- In this video went to meet Doug who has been into XR2 Fiestas for over 25 years! 👍
His current Mk2 Fiesta XR2 is probably the only bright orange one in the world! (anoraks look away now!! 😃) It was in a state when he first bought it but it now looks very clean AND has a built 1600 CVH in the bay running on 'Ferrari carbs' 🤔

I don't know if it's just being sentimental or nostalgia but I absolutely love the look of the XR2. All the 80s performance Fords just look so cool. Doug's XR2 looks great in the Capri orange. Who cares about the pedantic purists, keep it as it is.
Superb car and a cool guy looks great in orange and like he said can always be painted white if the values sky rocket even more .
this is nostagia for me, im now 50 but back in the day i owned 2 xr2,s 2 xr3i,s and an s1 rs turbo. if only i still had them all.

My mate use to own a metallic grey one back in the day with purple piping in the bumpers!!
So much better to look at, and probably drive than most Germanic point and shoot gearboxes of nowadays, boring. A proper classic😎.

Would be interesting to know the full spec of the engine, mine makes a bit more power but doesn’t idle as smoothly as this one.

I had a few bk in the day.. had a black xr2 . 1.6 . 4 branch manifold. K&n filter.. didn't do to much too.. then bought a red one.. that had 1.6 with twin 40s k&n filters . 4 branch manifold.. tsw wheels . 40mm springs.. bumpers & kit colour coded. Had to sell and new owner after a month wrote it off was gutted.. bought a 1.6 blue xr2. Standard.. built myself.. fitted 4 branch manifold. Twin 40s . Kent cams.. ported & polished. Few mil skimmed extra off head. K&n filters. Pepperpot wheels. Think was scorpion exhaust.. rs seats. Racing clutch can't think of make.. springs unsure.. absolutely loved it.. sold few years later and new owner had it skittled it absolute mangled.. them days were amazing but long gone

@MARCUS HAYES not sure how true it is but they were the best for it because the used to bounce over kerbs into shop windows an remember someone saying it. alot were written off from being rolled too.

Hi there Marcus and your beautiful girlfriend Cat 🐈⬛, lovin that wee XR2 Fiesta, but I really love the patina in the spots 😊, it just hits the right spots, I was a bit unsure of the Vista Orange 🍊 but it’s definitely grown on me, niiiiiiiiiiice.
Ps…….change the oil every 3k,i know i would if it was mine, oil is cheap compared to an engine 😊
Pps….. I remember I had a Vista Orange MK3 Granada and the rear chassis literally fell out, 😡 grrrrr
The orange looks really cool against the black XR2 kit etc. Defo wise to change the oil regularly on these old Fords! 👍

Restored one in mid 2010 Red exactly the same was gonna drop a rs turbo engine into lent it to my brother and he let the ratbags Rob it gutted 😠😠..
