But how the hell do you manage to even get to the UFC if your gas tank is so small that the few kicks he threw in the 2:30of the first round exhausted him so much. You can see it right around the 2:30 mark of the first round that suddenly he's starting to get really exhausted.
I boxed for a long time so I know how exhausting it can be to keep throwing punches. But hell that was nothing especially in such a weightclass. Would be different if this was a heavyweight fight. Throwing quick and rapid kicks like this would be more tolling on a heavyweight fighter. Guy like him should be able to keep this tempo up a lot longer. Half a round is truly pathetic.
Did I hear it correctly he's from Germany? 😅 Bet he got all the jabs so that might explain his poor conditioning.

While I do agree the call was a few seconds late, you're always going to piss someone off. I couldnt even tell you the amount of times I've seen the losing fighter freak out at the ref for stopping it too early, and when you give them another few seconds to regain a chance to defend themselves then you're called malicious. It looked bad from the angle they showed but when Magomedov was on the ground at the end he was still intelligently defending his face with his arms and hands, he just couldn't get out of the position. I think most fighters would prefer that to the ref who makes early calls, better to take a few extra punches than to have their career potentially permanently altered and their earning potential dimished by a loss from an early call

Folks complain that Strickland only throws straight shots, this is what makes him so hard to hit.
There’s no way to beat him to a strike. It’s just adds to his defense.
Adesanya relies on wearing people out and countering their round strikes. Strickland doesn’t tire and doesn’t throw shots you can easily counter.
It’s not flashy like dans likes but it lets him walk people down like a terminator while they can’t touch him.

Sean's probably a full 5 feet away nose to nose and still lands that jab with a finger going into his eye. He doesn't have crazy reach or speed but he can place a fist on your face like a magician...and Abus is a freak athlete with speed and reach who should be able to evade it. Just imagine trying to land on Abus. It ain't easy. Abus vs Costa would be awesome.
