This old upcycling lady was trying to be open-minded enough to watch the video because in the cover pic the pants look good but when you turned the pockets upside- down 🙃😬 but doggone these look great! You just sold an old lady on your funky style young man. Thank you! 😂
I seen another upcycle video similar to this one but Bro you did a Good Job explaining everything! Next time hold the Camera on your Machines longer, most of us LOVE seeing what sewing equipment you use,,....❤❤❤
@@myronmitchell1791 thanks u very much, I appreciate the feedback. I typically leave a lot of the stitching out, but I will keep more in in the future🤙🏽🖤
cut a piece of fabric to the shape you want, you can just pin and sew it witha simple running stitch wherever you want on the knee like a patch or if you have a machine you can do any crazy type stiches u waannntttt :::::::) all the way around
It'll take a lot of time if you want to sew well but other than that I don't see why it wouldn't work, I myself sew by hand sometimes, just make sure to make smaller stitches so it looks like a machine have done it because it'll hold the fabric better than bigger stitches and won't fall apart if you wash/wear them
Im new to sewing and your shit is actually really useful dude‼I was wondering if you knew how to get clean hems on separate layers of denim that are curved (idk what if theres a technical term for it) like no faith wavy denim or hades tornado route pants. If you could make a tutorial or point me to some resources as to where I could learn that would be so helpful 🙏‼
so confused about the cutting part on deciding on how wide i want the pants to be because you measured 11 inches. essentially i have a 9inch leg width jeans and i want to make it 11inch long so does that mean i cut out 3 inch long from a donor pants?
what size were the pants originally?? i have two pairs of pants i want to do this with and i want the same sort of look but im afraid it wont be as baggy
@@JakeThacker-t1w my rule of thumb is typically 3.5 stitch length for thicker stuff and 2.5 for thinner. For zig zags just play around with width and length to see what looks best
Ironing the extra fabric straight might help, if not the fabric is probably not stiff enough or different than the original fabric on the pants. Lmk if ironing works

Thank u 🙏
Brother, although you shot the video alone, but I understood very clearly.❤
Can you flare all the way on the side to the waist, I’ve got some pants that are too small now and thought this could be a cool idea!! Love ur work
@@tahliacollinge1309 yes, a little different because you would have to cut into the waistband, but basically same thing

where did you get those pins? they look really easy to use.
amazing vid amazing work. love bro

does this work without a sewing machine?
how am i supposed to undo it do i js cut it or rip it with my bare hands like you do
so confused about the cutting part on deciding on how wide i want the pants to be because you measured 11 inches. essentially i have a 9inch leg width jeans and i want to make it 11inch long so does that mean i cut out 3 inch long from a donor pants?
Could you make a video on how to flare both the inside and outside? When I try to do it it seems to always have a weird fold on the flare :(
Cool cool, but why not remove the pockets? Or did you sew them down. Might try this with all my skinny jeans. Funny how trends work
add a zip on top of the flare area would be great then you can adjust it. can u try it and make a tutorial please
second this. I see it on a lot of old y2k and 90’s pants and want to replicate for an upcycle
Oh yeah! I’ve seen that before and I dig it. I’ll definitely give it a try and make a tutorial when possible!!!
just like the rick pants?

Would you say this is to hard for a complete beginner or is it doable?
Doable, but make sure you stick to the steps and practice the stitch on other material beforehand
ive flared earlier too, but i never get that baggy effect enough. What should I do?
Name of first tool call?
Can I flare like velvet type sweatpants? Like off brand juicy couture 😭
On pair 14 td started sewing this yr
What did you do with the floppy pockets
bruh wranglers are almost the same way. like topstitch is usually on the in leg but with wrangler it’s flipped on their cargos
i said fk that ima js cut it and hope for the best
How about an inseam flare?
You can do the same steps just inseam is less noticeable so that what i was going to do😂
how do you to the top of the triangle?

is ironing them an absolute necessary step?
No but it helps make it more sturdy
