    Since this video was an extremely large solo project and there was no way I could include everything I wanted to say here, I'm gonna say it now x)
    There were originally supposed to be 6 servers in total, but one of the servers I was thinking of presenting, Serein FlyFF, unfortunately ceased operations on 25th of December :c Apparently the owner was going through some bad health issues and the server wasn't doing all that well as of recent, so they had to discontinue the project for now. They're intending on releasing Serein FlyFF 2 with massive improvements to its predecessor later towards 2025 though, so I'd really suggest checking that out when that happens. Serein Flyff also had a pretty nice crafting and endgame loop along with a bunch of custom classes, so I'm sure there will be its own specialized playerbase too

    • @emenalus
      @emenalus  27 дней назад

      Maybe that was more the case in the past, for example in the 2013-2018 era when I used to dabble with private servers a lot, but they've improved a lot over the years to accommodate for the changes in server rates and different visions for what they feel like the game should be like. Private servers open quite a few doors for many different ways to experience the game, and for them it's a matter of finding a server that scratches your itch the best :)

      @PowerRangerPewPewPew 26 дней назад +1

      No its not. A few of the developers put back some love into the game. Which gala webzen gpotato gave Up. But beware most server just there to grab quick money. They will wipe as soon player base decreases. Only 4 or 5 dont. Mystralia is on of them which do not wipe and are very friendly regarding freebies.

    • @emenalus
      @emenalus  26 дней назад +1

      @@PowerRangerPewPewPew Yes, there are definitely some rotten eggs out there regarding private server creation as there is an easy profit that can be made even with some more half-assed servers. Some of the servers I tried were unfortunately like that, servers that were pretty much dead after a few months because creators didn't intend to keep adding new content to it or were satisfied as soon as they got their desired amount of profit. Nothing one can do about human greed x) But those are the servers that obviously are NOT included in the list.
      There's some servers that have a Seasons mechanic which is pretty much like "a fresh start" each time it begins, but it's something they do to keep their servers alive and interesting for people. There's quite a few who like it that way as well, so I see nothing wrong with it. Dragon Crusade is an example of these seasonal servers, but the characters get integrated to the main server afterwards (no wipes or progression lost) and they release the new content they come up with each season there first :)
      Mystralia is absolutely a beast server in more ways than one, they've really done a good job making it interesting while not bringing inconveniences to its players. Certainly a masterpiece at its own specialty :D

    I would've stayed on Mystralia if the necessity of having bunch of ALTs as buffers/farmers weren't a thing. If only those AOE class buffs were non-existent, it would've been perfect. I just wanted to focus one account that I can progress without having to make ALTs to play comfortably.

      Are we talking the usual AoE buffs you get from Seraph/Force Masters, or did the server come with additional ones? I only played with a Ranger to a point and didn't really have the time to try and get every other class to high level :o Assuming that's the case though, it's unfortunately a problem that's persistent in most iterations of Flyff, including the official servers :/ You could say that most players expect it to be that way. Sad to hear you didn't quite connect with it though, good luck with the server hunt!!

    Two things I wanted to say to this video:
    1. You forgot to mention that private servers are somewhat illegal or in legal grey zone depending in which country they hosted. They code they use is still owned by Gala Lab. So its questionable if you actually should play there, because its so controversial.
    2. There is no offical or private server which is able to fix early game, even low rate servers don't fix that ever. Just go to the mid/endgame almost instant. The only one might be Catacombs of Madrigal but thats basically a different game.

    • @emenalus
      @emenalus  27 дней назад +1

      Thank you for bringing this up! There's often a lot that could be said in these videos but with this one being absurdly long as-is, it's hard to make room for extra dialogue as it could risk people dropping the video before they even get to the actual content. Striking a balance is hard, and I have my reasons why I didn't feel like bringing these up was worth mentioning on the video :)
      1) The legal issue with private servers is certainly there and it's not a huge surprise considering the fact that you're basically utilizing the creative work of another company - it's basically the same as copying someone's art piece and claiming it as yours. This issue primarily concerns private server owners though since they're the ones hosting and monetizing a game that isn't originally theirs, and often times those who are willing to invest time and money for it have recognized the risks that come with it. To my understanding, Gala has also recognized the importance of private servers for carrying the game's legacy all these years leading to Flyff Universe, and likely wouldn't have seen as much success without the private servers helping to keep the core community alive. Not saying that Gala will just allow them to do what they please, but from what I've heard is that to some extent they're willing to condone their existence.
      As a mere player though, the risks primarily involved are the fact that the server could always be subject to sudden termination and therefore loss of progress, and mentioning your allegiance to a private server could cause you real trouble in the official servers - that's why you don't talk about it openly. If there's a good chance that just an end-user could get into some serious trouble in a certain country, I suspect that a person living there would probably be aware of this fact - and there's no way I could go out of my way to list every country where this would be dangerous. That would honestly take too much time, and the majority probably wouldn't care x.x
      And yes, me making a publicly released video about private servers while having my Flyff Universe accounts in broad view in my channel can possibly lead me to getting banned or something like that as a result, but I honestly don't mind. I've got nothing to lose x)
      2) This is very true and there's very little a private server can do to change what's there by design, and especially running higher rates than official servers won't make the experience any slower! However the intent of my video is not to provide a solution to that, but to offer an alternative to how the game can be experienced. The underlying issue isn't necessarily just the progression curve, but also how progression is made in the game in general :o
      I've actually had the pleasure of being in touch with quite a few members of my audience, and a very common issue I see with people who are first-timing the game or are returning after a decade is that they're not ready for the grind wall that official Flyff offers or the amount of time/money investment it requires to get anywhere, and most of them quit by 80s at latest. Private servers are good alternatives for combatting both issues, offering a chance to actually experience end-game although a little differently, and doesn't require that much time or money from you. If you're fine with the normal Flyff rates, then by all means just play regular Flyff! But there's different kinds of players out there, and I want to cater to providing an option to as many of them as possible. I didn't feel like mentioning this was necessary, people are free to make their own opinions over what they want out of Flyff or discover their desires as they go ^^

  • @MigoKazan
    @MigoKazan 25 дней назад

    Sheeeesh, those ridiculous rates. Aren't there any private servers with vanilla or close-to-vanilla rates?

    • @emenalus
      @emenalus  25 дней назад

      I was scouting some simpler servers too, but unfortunately all of those in question were servers which were already basically dead and had no longevity. The 6th server that was also meant to be in this video, SereinFlyFF was a great low-rate but recently ceased operations x.x If you want close to vanilla experience, honestly Neonara is your best bet. On the other hand, if you want a better chance to experience Flyff as a high level, I'd consider giving one of the other low or mid-rates a go x)

      @emenalus  3 дня назад +1

      Well player count is an important factor to me when I went on checking and evaluating servers since many here are primarily concerned about that :) It's also a big snowball effect unfortunately, if it ain't popular already then it's hard to make it the other way around. Thanks for the heads-up though, maybe someone will consider giving it a shot ^^

    • @emenalus
      @emenalus  14 дней назад

      Yeah, private server communities are much smaller in general and the PvP community is kind of a niche on its own in the game already. Most changes made to the servers itself are usually revolved around PvE too. Unless it's one of the bigger servers, it can be hard to maintain a PvP friendly environment, so for a PvP player like you I can totally understand why private servers aren't a realistic long-term option :(

    • @emenalus
      @emenalus  27 дней назад

      Finding a retro server is kind of hard in the private server community unfortunately, these servers have a cost to maintain and usually just "pure vanilla" is not enticing enough for enough people to make for the costs. That used to be more in the past, but Flyff is already a small game and private servers are even smaller. There's no true "retro" I could offer, but Neonara out of all these is probably the closest.

    which server does not rely on multiple characters? haha some servers have 500 active players but 400 of them mining lmao

    • @emenalus
      @emenalus  27 дней назад +1

      There is no server which wouldn't benefit from having extra characters in the background, but if I had to judge which ones are closest to offering a genuine solo experience, I would put my chips between Neonara and Prologic Flyff.
      Neonara's skill system doesn't have any levels, so whatever you can get from buff pangs and players is already at maximum potential. There's also the case where RM buffs for example are given to all players within radius regardless if they're in a party or not, so there's some guys who have their RMs stationed at Flaris autocasting RM buffs with FTool. Neonara's food items also scale based on your max HP! So you can get pretty far with solo on that :D
      Prologic Flyff as I presented in the video has Super Buff Pangs, which include all support buffs, including RM, Seraph and Force Master buffs at the same time at 80% capacity, not perfect but still way better than average ^^ They also have custom food items that can pretty much heal you to full for quite some time, so you won't have to rely on an extra RM alt if you don't want to for quite some time :p
      That being said, having extra healers, buffers and AFK collectors on servers which involve collecting is always a bonus, but that's up to you! Most dungeons aren't also designed to be soloable, so in that scenario I hope you can find some people to play with instead :)
