- Welcome back all,
Finally it's time to reveal my latest purchase! I know I've been teasing this a lot on social media but I wanted to make sure this video was well edited with lots of different clips. I personally think £700 for this car was an absolute bargain but please feel free to share your opinion in the comments section below. As I mention in the video this will be my new daily as I have recently sold my fiesta ST.

1999 was all talk about the Millennium bug !! I was in the strength of my youth back then and only remember a hand full of these around after the success of the previous models . Glad to also see the engine has Bosch diesel management , would be fun to turbo charge !?!?! Good luck hope we see more of it !
Hey Mitch, it’s a great buy and very practical. If I bought it, I would definitely fix the rust spots and the dent in the rear quarter, which if you remove the taillight you can pop it out quite easily with a dent tool. If you can always change the shocks to make it a little stiffer and even add better sway bar link ends to also help with body roll. As for the metal bulkhead panel inside, you may find it at a auto wreckers or online.
But I would keep it. You can use it to pick up any other items you need for all projects either in the house or when purchasing other items including parts, wheels and other items. Plus if you have to go far it’s cheap to drive so you save on delivery fees etc.
Good video and I love Fords too. I have 2. I live in Canada, but I am from England. I have a large van. 2006 Ford Freestar, with a 4.2L V6 engine. I paid roughly £850 used. For MOT it needed front brake pads. I’ve had it 3 years. The other vehicle is made by Ford. It’s a 1992 Mercury Topaz with a 3.0L V6 engine. It only has about 50,000 miles on it. I am I. The middle of replacing the brake lines that run to both rear wheels. I already replaced the rear flex line, brake line, wheel cylinder and rear spring kit.
Love the video’s. Especially the car auctions with the old classic cars. They’re brilliant.
My brother drove the courier version of this and it was smashin and my first car was a blue facelift model of this only in the car. Has my vote! Great purchase.
Nice little runabout, I had a works one for a short time and I remember it was light and nippy.
I like the video you did with the drone. I really want to do something like that with my Escort. I guessed you might go for a mk4 fiesta. You have been hinting at it in your auction videos when you were salivating over that one that sold for like 4k. Looks like you got an absolute bargain there.

Love It! I've Got a 1998 Mk4 Fiesta 1.25 LX which has been in my family since 2001, I have taken it to a few car shows over the years, not many left in good condition now.
I agree there can't be many left on the road, good to hear you're looking after yours 👍🏻

that was a good buy, cheap, tidy car/van
don't lower it, that dirty diesel weighs a lot, + pulls the front down over bumps, [ask the sump]
talking of sumps, there is two bolts behind the flywheel, so g/box out to swap [yeah, cracked mine, found out the hard way...] a turbo would be very nice, fix, then tweak the pump, 120bhp...

I remember a recent video where you saw a Mk IV Fiesta - it wasn't the van but it was that colour. Also I'm sure it was a 1.25 petrol. I seem to recall you were very tempted by that? Anyway, it seems your soft spot for vans has finally got the better of you 😂

Wow Mitch certainly right place and right time to get it for £300 less than the original Ad it would have been worth a Grand in that condition at least now u can spend a bit on it knowing u have realistically saved £300. You will love the economy I had one years ago and could do my lengthy daily commute for several weeks b4 refuelling.
Hey nice van. For that money it had to be bought. I like the older stuff doesn't give half as much trouble as the new cars. I drive a v reg corsa 1.2 bought from rob waddington car sales in norfolk with 49 000 miles on it. Been well looked after no rot never lets me down. Me and my son went from bridgend south wales to collect it. Cannot wait to see what you do with the van. Thanks mark😁

I'd say the van is retro, as nearly 25 years old! I'm looking into cooking oil / used cooking oil to filter (free fuel) 😆

PS £55 divided by £1.46 per litre gives just over 39litres which, divided by 4.54 (number of litres in a gallon) is 8.65 gallons. If I take "well over 400 miles" as 430 and divide that by 8.65 gives 49.7 - so as near as dammit 50mpg! For a car the best part of a quarter of a century old, that seems pretty reasonable!!

why do people still say hub caps and other say wing mirrors there wheel trims door mirrors,no i wouldn't lower it as it has all ready got hole in the sump .it could end up with no sump
We just name them differently 👍🏻 For instance, I say lower arm and other people say wishbone. It’s not wrong, just a different name. Have a good day :)
