To all the comments about Fedor. We are from Russia, that's why there are some mistakes in this video with the pronunciation. We've noted the mistakes you all mentioned. Next time we'll check everything twice! But as for Fedor's name, it's pronounced the Russian language way. Ok, we got it, people are used to hear the English version of it (with a wrong word stress etc.). From now on we'll stick to an English version of Russian names. Thanks for the feedback!
lol why, if fedor is pronounced that way in russian/ukraine its how it should be pronounced everywhere. fucking americans. they try to pronounce mexican names the right way because of racism claims if theyre not but fuck with german and russian names all the time because no one cares there
No way, keep saying the Russian/Cyrillic pronunciation.

So true. I remember Phil Baroni commentating on one of Cabbage's fights and he was saying too much muscle is more tiring than having too much fat, he was right as well, remember Bob Sapp in K1 where he'd have to take a rest half way through rounds he was gassing so bad.

Chris Barnett is scary.
Having such a body properly transfering all of its momentum into a spinning kick might possibly be the most devastating strike a human can realistically deliver.
Can't believe that didn't put him out cold. It's a shame that Barnett only recently entered the UFC at an advanced age. I hope to see him in at least a couple more crazy fights before he retires.

For real, a fat dude that moves like that is deceptively fit.

I actually got a chance to meet Butterbean once back in 2006 at a Merle Norman salon and spa of all places in Dearborn, MI. Even though he said he was kind of in a hurry he still took a picture with me and my girlfriend at the time. Really nice guy, even in a rush lol!

Butter bean and Big Country will always have a special place in my artery clogged heart. Did karate and small circle jujitsu. Remember even though these guys carry excess fat, these guys are still extremely well conditioned and powerful, they are professional fighters despite their excess fat
Professional Athletes too.
There's also the issue of lower body fat percentages being really bad in terms of how they affect strength and endurance. The guy who is shredded is not going to be able to function optimally at that type of body composition without being on gear.
Provided that they make weight, the guy who has more body fat at weigh in also most likely won't be in the process of recovering from an intense bout of dehydration, like a lot of fighters do to try and ensure that they're as big as possible without being disqualified.
@@casanovafunkenstein5090i mean all of the top heavyweigjhts are pretty lean, volkov, gane, aspinall, pavlovich, stipe then it drops off to nothin but fat heavyweights after that, being lean def helps
Happened to me. I took a bout with a 265lb fighter while at 215lb, because he had no other options for matchups. I was in bodybuilding shape, he was far from it, and I was the favorite. He shattered my orbital in the 2nd round.
I’ve replayed that loss in my head for a decade.
was it an overhand too? cause look like most of these big dawgs use that in all these clips lol
It's the weight difference. I am confused at why you would take a fight with someone 50 lbs more than you

I mean...accurate.
My high school wrestling teammate, Mike Russow, didn’t start fighting until his mid 30’s. I was there that night. Mike got his forearm broken in the first round and couldn’t use his wrestling. Got his jaw broken in the 2nd. Landed his shot in the 3rd. We all put at least a hundred on him as he went off at 5-1 underdog odds. We had a hell of a time later that night spending our winnings in Vegas.
Don’t let the physique fool you, dude was crazy strong and 2 to 3 moves ahead in his head. I wish he’d of started earlier in the fight game.
That’s awesome! Dude is TOUGH, man!

i like that he was lucid not punch him repeatdly when we was on ground! respect
That's awesome. Me and my friends are watching that fight live and I recognized in the second round that Mike was going to pull off the upset. None of my friends believed me and then bam he knocks the dude out. Hope he's doing well now.
I was in Russows corner for that fight and a bunch more
Roy and hunt are the best. Great
People always forget, just because someone has higher body fat that doesn't mean they have less muscle or are less strong compared to those who are leaner. In fact, they usually have more muscle and strength.
Thats exactly why weight classes exist. You can pack more muscle and performance per pound in when you dont have the fat. Sure you can be fat and a dangerous fighter. But a muscled fighter of the same weight...will be more dangerous.
Absolutely. Most fat guys are solid underneath
That Fedor three punch combo is just legendary the way he throws from the hip but still tight and on target, amazing!!!
Kongo must have nightmares about fighting the belly squad.

Butter Bean is an idol to all us fat guys. We love you Bean! 🤣🤣
Larry Allen, probably the most dominant offensive lineman of all time was 6'3 325lbs. He benched 700 lbs, and benched 225 43 times. Despite his size, he ran a 4.85 40 yard dash. Yet he had a belly. I never saw Roy Nelson gas out in a fight either. Big guys can be sneaky like that.
Because pure muscles require a lot of oxygen. There's couple of exceptions like Kamaru Usman, Alistair Overeem, Islam Makhachev, Zhang Weili, Paulo Costa
@@russelljones2281 Something else as well, although muscle weighs more by volume, big tubby folks still have to carry around a substantial amount of weight 24/7. This cannot be done without strength. Which can easily be overlooked when someone doesn't look like they were chiseled out of marble.

When you’re hitting someone with constant right and lefts to the chin and they’re just smiling back at you, you know it’s game over
That's when the knees & elbows come in! If they can still smile thru knees & elbows ... run.
Esch has a secret weapon. His body forces people right into his kill zone, but it doesn't look like they are. He has a chest the same size as the body builder types, but it looks smaller proportionally. Those seemingly quick jabs aren't really jabs, they are full power hooks. If you remove 3 inches of stomach, shoulder, and bicep bulk, you see the range of movement he actually has is MUCH greater.
Johnny Knoxville wakes up.."is Butter bean Ok?" Lmfao
Harder to see the hips moving with all the belly.
Tank, Hunt, Roy, and Butterbean, definitely a major pack unto itself during their prime. One I doubt could be defeated today.
They would all be ran through lile they were in their prime, tank got beat by vitor belfort who he had 70 lbs on in 15 seconds and lost to a guy named cabbage who is terrible , butterbean was a freakshow fighter fun but 0 notable wins, roy nelson got schooled by so many peoplr in his prime by stipe, mir, overeem, werdum dos santos and a lot more people all beat him bad it wasn't close he only had an overhand right
Never underestimate the Babe Ruth effect. Mass and momentum from a fat boy kinetic linking can translate to baseball bats, and fists.
Babe Ruth himself was a legend. God DAMN that man had power in him.
To be fully fair - Ruth played when "just being naturally good" was more valuable than almost any amount of training, because the training was so much less sophisticated.
Which doesn't take anything away from Ruth, but he just had the technique down.

Call it what it is: Fat guys who can fight.
Thank you for including Tank Abbott! The man rarely gets the recognition he deserves and is rarely included in MMA knockout reels. He's probably in the top 3 of hardest punchers in UFC history.
Tank was a D1 wrestler who could put up 600 pounds on the bench press. He doesn't get anywhere near the recognition he deserves. He was one of the fighters routinely avoided by Gracie.
@@Shastavalleyoutdoorsman yes, I saw him bench 600 in reels. Wasn't aware the the Gracie's avoided fighting him. That's rather shocking.
@@davesampson158 if you look up some of the interviews where he talks about the first UFC's the decks were really stacked for the Gracie's they ran the whole thing. They avoided guys like him that had wrestling backgrounds.
@@Shastavalleyoutdoorsman yes, I'm aware that the Gracie's ran the promotion and that they avoided certain grapplers. With a little natural ability and a little training a fat guy has ALOT of kinetic energy to transfer to your chin 🤷♂️
True but JDS is the fat guy destroyer he beat Mark Hunt, Derrick Lewis, Tai Tuivasa, Roy Nelson, Ben Rothwell, Blagoy … he literally won every single fight he’s had with a fat guy lol
And a lot of weight to keep you down
Mark Hunt was good at making his big overhand and his uppercut look the same, really hard to defend without footwork
A nice video about Cheik Kongo and Stephan Struve being hecked 😅
Roy Nelson, butterbean and Chris Barnett are beasts!
I think fighters underestimated just how fast Butterbean could throw a punch. And once that thing was flying there was no stopping it.
How can you even defend against something with that much speed and power? Your dodge game gotta be unreal to evade that, coz if you try and block it, hello hairline fracture!
Respect to those who stop hitting when it's beyond obvious their opponent is unconscious.

Back in the day I sat ringside at the Texas Golden Gloves Championship rounds. In the heavyweight division, a stay puffed marshmallow, no body definition guy that was so white, he glowed. He was like a real life ghost. His opponent who was local looked like a movie star Hercules. He had a large cheering section vs Casper's half dozen. When they shook hands at center ring, you could see the huge difference in size and shape. The bell rung and they met again at center. Within a nano second the ghost threw a roundhouse that came so quick and so hard, it nearly knocked Hercules's head off. He was out like a light before even hitting the canvas.

Chris Barnett is probably the shortest heavyweight in MMA today. He is 5 foot 9, which is a common height for welterweights and middleweights. I don't know how he does it but much respect to him for taking on bigger and dangerous opponents.
He's heavy as hell for a shorter guy. If a short dude weighs more than a tall dude he's going to ragdoll him regardless. 5'11 Mike Hunt breaking 7' Struves jaw is a perfect example of weight in action.
@@pieterlindeque7798 let's not forget Mike Tyson. Tyson is 5 foot 11 and he fought opponents who were 5 inches bigger, 50 lbs heavier than him.
Tyson was 5’10 which makes it even funnier, he was extremely dense and had huge hands. He closed distance and a guy that height of that weight can translate energy much faster
5’9 is even short for welterweight, with huge weight cutting going on 5’9 guys pretty much all compete between 135 for the skinny ones and 155. Leon Edwards the champ at welterweight is 6’2
@@FilipinoSlugger David Tua as well
