SaruStuff127 Think of it this way: 4 is thought of as a "death" in Japan yet you began your LIFE outside of the womb on the 4-4-94. Maybe LIFE is written over you much more strongly than death symbols and spells can affect you.

what i took from the “story” parts of the music video was a couple just going through an argument & like both the beginning & ending of the mv says “vicious words hurt like a bullet.” the girl must have said some really deep shit that hit too close to home? which is why i like the fact that they had her hand in the shape of a gun instead of using a prop, and made the effect look like he was actually shot by a bullet. after she “shoots” him, everyone suddenly turns on him and they too start to “shoot” him with the hand gun, until later on he realizes that he’s had enough of people’s bullshit, but instead of shooting violently like they did to him, when he shoots theyre attacked with colors. the scene becomes saturated and he just smiles and leaves. it showed that he knows the weight that words can hold, and instead of using that against them he took the high road.
rae I actually think that if you pair what you just said about the music video with the lyrics of the song, you realise that it was probably an abusive relationship (emotionally abusive at least). To me that’s why the music video started out with very little saturation, as if the relationship was drowning him out, something ongoing. When he “shoots” her with paint, it strikes me more as a break up, hence all the colour that came out of it. It was like what had been bringing him down constantly and making him unhappy was finally over and he could smile again.

Shoot Me is definitely in my top 5 Day6 songs. I really like what you said about the music video really reflecting the mood of the song. It really was perfectly matched for both the feel of the music and the message of the lyrics.

I remember last year, I was so into them, they're style of music is so powerful, dramatic and sometimes fun, that you really can't dislike them. I've always preferred the vibe of ''I wait'', and with ''Shoot me'', damn, it really brought me back, maybe it's even more powerful, these guys have really excited me a lot! It was wonderful! I can't wait for the upcoming songs!

So glad to see this finally! I LOVED LOVED LOVED the vocal melodies in this song. They were all so on point and this song reminded me a little bit of 2000s pop/punk somehow and I am honestly obsessed. It's so good. I have only casually enjoyed day6s music in the past but I LOVE this side of them and I hope we can see more stuff like this from them in the future because this song is amazing.

I was totally caught off guard with this MV and song. I was there since the first teaser was out, heard the album sampler, andwatched their Seoul concert fan cams, making me kinda have an inkling about what this song is gonna be about.But boy oh boy, DAY6 still surprised me with this MV! Beautifully created MV, the angst, the outro, the drums, the acting!!!, the extremely high note, EVERYTHING! Definitely the long-awaited comeback that we MyDays deserve.
i really loved the colour bomb towards the end of the mv, the saturation just made the effect so much better

I’ve never heard reggae rock done like this either and I absolutely love it. This is easily my favorite Day6 MV because of the story and the very blunt way it portrays the saying “Sharp words hurt like a bullet”. It’s just so good in my opinion. I feel like I’ve watched this way too much but I really do love it.
This is by far my favorite day6 song and music video. I love everything about it.

Since you asked: I loved Shoot Me, both the song and the MV! The first time I watched it I was actually out for errands and I found a cafe to sit in and eat a croassaint just to watch it and listen to it. And I was honestly blown away, there was so much about it that I loved that I was overwhelmed. I love it when songs make you listen to them again right away and when MVs make you watch them again right away and this was exactly that. One thing you didn't adress here, maybe you didn't find it as impressive as I did, but the acting was so great! So many things conveyed with just eyes and body position, I love it so much. It compliments the song so well. I loved this reaction/analysis video, PD, thank you!

this is probably my favorite day6 title track it’s amazing i love the harder sound day6 occasionally does (i wait was my first song i heard from them and i lived for it) they really pull off the heavier sound even though i know they enjoy doing lighter sounds and i appreciate them going for it.
