If You are the coach, thats it.
You make decision whether to accept to train the person or not. After that, You do not push your personal life-philosophy to Your students.
This is not fair, that as professional coach, You actually do not accept the person and nevertheless start to co-operate and during this You attack Your student with all Your physical and mental strength.
Fair thing would be, that coach should say at the beginning, that this is not acceptable and the deal is off until no criterias of club and coach are obeyed.

I’ve seen this video several times and I just love it. (However, it does seem odd that there are multiple videos of this same coach being challenged in his gym) Coach tells it like it is…you need to come into a boxing gym with humility. Worked at a gym in Houston in the early mid-70’s. You start out just working out and watching and helping out with chores. You didn’t bother the real boxers. After awhile, someone told you it was your time to get into the ring for some work with someone a little more advanced than you. You were shown what it was like to try to hit someone who knew how to move, and duck, and block. Then you were shown what it was like to get hit by someone who knew how to punch. All the while, people were talking junk about the experience you were going through, but that was part of keeping everyone humble because they were all remembering what it was like for them when they were in your shoes. So after this round, if you sucked up your pride and came back the next day, then a lower level coach would start working with you on some real boxing skills. The only thing that could hurt you was pride and the gym culture is beautifully fashioned to work humility throughout your soul.

There was some nights I remember going to the boxing but woke up in bed the next day - Head trauma? Concussion?
You cannot walk into a boxing gym and just call people out. The people in there do nothing but beat the shit out of each other week, after week. It takes a certain resilience and mentality to keep coming back to that. Most people quit as soon as they get hurt.
I only use to do 3 rounds but I was tired despite exceptional fitness. Nobody has any idea how difficult this sport is when two people are really going at it. You think you are going to be composed but all that goes out the window once you’ve been punched in the face.
