We should all do the best we can with what we have and the opportunities we either create or the universe provides. The Viking Samurai demonstrates wisdom.....
Be so cool to see Don in a 90’s style, “Expendables” like movie with all the 80’s and 90’s martial arts guys! Viking, you should be in it too! Master Frank Dux should write it! 🇺🇸🙌🏻
in my opinion, the ring, or cage for that matter inst the ultimate proving ground for the term real fighter I like to call them Prizefighters because that's what they are now that doesn't mean that there inst guys out there that are absolute killers these guys don't look to win they look to hurt you permanently I know some of them and they would hang with the best the ufc or boxing has to offer but they simply don't care for fame are they fighter? hell yes I mean we can all throw down we just don't get paid to do it
@@melanodawido Street Fighters are like Backyard Basketball Players. Do you think a Street Basketball Player can compete with Michael Jordan or any other Top Pro? Street fighters are very easy to subdue for a Pro Kickboxer, MMA competitor, wrestler or Pro boxer. After working in a nightclub for several years as a Doorman-Bouncer, I fought up to 3 men at once and they ended up running to their car and escaping! I had 2 guns pointed at me and several knives. I admit that did make things dangerous for me but the hand to hand....no problem.
Hes a clown!! Talking down to people who are not around to answer. What if Jackie chan slapped this dude around!?! Also let's be honest here, did anyone seriously know who the hell he was before spawn or blood and bone? Blood and bone low budget and spawn old as balls!! Hes an actor too!! He must of forgot that!!
I lived in Hong Kong for 3 years and people from Hong Kong can’t understand why Americans are so Infatuated with Bruce Lee, overhyping his existence. They laugh at us and compared it to Germans obsession with David Hasselhoff. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
He talks about it because he is a martial artist, he just didn't decide to go pro...I'm into football, I played semi pro, I don't have to play professional football to understand the sport.
At least jackie was alive, and in his prime at the same time as bruce lee, and got horse kicked in the chest by him on set. Hes the only one who knows what hes talking about, lol
@Hyrum Wood As a guy who has beat a guy who was much taller, heavier and physically stronger than me size doesn't really matter that much(it does help though) unless its a sport with rules. Bruce Lee legend is exaggerated(probably. I don't know , he was addicted to training to the point it killed him so maybe he could do all of those things) just like with Jackie chan.
Van Damme has a verified professional full contact record 18-1 (avenged that loss in a rematch) and amateur record of 44-4. Van Damme trained in martial arts (Shotokan Karate and Kickboxing) since he was a child. That definitely makes him a "real fighter"
I do not know why people listen to this guy. He actually is the non-fighter lol. The guy does not know what he is talking about. ..👍👊😎 #STUDENTOFBOXING
In Europe, “Kickboxing” is a blanket term that encompasses virtually all versions of stand up striking systems. JCVD doesn’t have a background in full contact and what is known in America as kickboxing. This has been explored and even determined on this channel.
@@axelstone3131 please send me proof of this record.......I've seen pictures of him competing in point karate but not seen any proof of him kickboxing. Interesting he is from the era of Benny the Jet , Don Wilson, Peter sugarfoot etc who have tons of concrete proof they competed in kickboxi ng but no evidence of him in an actual kickboxing match other than anecdotes from unreliable sources.
Bruce likely would have been too old to be competitive by the time the first MMA match in the UFC was held in 1993, at 52 yrs old, but MJW is near that now and he might be able to competitive ... too bad we'll never know, but I'd never rule anything out.
For any strong man there is more stronger man. Why MJW is talking like that? He's stupid. He is disrespectful. We all can be beaten by someone. You cant be absolutely victorious.
Bruce Lee, was an absolute legit baddass. Every World Champion/martial arts master from the 60's and 70's confirmed Bruce was on another level to ALL OF US. Meaning we could not compete or spar with him. You don't eat, shit and breath and train martial arts like Bruce Lee, even it's philosophy ... unless you were the absolute best!
Jean Claude is an international action star and an icon. His movies used to open up on big screens all across continents . MjW has always been Mr straight to DVD .lol
Jai White only fought as a teenager and it was point fighting. Point fighting has nothing to do with real fighting. I watched some clips at the time and I had to laugh about those fights.

To add another thought. Michael Jai White reminds me of those military experts that know a lot about the military and how it operates but they never served. So they get older and regret they never participated in something they have so much passion about.
Bruce Lee literally for fun used to go around to dojos challenging black belts to fight him in full contact, no-holds-barred show of skill. And he whooped ass. Fighting his weight class in UFC Bruce would easily have been a title holder. Guy was dedication and class all the way to the bank.

@@fcrossface7875 you wouldnt believe me if I said the mind can overcome the physical, most of us can't achieve this connection but if anyone can, someone versed in Asian Martial Arts heavily influenced by Buddhism or Hinduism.
One thing I truly respect about Bruce Lee he said don't try to be like him learning jeet kune do but become the best version of yourself self knowledge. That who can beat who is a sports combat state of mind not pure martial arts because martial arts is not just fighting its away of life 💯
I think he means to say not a Professional fighter. In that sense they’re not real fighters, but he usually excludes himself from these conversations as if he’s a real fighter. He’s just as much a fighter as anybody else. You hit the nail on the head with that. The problem is a lot of Martial Arts actors have their egos unchecked because they don’t fight.
That's probably true, but you have to look at it from another perspective: Back in the day, Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Steven Seagal, all made their paychecks based off of their reputations as bad-asses. If Lee had entered a ring and lost a fight, his career would have been over. Once Norris became a movie star, he stopped competing for a reason, the same reason that kept Seagal and Van Damme out of any ring. Dolph Lundgren is the only one who engaged in any public fights after he became famous.
@@cuzz63 He supposedly was involved with the gangs and there was some kind of gang incident where gang members left his family alone after it because they were scared of Bruce. There was never an explanation what exactly happened but from the way he fought(not in movies) he knew what he was doing and had actual experience in fighting because you wouldn't know the things he knows if you had never fought anybody for real. Like that asshole kick that Bruce had in his book which sounds stupid will make your legs will give out.
Let me add when Joe Lewis praises Bruce's ability (and I have to stress that these two had a falling out before Bruce died) then you just know Bruce was the real deal
Chuck wrote Bruce Lee a letter where he said it was a privilege learning from Bruce and that Bruce was proficient in all martial arts. The letter was discovered a few years ago.
What I loved about Bruce Lee is this that man challenged all those who doubted him and won every fight it’s all recorded Bruce Lee is the pioneer and the king of the iron fist without Bruce Lee mixed martial arts would never be here
You are sharing fake news with us. Bruce Lee didn't win or lose any fights with serious martial artists, and there are no videos or pictures about that. Everyone fought in the streets. Its not a proof of fighter's level. UFC and MMA had roots coming from BJJ. The idea to organize fights without rules in the UFC wasn't offered by Bruce Lee when he was still alive. It was launched by Brazilians to promote their BJJ. Later, they started to organize fights with rules because fights without rules were almost prohibited. Now it's called MMA. This MMA isn't what Bruce Lee taught at his dojo. This sport was influenced by Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, not Bruce Lee's kung fu. Your idol, Bruce Lee, only made popular the idea of combining useful elements of multiple martial arts through his movies. Because fans of his films started to study his teachings and spread his ideas and jeet kune do.
Great stuff! I agree 100% I have been training for 57 years, so I am definitely a martial artist, however I am NOT a "fighter". I train for fitness, self defense and overall wellbeing. Thanks for a great video :)
does the training you have learned, help you kick another persons ass? does it give you the ability to hurt another person more effectively than an individual who hasnt learned such techniques.?
Love love love this video. You get it. People forget Bruce Lee was in the 60s and 70s and did things decades before his time. If he was alive today, we no doubt know he would train with the best of every art. Seagal is high level aikido and of course has aspects of things to offer both machida/Silva who are not just extraordinary fighters but martial artists and human beings. Van damme offered knowledge to many fighters for his kicks as well.
Seagal also well versed in judo and karate and kendo he has black belts in all of them which he mixed with his aikido why his style street wise effective
Neil deGrasse Tyson did an interview, where he brought up a similar sentiment. Basically, he said that he doesn't want to be thought of as a good, black physicist. He wants to be thought of as a good physicist. That spoke to me.
Neil said that when he was young and saw his own father become a vicim of racism. His father told him that they didn't know any better because they were ignorant and uneducated. His father saw things with a scientific mind and instilled that in Neil and that's the way Neil sees things in such a logical way.
I agree with this. If you consistently spar you are a fighter, which seems like something MJW has done. Now I don’t know how sparring has evolved but in my days it was full contact. Granted I was a fighter and not a movie star so a bit different scenario I guess.
When he started disrespecting Van Damme, that's when he lost me as a fan forever. It's just so ungrateful and dishonorable. He had previously stated that he'd never say an unkind word about JCVD because JCVD had been so good to him when he was an extra on Universal Soldier. Then he turns around and stabs Van Damme in the back. I didn't understand what Steven Seagal meant when he said that MJW wasn't a tough guy or a martial artist, but I understand now. He's got no honor, no respect, and no loyalty. That's not a tough guy or a real martial artist in my book either.
Seagal will never respect van Damme neither as a martial artist nor as a human being. Seagal hates the guy. It has to do something with their past. Probably Seagal didn´t like competition at the time. If Viking Samurai would have been into movies at the time, Seagal would also have badmouthed him. That´s Seagal style, he did it on purpose. Being nice to the competition was not in Seagal´s nature but he always showed respect toward Arnold and Sly but there were both no martial artists, that´s the difference!!!

Problem is, who decide the definition of a fighter. Dude whit no martial arts background at all but the fight every day in a Backyard somewere- is he a fighter? Dude who trains Martial arts everyday, but didn't have a real fight- is he a fighter?
The fact is if your a pro fighter, with 1 win and 90 losses you can be called a fighter still, so if your the GOAT martial artist you clearly can be a fighter considering you can beat just about anyone. Do you really think anyone is going to think bruce wasn't a great fighter, or anyone is going to feel guilty thinking bruce was a great fighter?
Bruce was a real fighter and a real martial artist who had legit street fights, a boxing match which is on record, challenged by Wong jack man who confirmed they fought, challenged on set of his movies, all confirmed by people who were alive at the time he was. And if he didn't pass away at a young age, 50 years ago I'm sure he would of been challenged by a lot more people. including the gracies who weren't in the states yet, and by the time the did come to the states and start there dojo storming Bruce would of been in his 40s, And probably would of perfected his art. But we will never know how things would of played out. how ever he was not a prize fighter. MJW learnt someone else's martial art, Bruce Lee invented his own so he's more of a fighter than MJW.
I like Michael Jai White but i don't agree with everything he says. Funny how he talks about JCVD or Seagal not being fighters in the ring but he say's Jackie Chan can beat Bruce Lee??? No, that make's no sense at all for him to say that.
I like MJW but I have to agree this is a line to draw with him he is doing essentially the same thing Bruce Lee did hanging out and training with professional fighters sparring with them teaching them and learning from them and he wasn't a fighter atleast not competitive same with MJW same with Steven Seagal teacher to the stars and visited with professional fighters and trained with them for a time but not being a fighter themselves
I think Michael Jai White is a great person but he ego is getting way too big at it gets on my nerves you cannot say who's not a fighter when you're not a fighter yourself
How many martial arts actors produced and directed their own films by age 32? Wrote books? Started their own martial arts schools? All while raising a family, facing racism, with English as a second language?
what's funny is he is very much like Seagal in that they both seem to have a hard time giving respect to other action movie stars for having real fighting talent while they themselves have never fought professionally.
Bruce even said professional fighting has rules hence why he didnt compete. His fighting n training method was for the streets. All those hong kong rooftop fights and challenges would make him able to be a fighter
One guy who never gets mentioned, who was a shotokan BB, and amateur boxer is Robert Conrad. The stuff he did on The Wild Wild West in the mid 1960s was amazing. Quite a bit of it still holds up today. The man could move. RIP Robert Conrad.
Most people forget there were many tough guy actors in the 60s/70s..who were more than just actors. William Smith, Rod Taylor etc.. were Not guys you could take lightly. Smith had boxing, wresting, body building & arm wrestling acomplishments which he held records for & was widely known as a Hollywood Tough guy. (Remember somewhere even rumours? Bruce Lee didnt want him in a movie.. as he was too big!)
@@stevenmasson4220 eh you’re wrong and putting false conspiracy. Jessie Glover former heavyweight pro boxer champion at over 200lbs massive muscle and tall like Joe Lewis could not touch Bruce. Get your facts straight. Bruce always wanted big guys in his movies. BO LO YEUNG is huge. Joe Lewis is very tall and was big muscle. Bob Wall was tall and big too in Enter the Dragon. His Karate Gi just covers his muscle.
It's about time someone mentioned him. Many (including myself) were addicted to him. Family and friends were in front of the TV waiting to see his "cool ass" moves. I think he was the first fighting attraction. Oppose to John Wayne and Batman. But I gotta admit it was The Green Hornet that got me to forget about (RIP) Robert Conrad.
Lost all respect for him when he said Bruce Lee was not a fighter. Bruce Lee was good enough to fight 2 or more guys. He would’ve been the greatest fighter of all time.
He did a few things boxing was a dancer singer was he good at real fighting no idea was he my hero growing up hell ye was not my era I watched older movies of Bruce as a kid big boss enter dragon and jcvd movies like kickboxer no retreat bloodsport hard target cyborg is bit dated but the movie as a kid felt so cool
JCVD has real fight experience, most of these guys have more real world experience than Jai White. You're spot on about all the race baiting and victimizing that goes on in regards to what should be seen as objective criticism.
The thing about Bruce though is even though he didn't compete, he was a fighter. He devoted his life to it, studied it, created a system. He lived it. MJW wouldn't stand a chance against Bruce. Bruce would size him up, NEVER underestimate him and take him out. MJW thinks size is everything. Not always
In my own perspective, I believe that MJW meant that JCVD, Steven S, Bruce Lee, are not fighters on a professional spectrum. UFC, Pride, WBF, etc; as a former Marine and Martial Arts Practioner, I see where Samurai and MJW are coming from, personally I never saw comparison from neither sides.
Let's keep Bruce Lee out of any comparisons to fighters now, because every fighters foundation is Bruce Lee. Let's face it, Bruce Lee was the man when he was here.
He's not. He sees himself on the same level as top-tier UFC fighters or boxers. He tried "coaching" Kimbo Slice on a movie set once. While Kimbo didn't have a very diverse skill set, he would've made short work of MJW simply because Kimbo has a lot of full-contact experience whereas MJW has none.
@@meaty220 Yes,he does see himself on UFC fighters level. He's not.He always makes excuses about competing in the UFC ( he could've competed in the UFC when he was younger )I think they would've knocked his behind out. LOL.

In fact people are complaining about fighter pay being low so it would make sense to take an ass beating for less money! lol That said he has said several times he respects real fighters and doesn't claim to be one of them BUT he's not gonna be the type of person that says "I'll get my ass kicked by them" not because he can beat them but because he's not gonna discount himself whether it's true or not.

It’s literally all DjVlad knowing that Jai is guna probably say the wrong thing by accident. Vlad is a thirsty bastard, but Jai also doesn’t know when to shut up it seems. 😅
I guess he'd have to define "fighter". If he's saying that unless you do some form of sport fighting, you're not a fighter, then he's discrediting entire lineages dating back centuries who fought to stay alive. Now if he's saying you're not a fighter unless you've fought in a street fight, then he's discrediting ring fighters. Jackie Chan never competed, but in several books I have about him, he's been attacked by people simply for being Jackie. He defended himself successfully each time. Bruce Lee's challenge fights, including one that happened in a YMCA are documented as well as his boxing match with a fighter in Hong Kong. Steven Seagal was not a competitive fighter, but even his ex wife mentions fights with drunk men that barged into their Dojo in Japan to fight him. Van Damme certainly had fights, both outside a ring as well as in tournaments. My brother never once competed in a tournament in all our years of training together, but in one street fight he seriously injured someone by side kicking him into a wall and splitting the back of the guy's head open. For myself, I haven't been in a street fight in ages, but I still compete in tournaments every year, including sparring. So are the aforementioned film stars fighters? YES! They are martial artist's, film fighters and real fighters. Fought in a sport fight? You're a fighter. Fought in a street fight? You're a fighter. Train to fight in your dojo, dojang, kwoon or studio by sparring and working with strategy? You're a fighter. And you're 100% correct in your rant about people making everything about race, gender and sexuality and completely remove any meaning to the words by tossing "ism" and "phobic" terms around willy nilly. If a film sucks, it sucks.
I'd have to somewhat agree with you. I train in boxing and bjj. I'm not into competing, I just want to learn so if I have to fight in the street, I won't be afraid. But I don't consider myself a fighter. My definition of a fighter is someone who actively fights. So segal isn't a fighter, even if he's been in confrontations before. He's not actively fighting. Bruce wasn't a fighter, he was in some sparring matches and idk what else but he's not actively competing. Chuck Norris was a fighter for sure. He competed back in his day. That's just my 2 cents.
. The single boxing match in High School was confirmed. Also the Wong Jack Man fight was confirmed. The fight in the YMCA was not documented or confirmed
@The Force Bruce had many "Gracie challenge" type of fights. There was no Kickboxing or MMA in the 60s Norris was a point fighter, Bruce didn't consider him a fighter Joe Lewis said Bruce was the father of Full Contact
I'm an MJW fan but he needs to stop talking like he's an actual fighter. We'd all like to see some of his fights but no such footage exists. And his "sparring" with UFC guys is just light grabass. It undermines the work, training and sacrifice that REAL fighters put in.
It hard to take a lot of MJW statements seriously, especially when we know about Lee’s, Van Damme’s and Seagal’s background, but it’s entertaining to watch him. And absolutely, movies should be rated on their quality and not on their political statements.
The guy is out of his mind. In a recent interview conducted by Vlad he said that Seagal was nervous doing the fight scene with him in "Exit Wounds" and that the director of the movie (Andrzej Bartkowiak) and the producer (none other than Joel Silver) told him to hurt Seagal for real. Who is going to believe that nonsense?
Yeah seems weird. I could believe it if the stunt guys were saying it. Seagal is infamous for wailing on the stunt guys and pitching a fit as if they as much as tap him back. Many stories out there of him getting people blacklisted in the industry.
Van Damn fought in point karate.Michael fought in point and full contact karate and Bruce fought in street fights every since he was a kid pretty much his whole life.Bruce was more of a fighter than any of them will ever be.
And two real fights : against a Karate guy ... Almost killed. Against Wong Jack Man , Kung fu guy ... on the floor beggin for Lee not to break his face . Let's define " real fighter".
I have to disagree on JCVDs record vs MJWs. Might want to dig a little on that one, but yep, Bruce Lee created an entire combat philosophy through experimentation and pressure testing. Leaps and bounds ahead of the game. Even MMA is still catching up.
Theirs a whole lot of knowledge and wisdom Video. I’m impressed at the honesty and integrity you displayed in honoring everyone you mentioned including MJW while questioning specific narratives. I think your commentary is kind, respectful and insightful! MUCH RESPECT As I am a Martial Arts Long time practitioner myself. I’m humbled by your position and positive attitude. Thanks for sharing and once again GOD BLEDS
MJW has a high level of martial arts/ fitness knowledge and skill. But when he says things like "the first buddhist monks were B lack A fricans" no one is allowed to question such random ideas?
Bruce Lee was a street fighter! That makes Bruce Lee even tougher than ring fighters coz street fights are not referee controlled environment referees for time scores etc . There's a quote from Movie "Enter The Dragon" Where Bruce Lee says; "Boards Don't Hit Back!" ☝️😎
I would believe jim Kelly who Said That "Bruce was untouchable you can be middle weight, light weight or heavy weight doesn't matter to him, he was untouchable."
If Micheal j white was a bar of chocolate,he would eat himself. Bruce Lee took the world by storm, and single handedly put martial arts on the map to a far higher level. I know Bruce was human, but he lived and breathed the martial arts,he wasn't there to win some bloody medal,he was training for a life or death situation. ( Including biting,or eye gouging.) Most of the top level martial artist of the day went to Bruce,to improve, and get better. That alone speaks volumes. So mjw,it's easy to talk about someone when they are no longer here, but why don't you give Bruce Lee the respect he deserves.i say this as a Bruce Lee fan, with all due respect to the other fighters that mjw is slagging off.Well done viking.yet again ,another great debate. All the best from Bonnie Scotland.
Im a fan of MJW, I respect him. But I look closely all those interviews and I think hes a lowkey hater, and tries do keep it down with those type of comments. Maybe hes not, but thats what I get from the videos. He put the guys down with weird reasons. Maybe because he doesnt think the guys are athletic like him, or big like him, or skill like him, or something like that. Its strange. All the guys make movies, for entertaining. Nobody there is on professional boxe, muai thai, mma, etc. Period! They trained with professionals, they are martial artists like them, but they are not fighters for living. Thats not me saying they cant fight if they wish or put their mind into it. They make movies and do 20 shots for a scene. They hit beautifully because thats what a movie should do, create the fantasy, and thats it people. MJW just need to put him in the same category, even if he thinks he is better than all of them. Hes not a fighter and hes a not a great actor too. Hes a cool guy, have a great charisma, make cool kick ass movies, have a great style, a inspiration for nutrition stuff. People watch his movies because of that, not because they on pay per view or because they want to see the next Oscar performance. He needs to calm down! Im not hating.
I was on the chunky side when I was 14. You nailed it bro, kids can be mean! I started exercising and dropped a bunch of weight by 17 and never looked back.
I agree with you on the matter. MJW is a great martial artist and actor. It’s the hypocrisy of his statements about other actors “not being fighters” yet somehow he has similar qualifications and he sort of implies that he’s different.
MJW is a real street dude. Street fighter. I grew up with him same hood. Dude is a beast. Really turned his life around . Back in the day he would literally kill a mofo. Don't let the movie persona fool you.
DJ Vlad is not Michael's friend. He's smarter than MJW is and he totally manipulates Michael into saying stupid things, but Michael is too stupid to realize it. I think Vlad has probably made MJW lose more fans than any of us realize. I know that it was a Vlad interview that was the last straw for me.
A person like Bruce Lee who could assimilate different fighting styles and come up with his very own unique blend is obviously not some one that MJW can even come close to
When people say your a hater they really aren't listening. I agree 100% with what your saying, because when you feel you can beat someone in a fight you don't need to express it you just know it. So expressing it to Vlad tv constantly says to me and others you need to look inside yourself and be honest. You just might have doubts about your owne skills and possibly some hidden insecurities inside. I actually like MJW , but he seems to believe no one is a fighter in Hollywood but him.
Bruce Lee was a real fighter but he was trying to use martial arts to get into Hollywood in the movie industry they have real footage of him fighting in tournaments so Bruce Lee was a real fighter
@The Crazy Amateur Runner proof that you're an idiot ? I have many ... do you have the time? Today it's all there, burn some time and check for yourself, before showing no respect for BL
@The Crazy Amateur Runner there's a recorded boxing match Bruce won against Gary Elms ,. After knocking Gary down several times Bruce was declared the winner.
Michael Jai White is an amazing fighter but his limited perceptions and opinions are not accurate at all Bruce Lee was a real fighter and would destroy Jackie Chan and probably would destroy Michael Jai White... also Bruce Lee being a philosopher and living in humility would never if he was still around be caught doing an interview like this... because Michael Jai White uses set move patterns there's no true fluidity like Jeet kune do, but since Bruce Lee is not here today we will never know nor do we really need to but it is a known fact that Bruce Lee was a real fighter may the greatest forever rest in peace.🙏
Jackie Chan knew Bruce Lee well because they met on the set of "Enter the Dragon 🐉 " He(Jackie) could say as much about Bruce from what he remembers and experienced.
Just because a actor hasn’t been on the fight scene doesn’t mean there not fighters ! We are All fighters in life in general. This is were opinion is only that. Opinion if we look into history 1.Senseibsegalbhad to fight in Japan when he opened a dojo in Japan,Van dame competitor in tournaments,Bruce had to fight since he was born .Let a respect Everyone and their Journeys
IMO just because someone isn't a "fighter" that doesn't mean they dont know how to take care of themselves. As stated in a previous video, the action stars of the 80s and 90s were believable because they lived that martial artist lifestyle as well.
If you thought Steven segal or Bruce Lee movies were believable something is badly wrong 🤣 they were about as believe as captain America fighting thanos 🤣. They were simply actors doing pre rehearsed routines against non resisting opponents.
I like MJW in many ways. I respect him as a martial artist and the things he’s accomplished, but the ego in his statements are very distasteful. He’s knocking other martial artist just to try and elevate himself. It’s very unfortunate. Thanks for another great video!
Great video man.. Too bad michael becomes a victim o vlad for views. I dont believe hes a bad guy. But man.. Some of the things he said.. He can take on the expendables?! Sorry but Dolph is too much for him even today! Keep up the good work Viking!
Hey Viking, i'm surprised you never did a video on Tony Jaa yet who I feel deserves some kind of respect his name as well. Tony Jaa is the most underrated out of them all and I feel he's one of the most skilled and gifted martial arts practitioners that I would put my money on against a lot of guys!! He has a pretty big extensive background in the martial arts and adapted a lot of techniques from other arts with his Muay Boran training.

Thankfully, Lee was able to sneak in a few movies starting at the very last 1.5 year of his life. Prior to that...there are zero movies, he was simply a veteran at live combat. In live situations he had fought; Black Belts, Pro Fighters, Ex military, Champions, 3rd degree Masters, Rival Martial Artists, and opponents that outweighed him by 100 pounds. His battle experience started as a young boy and lead all through out his teens + adulthoodhood. The few movies he DID make were only at the last 1.5 years of his life which was a brief opportunity for him to report his life experiences and give that insight into live combat. He only made 3 little movies plus One Hollywood film, a very short attempt at films but we're lucky he at least made them and snuck them right in JUST before he died to show us his insights on his personal life of hard combat. Lee is ranked by Sports Illustrated in the 50 Greatest Athletes of All Time, with near super human strength that could raise unbelievable weights that Pro Weight Lifters could not. mjw has never competed in any professional combat sport, he is just an actor and has been in MORE movies than Bruce Lee.
Honestly I don't care about what MJW says, Van Damme, Seagal, etc. They know how to fight, they know martial arts and by extension they can handle in a fight better than most people. Sure, they are actors but that doesn't mean that anyone can just beat the heck out of them, that's just silly. As for the haters, not everybody has to step in the ring/cage so ought to "prove" they are the real deal, that mentality in my opinion is a bit childish and just shows a lot of insecurity, I don't feel the need to "prove" in order to be "approved", I know what I'm capable of and what I'm not capable of.
Seagal couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag. Aikido has been proven not to work. It only works on a totally compliant person....not exactly useful in the real world.
Well I'd say Van Damme likely would fare better against someone then Seagal just because Seagal in the last couple decades has let himself go so badly. At this point he just has his big size but it's not an athletic size meanwhile Van Damme if you look at him in the kickboxer reboots he's still spry and can do fight scenes that don't look ridiculous.
Bruce lee was born in 1940 and not every fight in real life is filmed or on TV. I have never seen Michael Jai White fight for real but I have no doubt he could handle himself as could Bruce lee, Van Damme etc. I love your videos and keep up the great work.

Speaking strictly to martial arts, I think MJW feels that there is no one to challenge him or anyone who is a threat to him on a fighting level. One thing I've always learned in life is that there is always someone to humble you......QUICK.

@Hyrum Wood As a guy who has beat a guy who was much taller, heavier and physically stronger than me size doesn't really matter that much(it does help though) unless its a sport with rules. Van Damme has a verified professional full contact record 18-1 (avenged that loss in a rematch) and amateur record of 44-4.
Van Damme trained in martial arts (Shotokan Karate and Kickboxing) since he was a child. That definitely makes him a "real fighter"

@@varanid9 there is alot of truth to your post. The difference is Bruce didnt compete even before his career took off.

Neil said that when he was young and saw his own father become a vicim of racism. His father told him that they didn't know any better because they were ignorant and uneducated. You don't have to fight professional to be a real fighter
That my friend, is something you and I understand.
I agree with this. If you consistently spar you are a fighter, which seems like something MJW has done.

If a film sucks, it sucks.
you are 100% on with all this..
Ditto.
There was no Kickboxing or MMA in the 60s
Norris was a point fighter, Bruce didn't consider him a fighter
Joe Lewis said Bruce was the father of Full Contact
Haha.. here we go again. MJW just can’t help himself.
I'm an MJW fan but he needs to stop talking like he's an actual fighter. We'd all like to see some of his fights but no such footage exists. And his "sparring" with UFC guys is just light grabass. It undermines the work, training and sacrifice that REAL fighters put in.
SAME AS TO WHEN JVD DID A DEMONSTRATION KICKING NEXT TO A FELLOWS TEMPLE WHAT BS. GRAB THAT LEG AND EITHER SMASH HIS GROIN OR SNAP HIS LEG
Actually there is footage
There is a ton of footage lol
I think Jackie Chan said he would lose to Bruce Lee, because he knows that for the sake of his career and legacy, he'd better not say otherwise.
Exactly. Otherwise he’s receiving the same nonsense feedback mjw gets.
MJW is low key all talk and no bite. People only backs him up because of his presence or how he convince them that he's legit.💯
He’s not the only one that said it check the Isaiah Washington interview with vlad he says the same thing and backs up MJWs story
@@e-money225 No, he didn´t. Washingtom said that Michael Jai White "wanted him bad". Michael replied that it´s not true because he´s no bully.
Bruce was a real opponent he just got hired in Hollywood in US to act but he was real martial artist
Thanks for sharing and once again
GOD BLEDS
Michael Jai White seems to be a runaway Dunning-Krueger example.
MJW has a high level of martial arts/ fitness knowledge and skill. But when he says things like "the first buddhist monks were B lack A fricans" no one is allowed to question such random ideas?
he said that?? so he's an afrocentrist m0r0n. He's lost any and all respect from me. next up he'll say that Leonardo da vinci and mozart were black.
Ali woukdve bhsted him up please

Bruce was a real warrior
MJW is a legendary fighter in his own head .

As good as dead is a reflection on MJW's movie career
I agree with you on the matter. MJW is a great martial artist and actor. It’s the hypocrisy of his statements about other actors “not being fighters” yet somehow he has similar qualifications and he sort of implies that he’s different.
Bruce Lee fought every challenger while MJW was challenged and backed down but Bruce is not a fighter?
lol True story, you mean Mike Perry challenge? somebody else challenge him?
@@Bartron_Flat_Earth Yes Mike Perry lol
Very well said...
Bruce trained with elite fighters and champions of his time.
MJW trains with great MMA fighters of his current time.
Michael Jai White is not a fighter! His sparring sessions available only show him doing technique sparring with mma fighters . Not real sparring
So, when i said Captain Marvel sucks?...it doesn't mean i'm a sexist....it just mean the movie really sucks
Agreed! I used to really like MJW years ago, but after some of these Vlad interviews, not so much anymore.
@@chrissabbath4551 Ironically enough, I was a massive fan myself. These days it's hard to remember when he was likeable.
Bingo 💯
A person like Bruce Lee who could assimilate different fighting styles and come up with his very own unique blend is obviously not some one that MJW can even come close to
@@pridemutiti8513 Not even on his best day.
The subtle trolling of Michael jai white is what I love from this channel
You are the goat for this
Jai white has no room to talk about who can fight when no one has seen him fight

Great humble commit, wish more people did this.
In the late 80's while in middle school, all my friends and I thought Bo Jackson was Super Hero like and in many ways he was. He was an Icon.
"Pronouns: Martial Artist/Natural Bodybuilder" lmao, another great insightful video.
That was genius AF
IMO just because someone isn't a "fighter" that doesn't mean they dont know how to take care of themselves. As stated in a previous video, the action stars of the 80s and 90s were believable because they lived that martial artist lifestyle as well.
Exactly... I would never mess with Donnie Yen, Jet Li or Jeff Speakman because they arent 'fighters'
@@mrsam0496 Big facts
If you thought Steven segal or Bruce Lee movies were believable something is badly wrong 🤣 they were about as believe as captain America fighting thanos 🤣. They were simply actors doing pre rehearsed routines against non resisting opponents.
I like MJW in many ways. I respect him as a martial artist and the things he’s accomplished, but the ego in his statements are very distasteful. He’s knocking other martial artist just to try and elevate himself. It’s very unfortunate. Thanks for another great video!
Thank you mentioning that it's about the WORK not the PERSON

Hey Viking, i'm surprised you never did a video on Tony Jaa yet who I feel deserves some kind of respect his name as well. Tony Jaa is the most underrated out of them all and I feel he's one of the most skilled and gifted martial arts practitioners that I would put my money on against a lot of guys!! He has a pretty big extensive background in the martial arts and adapted a lot of techniques from other arts with his Muay Boran training.
Great video, I completely agree, everyone who chooses to do martial arts tends to want to become a great fighter and I’d never underestimate a single one, they’re all good fighters in their own way, I’d never discount any type of martial arts really
I have yet to see anyone as fast or a accurate as Bruce Lee.

@@nerdsworthpoindexter6661 Are you a martial artist? Have you spent a lifetime studying and interacting with other martial artist? I suspect probably another sideline do nothing expert.
I could beat up Michael.

I'm a minority and I completely agree with everything you have said so far and I have not looked at many of your videos but I am subscribed to you and I think you're pretty awesome and I like the content that you put out.
Speaking strictly to martial arts, I think MJW feels that there is no one to challenge him or anyone who is a threat to him on a fighting level. One thing I've always learned in life is that there is always someone to humble you......QUICK.
