Thank you so much! I also think that there are unique and traditional ceramics in various parts of Japan, which is very fascinating.

This pot is so beautiful. It is clear that you know exactly how your clay and glazes interact for the best results. I would also like to try this technique, I think. I normally use a white stoneware and carve textures for breaking glazes, but I was recently given several kilograms of a darker, groggy clay with a fair amount of iron in it. I think using contrasting slips like this might give me some lovely results. Thank you for sharing!

I love how these techniques you use are simple in some ways, complex and layered in other ways, rustic in feel but sophisticated overall - all at the same time! Very balanced, but intriguing. :)

The outcome is amazing.. i love your job i didn't know you can apply slip on bisque and directly glaze it.. i'll try a tiny piece and see if that tecnique is suitable for the tipe of clay and glaze i use..thanks for being such an ispiration

you apply underglaze on leatherhard and slib on biscuit fired pot, did I understand that right? I'm a MEGA beginner, so I would think that slib on a baked pot would cause cracks? am I wrong?
(apparently, because your pot came out absolutely gorgeous! 🙂)
supernice work!!! tx for the video!

Thank you. Yes, I applied underglaze on a leather-hard pot and slip on a bisque-fired pot. I recommend applying glaze before the slip dries completely to prevent cracks.

What type is the clay? Is it an earthenware like Terracotta?
Always so much joy watching 🙏

What recipe you use for the white slip? I never see slip staying on bisque clay usually it comes off on glazing firing, even before that. Do you mind to share the slip recipe for us? Thanks I love your demos and your pottery.
