fighting without zero evidence of their experience. Don’t blame Curtis for being angry. He only hits his garage heavy bag, no training outside of that and maybe youtube here and there. asked me to sparr and i went maybe... 5%? im not trying to exaggerate but 5% is seriously how it is especially when you know theres nooooooooooothing they can do and youre not a bully. did this with him just for fun (maybe 10 times total) and never told him how easy i was going. months later he talks like we had good fights and was really equal, and how he wants to be a champion.. thats when i knew something wrong with this mfer

    That whole thing had me rolling Chris handled it well and could've done way worse obviously and went easy on the guy. The guy just pushed Chris's buttons after that and the reaction was hilarious.

    The utter stupidity of people never ceases to amaze me. You walk into a mma gym, pick a fight with someone who could rip your head off and after you get your ass handed to you still mouth off, and Chris Curtis went easy on him. Unbelievable 🤨
