Just wanted to correct some information from the part where the video talks about the different ammunition the Abrams uses. The M1147 multi-purpose round was designed to only replace the: M830, M830A1, M908, and the M1028 round. The MPAT DOES NOT replace the M829 series APFSDS rounds as nothing kills other tanks in direct fire, better than a long rod penetrator. The MPAT is simply meant to replace the other rounds the Abrams uses.
@@elgranfreezer9117 "IN DIRECT FIRE" meaning from line of sight, artillery cannot punch through composite armor. Likewise, composite armor is really good at stopping shaped charge munitions from ATGMs. What you're referring to is "indirect fire", I was specifically referring to "direct fire"; in which case nothing still has the penetration capacity of APFSDS rounds. You're right that artillery is devastating, but that is INDIRECT fire You're right that ATGMs are devastating, but the new ones only so because of the top attack option that avoids the armor. In MOST, DIRECT FIRE(Line of Sight) scenarios, an APFSDS round is your best tool for disabling a modern tank.
@@danielcervantes7826 Artillery has direct fire by the way. Actually the explosion is hard enough to blow Up into pieces any tank. The ATGM doesnt need any top attack. Simply the Kornet missile can punch through 1200 mm of RHA equivalent. Thats so much more of any tank protection.
Official numbers are often or always lower than the real topspeed. Does not depend if everyone knows it. The leopard is capable of maybe 100 or above kph if driven on roads. If I remember correctly the engine has also a normal mode and the other has the name of emergency power.
All the engines are "limited". There's nothing special with the Abrams jet engine, except it consumes so much more and really isn't that efficient. All engines are limited to increase lifespan.
It does in fact have a governor installed. That turbine engine was originally supposed to power the UH-60, AH-64 and SH-60 helicopters but the GE T-700 won out. Instead it is now found in the Abrams. It is a very powerful engine.
The steering is incorrect. There is a single brake. And you just turn the steering like a bike left and right and that takes care of the power transfer to each track. The throttles aren’t independent of each other. I was a tank crewman in the marine corps
@@_UA_ Well, the T-14 is too expensive for the Russians to afford so it is missing from the battlefields. It is definitely not non-existential, it's capabilities are controversial.
In my opinion it's not that big once you stand beside it. I am told that the reason it is not that big is because it has to be able to use existing roads and bridges without damaging them. There are pros and cons to having four crew members. Enemy tanks have three crew members and use an auto-loader which can reload faster on a sustained basis. But having four crew members means you have that one more person to help with repairs....and everything on a tank is heavy and hard to handle.
@@crusader_wolf1104 "a living tank loader can be replaced in an instant if needed." Yeah....guess who is going to replace the loader in an Abrams.......the Commander. It's not going to be the driver. It's not going to be the gunner. Yeah no.....it's going to be the commander......then the tank virtually loses the commander and the Gunner is making all the calls.
I used to think the M1 Abrams was equal to the challenger two. Admittedly the M1 Abrams has a truly an American amount of machine. It doesn't have the protection or the situational awareness of her British counterpart. The British Dorchester is still the gold standard, it has a 360 degree dual-purpose optical infrared range finder and 360 degree active protection at only half the price
They use the British "dorchester" armour which is the best in the world. Also the Challenger 2 MBT is the heaviest at 75 tons has never been defeated in combat. It also has the record for longest tank on tank kill. It is the best protected MBT in the the world.
Abrams uses technology from Britain that was founded upon Chopham and Dorchester. But Abrams has its own unique armor make up and armor matrix that is separate and different, as such it can't be called Dorchester. However without the British working with the USA and telling the USA about their incredible technological breakthrough with Chopham then the USA would be "up the creek without a paddle". I'm sure the USA would figure something out but who knows what would have happened.
please make more videos about military hardware just as AA defense systems or mobile artillery and types of artillery and Pakistan fighter jet JF 17 thunder and missiles
The top speed of the M1 is classify. I would bet it can do over 55 mph on paved surface easy. Also don't forget see first shoot first and given the M1 fire control it can hit it a moving target 3 miles away 90% on first shot.
Actually the top speed shown in the video is the governed top speed meaning that if the crew turns off the governor then it will go far faster at the cost of fuel.
I love these type of videos. This video is of particular interest to me, due to the way they give the metric, then I guess it's called imperial measurements, duh. Anyway, since darn near everything, is being represented metrically, I try and multiply 3.2 or 3.3 rounded so I could get to know the equivalents. Problem is, I have to keep pausing a video so I can do some Cypher'in as Jethro would say. This video, I just kick back and watch for a change, ha ha

Just some notes and corrections, I didn't write down everything, but the big stuff. -The model of the top of the tank is inaccurate, CROWS are supposed to be on the top of the Gunner sight (the Box on top of the Gunners sight I believe is part of a prototype AI tracking site from a test tank) - The Trophy kit extends off the side of the turret adding almost 2 feet to the sides and cannot be equipped with the TUSK 2 kit - the loaders knee switch is in a non-operable stowed position, it needs to be flipped down for the loader to use it -M830A1 is called MPAT not HEAT - the tanks fire-control calculates a firing solution for the gun, all the ammo has the same accuracy and range effectively -APFSDS is preferable for anti tank work, but MPAT and HEAT can be used as well (Multi Purpose Anti Tank) MPAT, (High Explosive Anti Tank) HEAT -M1147 AMP (now called HEMP, High Explosive Multi Purpose), replaces everything but APFSDS -M1147 HEMP Point detonate is vehicles including tanks, airburst is mostly for Infantry, And Delay mode is for bunkers or buildings - The depleted uranium armor is on a lot more than just the turret and is combined with other armor Technologies from NATO Nations -The AGT1500 was used not because the Abrams used the TUSK 2 kit and reactive armor, it was already being used - The driver turns the tank by moving the handles like a motorcycle, the whole handle assembly moves together. You can rotate the handles like in the video to operate the throttle, the handles rotate with each other not independently -The Current M1A2 SEP V3 does not have the latest 3rd generation thermal sights -The tank is electronically limited to 42mph, off road to speed is about 35mph -No Abrams is currently equipped with Trophy in combat -Almost all modern tanks are vulnerable to top attack missiles Not a bad video, it gets the bigger picture, but I thank some things got lost in translation and a military advisor was not used in proofing the final video.

@@ChrisDavis333 Yes. The Challenger 2 has a superior armor package, offering more protection. Only one Challenger 2 has EVER been lost. Numerous Abrams have. As for the Leopard, it mounts the very same gun as the Abrams. The Abrams is not the most lethal, or the most protected.
@@NorthernNorthdude91749 we get it the challenger 2 survived an RPG-7 in its extremely limited combat experience.. that’s not impressive, an RPG-7 is nothing. If you put them in the place of Abrams, just as many get lost to IED’s and friendly fire. Probably more considering they aren’t as good, their support is not as good and their crews are not as good. Given the benefit of the doubt, given the exact same circumstances in combat as the Abrams, the same number of tanks would be lost, likely way more. We’ll see how the Challenger 2 fairs in Ukraine, it will be its first legitimate war experience. I’m sure it will be documented if they actually use it, time will tell.
@@ChrisDavis333 Ok, you're just an idiot. The Challenger 2 has survived far more than just RPGs. It's survived tank on tank engagements during the 2003 Iraq invasion, in which not only was not a single one lost to any enemy action at all, it also claims the longest tank on tank kill shot EVER. No Challenger 2 has ever been lost to an IED because, again, it has more and superior armor. The only Challenger 2 to be lost when it was hit with the commander's hatch open by another Challenger 2 by a HESH round. Literally the only Challenger 2 to ever be lost. It can eat APFSDS and HEAT-FS for breakfast. The Abrams has objectively less protection than the Challenger 2. You're just one of those "murica" dudes who thinks all our stuff is the best, when that's just not true. Is the Abrams a good tank with good protection and firepower? Yes. Is it the best in regards to both? Absolutely not. This is objective fact. Dude, I fucking served on an M1A2 when I was in the army for 10 years, I know what the fuck I'm talking about. @@Aitelly how long will that take, just asking cause i am eagerly waiting
This tank is so HEAVY. but it's so powerful
Agreed!
Not really, 120 mm L/44 is interior in power and velocity compared to L/55 of the Leopard or the 125 mm of the Soviet tanks.
I crawled down into the driver's area when the seat was angled back and had no idea how to slide it forward, I almost couldn't get out.
The MPAT DOES NOT replace the M829 series APFSDS rounds as nothing kills other tanks in direct fire, better than a long rod penetrator. The MPAT is simply meant to replace the other rounds the Abrams uses.
Actually no. An artillery shell can easily destroy a tank. Even a ATGM is better because have longer range and deeper armor piercing.
I heard that Abrams can be faster but it's limited by it's software to limit wear and tear
We Corrected this Video Abrams Tanks here ruclips.net/video/5AdirNl4l1k/видео.html how to drive a Tank
It does in fact have a governor installed. That turbine engine was originally supposed to power the UH-60, AH-64 and SH-60 helicopters but the GE T-700 won out. Instead it is now found in the Abrams. It is a very powerful engine.
This is a excellent vid of information for people who know nothing about these things, well done 😊

As usual, good explanation, good animation ♥️

The steering is incorrect. There is a single brake. And you just turn the steering like a bike left and right and that takes care of the power transfer to each track. The throttles aren’t independent of each other. I was a tank crewman in the marine corps

This is impossible, because the T 14 is a non-existent tank, it does not have stable characteristics.
@@_UA_ Well, the T-14 is too expensive for the Russians to afford so it is missing from the battlefields. It is definitely not non-existential, it's capabilities are controversial.

Request to do a video on the other modern tanks of:
1) T-90
2) Chinese Type 99
3) Israeli merkava series
It's wild that such a huge, complex tank only has 4 crew members
In my opinion it's not that big once you stand beside it. I am told that the reason it is not that big is because it has to be able to use existing roads and bridges without damaging them. There are pros and cons to having four crew members. Enemy tanks have three crew members and use an auto-loader which can reload faster on a sustained basis. But having four crew members means you have that one more person to help with repairs....and everything on a tank is heavy and hard to handle.
@@rael5469
Having an autoloading system too can also mean mechanical issues, whereas a living tank loader can be replaced in an instant if needed.

@@crusader_wolf1104 "a living tank loader can be replaced in an instant if needed."
Yeah....guess who is going to replace the loader in an Abrams.......the Commander.
The British Dorchester is still the gold standard, it has a 360 degree dual-purpose optical infrared range finder and 360 degree active protection at only half the price
did you make the 3d yourselves because they are amazing.
yes we did this all from Scratch
Tracks + roadwheels + suspension plus drive sprocket make the running gear. The item yoj referred to as running gear is the drive sprocket.

They use the British "dorchester" armour which is the best in the world. Also the Challenger 2 MBT is the heaviest at 75 tons has never been defeated in combat. It also has the record for longest tank on tank kill. It is the best protected MBT in the the world.
We Corrected this Video Abrams Tanks here ruclips.net/video/5AdirNl4l1k/видео.html how to drive a Tank
I heard about the longest recorded kill! Wasn't it near like 5km? Something just insane
Make a video on America's THAAD air defence system plzzzzzz
What about Patriot Missile
please make more videos about military hardware just as AA defense systems or mobile artillery and types of artillery and Pakistan fighter jet JF 17 thunder and missiles
It's "classified" because USA stupid policy. Actually the maximum speed is 59 mph, but that would damage the engine.

Still a piece of shit. Regardless of price.
I think the estimated cost of the T90 is $4.5M.The guy may have omitted the $0.5M earlier in the narrative either inadvertently or he realized his mistake as he went on.
It depends on the variant. T90M are more expensive.

@@Aitelly what about the TOS thermobaric mlrs systems
Just some notes and corrections, I didn't write down everything, but the big stuff.
-The model of the top of the tank is inaccurate, CROWS are supposed to be on the top of the Gunner sight (the Box on top of the Gunners sight I believe is part of a prototype AI tracking site from a test tank)
- The Trophy kit extends off the side of the turret adding almost 2 feet to the sides and cannot be equipped with the TUSK 2 kit
- the loaders knee switch is in a non-operable stowed position, it needs to be flipped down for the loader to use it
-M830A1 is called MPAT not HEAT
- the tanks fire-control calculates a firing solution for the gun, all the ammo has the same accuracy and range effectively
-APFSDS is preferable for anti tank work, but MPAT and HEAT can be used as well (Multi Purpose Anti Tank) MPAT, (High Explosive Anti Tank) HEAT
-M1147 AMP (now called HEMP, High Explosive Multi Purpose), replaces everything but APFSDS
-M1147 HEMP Point detonate is vehicles including tanks, airburst is mostly for Infantry, And Delay mode is for bunkers or buildings
- The depleted uranium armor is on a lot more than just the turret and is combined with other armor Technologies from NATO Nations
-The AGT1500 was used not because the Abrams used the TUSK 2 kit and reactive armor, it was already being used
- The driver turns the tank by moving the handles like a motorcycle, the whole handle assembly moves together. You can rotate the handles like in the video to operate the throttle, the handles rotate with each other not independently
-The Current M1A2 SEP V3 does not have the latest 3rd generation thermal sights
-The tank is electronically limited to 42mph, off road to speed is about 35mph
-No Abrams is currently equipped with Trophy in combat
-Almost all modern tanks are vulnerable to top attack missiles
Not a bad video, it gets the bigger picture, but I thank some things got lost in translation and a military advisor was not used in proofing the final video.
This is the best feedcak we got so far.

That smooth transition from Abrams tanks to masterworks 😅😅😅
Unsurprisingly, it’s the most lethal and most survivable MBT in the world. 🇺🇸
Incorrect. The Challenger 2 is the most survivable, and the Leopard 2 has identical firepower.
@@NorthernNorthdude91749 nope.
It is not the best.
