Really like your tutorial. Feeling so helpful and relaxed to watch. Looking forward to see more videos to come!
I so badly wish you would do a video about glazing! I love yours...do you buy or make them? Thanks for the wonderful tutorials!
I'd like to do a glazing video one day but our pal David Stone made one that you can see on the Still Life Ceramics channel! I use the custom mixed glazes that the studios I work out of provide. I haven't gotten much into formulating my own yet but I'm going to get into that one day when I have more time! :)
Hi Gina love your videos. I’d love to know how to handbuild a bust and attach a head for a planter 😊
Can you make one about glazing / painting?
Love your videos and how you do them in your living space. Can you share more about the table you are using and what the surface is. Did you have that made for you ?
Sure! The surface is called a Slab Mat and you can find them from most pottery supply stores, and even some art supply stores carry them I believe. Some of our team uses a piece of drywall which also works really well!
I love your videos Gina! Is the pot with the petals you are carving made with coils?
Hi! Can you use these techniques on air dry clay?
I looked for the finished product on IG but couldn’t find it. Do you happen to know which date it was posted on?
Love your videos and carving ideas. I’m new at pottery. I’ve been doing a lot of hand building at home. I’d like to have the round tool to make circles. Where can I get the one you have? I’ve seen round tools online but it’s confusing. I can’t figure out what the sizes are.
Thanks 🙏
How did you make the shape @12:07
Good question! It's two pieces I attached together -- the bottom is a pinch pot and the top is a disc of clay I pinched out to have a slight curve to it (so basically an almost flat pinch pot).
Lovely ideas! Tape a bunch of masking tape on the handle of your skinny tool, it will thicken the handle for you😁🌸
Oh great, thanks for the tip!!
Good tips. Did you pinch the flower bowl you were carving? I love the shape.
Jan Goria yes!
Can I ask what type of clay you are using? Loving your at home tutorials - thank you for posting :-)
Thanks, Rebecca! I'm using Black Mountain from Aardvark in this video.
Hii Gina. I love your vedios very inspiring. Can you tell me what kind of clay do you use?
Thank you, Darshi! In this video I'm using Black Mountain from Aardvark but in my practice I use several clay bodies (most of them are sandy, which is great for handbuilding).
Thank for sharing your mowlesh
Very good video Gina but some more lighting would help show the various carvings a lot clearer
Instagram? So I'm S.O.L? 😲
I'll live, but @ 6 in the a.m. following a day from trumpville, (hell) it'll require some sort of mood enhancement.
