Just wanted to correct some information from the part where the video talks about the different ammunition the Abrams uses. The M1147 multi-purpose round was designed to only replace the: M830, M830A1, M908, and the M1028 round. The US Army is still going to us the M829A4 because it can penetrant up to 880mm of RHA from 4,000m away, and it was mainly designed to counter ERA armor and active protection systems. But over all loved the video and the animations.
@@Aitelly Great channel, but I would suggest not having any background music at all. I also strongly believe people want to hear you speak and get information and not hear generic background music that doesn't really add anything and that people have to mentally filter out.
Just as an FYI the driving isn't correct. To turn the tank you turn the T handle like a bike, both handles on the handle are uniform so turn one the other turns you can alter the speed of the turn buy giving it a little more gas and holding the break slightly.
Just a little correction at 7:28. The animation shows the whole round going stright trough the metal plate (like an APFSDS round), but most HEAT rounds will just blow up on contact with the plate and then send a molten copper jet that penetrates the metal plate further.
"Just a little correction" to you too, lol. The copper liner never gets "molten". The high pressure forms an "arrow" that displaces the armor itself. It works basically like a "water jet cutter". The high pressure displaces the material itself. This is called the Munroe Effect.
@@elgranfreezer9117 The copper does get molten. If you see a slow motion of a HEAT detonation the jet of copper is a glowing fireball. It is molten, but yes it displaces the armor material rather than melting it. You are describing explosively formed penetrators, which are different from HEAT in that the liner deforms and is solid before hitting the target.

Not a bad video, but there are some things that are not correct. For example, the gunner would scan from 12 to 10 and the TC from 12 to 2. If a target is in the TC's sector he can hit the designate button, which will then slew the turret to what he is looking at. The driver's throttle controls are linked together. If you twist the throttle on one they both turn, they do not work independently. When you make turns in the Abrams, you just give it a little more throttle. I served in the on the M1A1, M1A1 AIMS, M1A2, M1A2 SEP, and M1A2 SEP v2. I joined the Army in 1998 and retired in 2020.
At first, I was starting to get irritated by so much being wrong in this video. Then it dawned upon me. It's kinda nice she still has some mysteries left. Thank you for your service. 91A-H8 09-13 myself.
When turning the tank, all the driver has to do is push the handles in whichever direction he wants to turn. To turn left, right hand forward, left hand pulls. To turn right, left hand forward and right hand pulls. The speed of the tank is controlled in the same manner as a motorcycle but they are not independent of each other. Also, the TC can find a second target and have the gun switch to it while the gunner is finding, sighting and firing on his target. Multitasking at its finest.
Truly biased phrase I've seen here is "Russian tanks are far better". Abrams is one of those tank that ensures crew safety, plus on unfortunate scenario where the crews bailed out or taken out due to immobilisation, completely _destroying_ it will be a difficult task for the enemy infantry, even if they lit up its own ammo storage, compared to blowing up Russian tanks.

the problem with the turbin is, that you can't stand direktly behind the Tank due to the hot exaust, it's a real problem, because soldiers can't take cover from enemy fire from the front
In my opinion it's not that big once you stand beside it. I am told that the reason it is not that big is because it has to be able to use existing roads and bridges without damaging them. There are pros and cons to having four crew members. Enemy tanks have three crew members and use an auto-loader which can reload faster on a sustained basis. But having four crew members means you have that one more person to help with repairs....and everything on a tank is heavy and hard to handle.
@@crusader_wolf1104 "a living tank loader can be replaced in an instant if needed." Yeah....guess who is going to replace the loader in an Abrams.......the Commander. It's not going to be the driver. It's not going to be the gunner. Yeah no.....it's going to be the commander......then the tank virtually loses the commander and the Gunner is making all the calls.
The steering is incorrect. There is a single brake. And you just turn the steering like a bike left and right and that takes care of the power transfer to each track. The throttles aren’t independent of each other. I was a tank crewman in the marine corps
Just a few critiques: First, about half of the video you nose sounds like it running a marathon, which is somewhat distracting; Second, about the 9 minute mark you said “air bust mode”, however I believe it should be air burst mode, but I could be wrong; and lastly there was the section where you switched over to a discussion on finances, and I about closed the video thinking that the military content on tanks was a bait for the financial section. There are just so many videos out there that use this tactic that it just gets on the nerves. If this was a sponsor section then to indicate it as such. However if this was part of the video subject you wanted to actually cover, then maybe indicate a time stamp to which we can fast forward to bypass that section if we just wanted to watch the military subject only. I hope this suggestions help with future video content.
I used to think the M1 Abrams was equal to the challenger two. Admittedly the M1 Abrams has a truly an American amount of machine. @@макслюлюкин Of course! if there are monkeys or chomobiks sitting in the tank, neither the T-90, nor the French sight, nor the icons of God in it will help them.
Actually no, it's because it's crew. Saudi Arabia uses very poorly the Abrams. And a low silhouette really helps a lot, because it's harder to hit, also reduces weight, that's pretty obvious, duh.
They use the British "dorchester" armour which is the best in the world. Also the Challenger 2 MBT is the heaviest at 75 tons has never been defeated in combat. It also has the record for longest tank on tank kill. It is the best protected MBT in the the world.
Abrams uses technology from Britain that was founded upon Chopham and Dorchester. But Abrams has its own unique armor make up and armor matrix that is separate and different, as such it can't be called Dorchester. However without the British working with the USA and telling the USA about their incredible technological breakthrough with Chopham then the USA would be "up the creek without a paddle". I'm sure the USA would figure something out but who knows what would have happened.
The MPAT DOES NOT replace the M829 series APFSDS rounds as nothing kills other tanks in direct fire, better than a long rod penetrator. The MPAT is simply meant to replace the other rounds the Abrams uses.
@@elgranfreezer9117 "IN DIRECT FIRE" meaning from line of sight, artillery cannot punch through composite armor. Likewise, composite armor is really good at stopping shaped charge munitions from ATGMs. What you're referring to is "indirect fire", I was specifically referring to "direct fire"; in which case nothing still has the penetration capacity of APFSDS rounds. You're right that artillery is devastating, but that is INDIRECT fire You're right that ATGMs are devastating, but the new ones only so because of the top attack option that avoids the armor. In MOST, DIRECT FIRE(Line of Sight) scenarios, an APFSDS round is your best tool for disabling a modern tank.
@@danielcervantes7826 Artillery has direct fire by the way. Actually the explosion is hard enough to blow Up into pieces any tank. The ATGM doesnt need any top attack. Simply the Kornet missile can punch through 1200 mm of RHA equivalent. Thats so much more of any tank protection.

Problem is, I have to keep pausing a video so I can do some Cypher'in as Jethro would say. This video, I just kick back and watch for a change, ha ha
I think for the cons, unless it was rectified, is that depending on the turret position the gunner is basically trapped in the tank, and can’t bail in case of emergency
While maintaining good quality, I think that Abrams needs major improvements... Perhaps in direction shown by Abrams-X. Gas turbine is blessing and the curse of any tank: Maintenance, fuel consumption, heat signature after all. Yes, it has a "multifuel" possibility, but as somebody very smart said, if you want an engine that`ll work on any fuel, It won`t work properly on any one of those.
The modern turbine is only slightly less fuel efficient than contemporary diesel engines, and maintenance on the abrams turbine engine is way easier than diesel engines, and because of how gas turbines work its works just fine on any fuel
@@ultrasupertrunk90 I`m still not convinced about fuel eficiency, but I can undertand why it works on any type of fuel. Though I meant working eficiently on any fuel, not that it won`t be able to do so.
@@peterrudenko4496 so the engine when at idle does have shit fuel efficiency, which is why the US wants to add APUs back to the tank, but when under load and maneuvering the engine is as fuel efficient as any other engine, and as for the fuel, there isnt any real performance loss
@@ultrasupertrunk90 price, logistics, manufacturing. This stuff. Diesel engine just uses diesel. Gas turbine uses a lot of different stuff. I do appreciate pros of gas turbine but the sheer amount of complexity it adds is just scares me...

Hope you can do Merkava and LeClerc
That sounds like a great idea
This tank is so HEAVY. but it's so powerful
Agreed!
Not really, 120 mm L/44 is interior in power and velocity compared to L/55 of the Leopard or the 125 mm of the Soviet tanks.
Request to do a video on the other modern tanks of:
1) T-90
2) Chinese Type 99
3) Israeli merkava series
Plz make video in Hindi language

the problem with the turbin is, that you can't stand direktly behind the Tank due to the hot exaust, it's a real problem, because soldiers can't take cover from enemy fire from the front
Also the turbine consumption is higher compared to a diesel engine.

It's wild that such a huge, complex tank only has 4 crew members
In my opinion it's not that big once you stand beside it. I am told that the reason it is not that big is because it has to be able to use existing roads and bridges without damaging them. There are pros and cons to having four crew members. Enemy tanks have three crew members and use an auto-loader which can reload faster on a sustained basis. But having four crew members means you have that one more person to help with repairs....and everything on a tank is heavy and hard to handle.
@@rael5469
Having an autoloading system too can also mean mechanical issues, whereas a living tank loader can be replaced in an instant if needed.

@@crusader_wolf1104 "a living tank loader can be replaced in an instant if needed."
Yeah....guess who is going to replace the loader in an Abrams.......the Commander. It's not going to be the driver. It's not going to be the gunner. Yeah no.....it's going to be the commander......then the tank virtually loses the commander and the Gunner is making all the calls.
Great video, hearing the ai breath every few seconds is distracting though.
Noted!
The steering is incorrect. There is a single brake. And you just turn the steering like a bike left and right and that takes care of the power transfer to each track. The throttles aren’t independent of each other. I was a tank crewman in the marine corps
Thank will Redo the Animation and Credit you at the endo fthe Video - Thanks again
Make a video on America's THAAD air defence system plzzzzzz
What about Patriot Missile
Thanks Will try to redo the Animation and Credit your inputs and many others.
Thanks again!
You could tell it was a ad right? Just fast forward.
Incredibly engineering, cool 😎 video
Yes BTW my Son's name is also Gabriel 🙂
I used to think the M1 Abrams was equal to the challenger two. Admittedly the M1 Abrams has a truly an American amount of machine. It doesn't have the protection or the situational awareness of her British counterpart.
The British Dorchester is still the gold standard, it has a 360 degree dual-purpose optical infrared range finder and 360 degree active protection at only half the price

A modern tank wins not due to its low silhouette, but due to electronics, optics, computers, and technology
Well said
You are absolutely wrong, it is not iron that wins, but people. that is, the crew of the tank, these Abrams of yours only burned barefoot Hussite shepherds in Yemen. armed with kalashnikovs and rpg-7s, and no technology and advanced electronics helped the Saudi mercenaries there, everything depends only on the crew
@@макслюлюкин Of course! if there are monkeys or chomobiks sitting in the tank, neither the T-90, nor the French sight, nor the icons of God in it will help them.
Actually no, it's because it's crew. Saudi Arabia uses very poorly the Abrams.
And a low silhouette really helps a lot, because it's harder to hit, also reduces weight, that's pretty obvious, duh.
can you make a video on fighter jet stick controls and how pilots maneuver using them.
Will do after we finish Tanks

They use the British "dorchester" armour which is the best in the world. Also the Challenger 2 MBT is the heaviest at 75 tons has never been defeated in combat. It also has the record for longest tank on tank kill. It is the best protected MBT in the the world.
We Corrected this Video Abrams Tanks here ruclips.net/video/5AdirNl4l1k/видео.html how to drive a Tank
I heard about the longest recorded kill! Wasn't it near like 5km? Something just insane
Actually no. An artillery shell can easily destroy a tank. Even a ATGM is better because have longer range and deeper armor piercing.
Wow Professional
The diesel engine on Leopard 2 is supposedly superior in every way compared to the M1's turbine. Some say that they want an american engine instead of a german one
Actually it's true. The 1500 hp german engine performs better and has lower fuel consumption.

Heat is not problem as anything warmer than background will stand out in a thermal camera., so any moving part will show there.
