    Is there any air-dry clay that can be used dinnerware? Also which air-dry clay can be used to make vases to grow plants? Would rain or watering plants would break the vase?

    How solid is this type of air dried clay pot compare to an oven cooked ceramic pot ? I'm thinking of doing some of these for Christmas presents but want them to be worth it and not break apart after 1 week :)

      If you live in a city with a clay workshop you can use regular clay and pay for them to fire it :)

    Hi Kevin, thnx for sharing. To use as a vase or plant pot/container do we have to seal the inside to protect from water? And do we need to put anything over the acrylic paint on the outside to protect from outdoors? Thank you in advance for any advice on this 😊

      I have the same Qs as above :) also, is there something we should do to avoid cracking in the future, if using these as planters?

      Rick W : If I make a coffee mug and glaze it the way u suggested, will I be able to use that?? I mean won't there be any leakage or something like that??

    • @rickw7903
      @rickw7903 6 лет назад

      Ankita Chaudhari ...I just put it on the outside of things for looks. I wouldn't use it on the inside of a cup and drink out of it. It may be OK on the outside for cold drinks. But yeah, it may leak if liquid is in there a long time. To drink quickly may be alright.

    I want to create water dishes and hides for my tarantulas using this material. Is this water resistant when it dries and can it tolerate high humidity, tarantula enclosures are pretty high in humidity and does it contain chemicals that can be harmful to tarantulas and other animals.

    • @catpaws1913
      @catpaws1913 6 лет назад

      Gold Piece probably not a good idea, air dry clay will become soft again once it's in contact with water, I'm still trying to find a way to make it waterproof, you can try using varnish for it. Haven't tried it yet.
