Few benefits, it can climb steep incline due to engin capacity, so it's no longer limitation, two limitations( which are for all mbts around the world today) what I feel is cost of such advance tanks 2) limited protection due against advance infantry weapon systems.. If protection is achieved against handheld missiles then tanks will br back in business ( like in ww2)
The main reason why the Arjun is so heavy is due to the tank not using very advanced armour such as depleted uranium alloys or chobahm style armour (NERA). Instead it uses reflector plates in the same concept that the T80 turret or the T90A turret uses. To have more armour than a T80 without using ERA is a very hard thing to do without NERA that's why I consider the Arjun to be a masterfully engineered tank even if it doesn't top the list, it's still a kicker!
Another reason is that the Army wanted a 4 crew design with manual loading. Automatic loaders on the Army's T90s seemed to get jammed at high heats of the deserts .
@@darkhammer2078 nope Abrams is pretty lightweight compared to Arjun. Abrams fully loaded is 62,000 kg battle ready, while Arjun is 74,000 kg battle ready. Abrams has a 12,000 kg advantage.

The mine plough alone weighs around 3T.Otherwise it's similar to other western tanks. It's potential is in arid landscape. As a result it cannot be used in more than half of India's border and sadly army is not well pleased with it.
It's intended use was in the India-Pakistan border along the Thar Desert where mines can be hidden easily. Hence the mine plough. That being said, the Mk1A and further the Mk2 solves most of the issues and a new tank is being developed since last year for the mountainous Chinese border areas that will enter production by 2024.
This tank is made specifically for Pakistan. This tank can wreck havoc on plain regions. This tank is not meant for Himalayan borders due to heavy weight.
Some army generals are not pleased with it because it will cut into T90s orders and the kickbacks from Russia that come alone. Its a direct threat to Russian T90s imports.

the Arjun Mk1 main battle tank hasn't had a sparkling operational career . . . the Indian Army doesn't want it due to it's numerous faults & plagued with reliability issues, especially it's overweight at 66.2 tons . . . but eventually the army had to acquire around 200 Arjun Mk1 that are gradually being upgraded to Mk2 standards . . .
TBH, except for a lesser range, I really don't see other disadvantages, tanks need not to be lighter to be agile (10 to 20 km might make a difference in time to reach somewhere but no difference in trying to evade an atgm). Tanks should be heavy since mostly heavy means more protection and more protection means less prone to shut off when hit. The hitting and defense capabilities are what make a tank, A TANK !
Not necessarily, heavy != more protected, a tank that weighs less has a lot of advantages it consumes lesser fuel, needs smaller engine (means bigger compartments for crew and techs), is more agile, and can easily cross bridges. There's a reason why tank designers didn't opt for heavy metals to improve the armor and instead go with composite armor as it gives the better protection in a significantly lesser weight.
@@lunaFreya141 yeah but all that lightness and just one atgm round takes out a machine that's worth a couple of millions. Agility isn't worth it, tank can't avoid a cover hidden manpad that's continuously moving, especially if the tank doesn't have infantry support (like in ukraine war). So Obviously it's stupid to incorporate titanium or Tungsten as these are too much heavy and will cause the need for an exponentially powerful engine. But a heavy composite-metal based armor shouldn't be avoided even in IFVs as these vehicles either carry personnel or expensive fire power which should be protected from at least 3-4 atgms... So it's important to keep it armored even if it reaches a 100 ton. 100 tons won't be a problem for a 2500 hp engine (like that of a chopper) if it exists for tank's size. These kinda tanks could be used in few numbers to spearhead an invasion or push back to drop enemy morale as these beefed tanks work as a meat shield for the high number of normal tanks. Seems plausible.
It was best video ever made on arjun tank 👏 ever Please cover hal druve helicopter also tell how many country use it It has build more then 1000 units (all varieties total)
One more that Arjun tank in testing range take two direct hits from t-90 tanks to test it's armour and it's proved worthy after those hit tank still able to move and working
@AiTelly:a little suggestion, bro, put it in the thumbnail or divide it into a playlist about the division of the two big poles of military technology, for example, coming from the West and coming from the East from the West (US, UK, France, Nato) from the East (Russia, the former Soviet Union, North Korea, China)
Great observation bro. I appreciate your hardwork in putting it to the world ❤️. This tank main disadvantage like u said is regarding weight and that's why india is now making new tanks with help of drdo and l&t named zorawar tank (light tank) for easy mobility... Well india needs to save it's country from aggressor CCP nah, so by comparing India's tech with China's teach will make more improvement in coming years... Hearts from india 🙏
The lahat is an advantage but it’s not really a unique feature. Any tank that has the nato standard 120mm can fire it if their respective military decides to procure them. After that it’s just a matter of software programming so the round can actually pair up with the tank they’re gonna be fired from.
Every tank should have this feature, we may not get tank-to-tank battles, but the tank-to-tank is also less in Ukraine, and also in Armenia Azerbaijan, tanks are taken out by ATGM, and with infantry, you can take out enemy tanks before it spots you,
If it's so easy why don't american and western tankstanks ont have this capabilities it can also be used to shoot down helicopther s which is a tanks main enemy
@@TheMoppin If Israel is Western, Lahat is in use. Non adoption could be due to the lack of sensors decades back that could help with such long Range detection. Second, the missiles were wire guided and the fire and forgot ones were not matured enough.
Amazing Video! Really Interesting to see how the tank works! Now I gotta see a vid like this for the Pakistani VT-4 or the JF-17 Thunder! This is the first vid I watched on this channel and it really amazing! Keeps up the good work!
Even Indian Army likes it to use in specific locations where it's mobility and speed are not required that's how much it is overweight , I hope the trim down some weight by using composites in non sensitive areas .
It's specifically made for western front where plane terrains are there ,where lite tanks become easier target for enemy,it's heavy because it's made specifically to use dangerous bombs like thermobaric or Vaccum bombs.
Most western nations have been developing and building tanks for a century or more. Their industry is geared to develop any new tank or ammunition for specific functions. Not so with India. So no wonder it takes more time effort and investment for a country like India. India would develop any new weapon that can be used in more ways than one.

ARJUN is a big tank compared to russian tanks. I guess it's better than T90 and t72. Let's wait for Mark 2 , maybe it'll equivalent to Leopards or abrams. Mark 1 was just a baby step
All T-90 variants are superior to the Arjun. Russian APFSDS (both svinets 1 and 2) are far better than Arjun’s. Moreover, smoothbore guns give higher muzzle velocity than a rifled gun and they have longer service lives with less maintenance. T-90s are also faster and can traverse bad terrain much much better than the Arjun can. The ERA coverage on the front of the Arjun is also quite bad, with the main gun sight being extremely exposed and the armor being extremely thin at that point as well.
@@Insert-Retarded-Reply-Here In comparative trials between Arjun MK1 and T90, the MK1 came out superior. Not to talk about the MK1A in service with 90 improvements. T90 tanks are history literally once the NGMBT, Remotely operated Arjun and Zorowar tanks get inducted

Challenger 2 is up there in the heavy tank club. It a race to be the thickest tank.
Can you tell me what is the most modern version of Abrams tank?
@@VideosfromaSailor Can't keep up with them now that I'm out. The M1A2 SEP3 is in play, as in some armored units have them. The M1A3 is an ongoing project, and it is incorporating changes made in the M1A2 SEP4, which is also an ongoing project. The critical weak point in most modern main battle tanks is the weak top turret armor. That's not an easy passive fix. Bro there's one MAJOR omission!.. The smoke-grenade launchers also double as soft-kill APS. The most underrated mbt
The m1a2 is 82 tones because of the du that’s fully combat loaded also
Another reason is that the Army wanted a 4 crew design with manual loading. Automatic loaders on the Army's T90s seemed to get jammed at high heats of the deserts .
But sources say Indian Kanchan Armor is similar to British Chobham Armor. It is a advance composite armor for sure

Obrigado pelo vídeo incrível como sempre.
It was best video ever made on arjun tank 👏 ever
Please cover hal druve helicopter also tell how many country use it
It has build more then 1000 units (all varieties total)
One more that Arjun tank in testing range take two direct hits from t-90 tanks to test it's armour and it's proved worthy after those hit tank still able to move and working

Light tank along side T90 is for northern border. Arjun will serve along side T72 and T90 in the west.
Very happy you made video on Arjun mk@1 ✌️ keep good work.
The lahat is an advantage but it’s not really a unique feature. Any tank that has the nato standard 120mm can fire it if their respective military decides to procure them. After that it’s just a matter of software programming so the round can actually pair up with the tank they’re gonna be fired from.
Every tank should have this feature, we may not get tank-to-tank battles, but the tank-to-tank is also less in Ukraine, and also in Armenia Azerbaijan, tanks are taken out by ATGM, and with infantry, you can take out enemy tanks before it spots you,
It's not LAHAT. It's SAMHO for Arjun. There are videos of test firing in RUclips.
Yes... The main USP is the Kanchan armour and not Lahat....
If it's so easy why don't american and western tankstanks ont have this capabilities it can also be used to shoot down helicopther s which is a tanks main enemy

Yep! I have high expectations I am a huge fan of Arjun Tank.
There are news reporter of Automated/remotely operated UAV type Arjun tank coming.
