I’ve seen this video several times and I just love it. (However, it does seem odd that there are multiple videos of this same coach being challenged in his gym) Coach tells it like it is…you need to come into a boxing gym with humility. Worked at a gym in Houston in the early mid-70’s. You start out just working out and watching and helping out with chores. You didn’t bother the real boxers. After awhile, someone told you it was your time to get into the ring for some work with someone a little more advanced than you. You were shown what it was like to try to hit someone who knew how to move, and duck, and block. Then you were shown what it was like to get hit by someone who knew how to punch. All the while, people were talking junk about the experience you were going through, but that was part of keeping everyone humble because they were all remembering what it was like for them when they were in your shoes. So after this round, if you sucked up your pride and came back the next day, then a lower level coach would start working with you on some real boxing skills. The only thing that could hurt you was pride and the gym culture is beautifully fashioned to work humility throughout your soul.

@SmokeKing OG why you gotta be a dick when he isn't even lying?
@SmokeKing OG He said a “majority” which is probably true. Man’s didn’t specifically call you out dude chill. It’s not that deep
What an amazing coach. I have so much respect for him not taking that bully's brain out for a walk, which he could have done easily. Some people just don't understand how high the ladder goes. Class act!
Appreciate the comment thank you
Yeah, I was gonna say the coach left a lot to the bully's imagination... elegantly.
The coach commented here, though.
*Sir? You're a frickin' sculptor. An artist. I have Absolute Respect. ✌️
@@alanmclean3292 Thing is, we're all that animal inside. You can hear it in the coach even. Struggling to keep that demon under control. It's hard when you know you have the upper hand and if the tables were turned, "that guy" would probably show no mercy. Where I come there's a fair chance of fractures and a couple of stab wounds. If he reads this he should go to the coach and apologise then ask for lessons. Not on how to box but how to not get killed by your own mouth and lack of imagination. Some people are serious animals and this guy is lucky he met a gentleman. Borderline, but a gentleman none the less.

I went to a boxing gym when I was younger and trained and boxed the people there twice a week. I have broke my hand, dislocated multiple fingers, broke my nose, dislocated my eye socket, and done similar damage to others. There was some nights I remember going to the boxing but woke up in bed the next day - Head trauma? Concussion?
You cannot walk into a boxing gym and just call people out. The people in there do nothing but beat the shit out of each other week, after week. It takes a certain resilience and mentality to keep coming back to that. Most people quit as soon as they get hurt.
I only use to do 3 rounds but I was tired despite exceptional fitness. Nobody has any idea how difficult this sport is when two people are really going at it. You think you are going to be composed but all that goes out the window once you’ve been punched in the face.
I come back to this all the time.
That coach went easy on this guy
He is 100% right in saying this guy could get really badly hurt in the wrong gym.
I agree, the coach could have KO’d him stiff. The guy had zero defence and could barely throw a punch, not to mention his two left feet!
@@KM2558-o1y yeah what the coach said was bang on...."you ain't got no type of work" 😂😂

He's punching his hip because the coach told the bully that he had hip surgery, and he still lost lmao
