How to sew your own jeans, I had planned on making this for a little while before anyone requested it, but here it is. I know the video is fast, you'll have to pause and rewatch parts which is normal for tutorials. There are many different ways to sew pants, I've shown what I believe is the easiest for beginners. You may find that there are ways of doing steps that are easier for you and I would encourage you to do that instead as long as it leaves you with the same finished product. I also recommend closely looking at a pair of jeans that you own, many of the seams will be done differently but it's still a good way to prepare and see what you're going for. In case anyone is confused, the term "facing" is both the name for the pattern piece of the pocket that is visible and a verb to explain the orientation of any piece of fabric. Everything in this video can be applied to other sewing projects, and other techniques and effects could be applied to this. I know that the audio isn't perfect and the video isn't either, but I aim to make better videos.
The thumbnail layout is copied from a similar video by Avery Ginsberg which I watched when he first uploaded it long before I got into sewing. you can watch it here • What it Takes to Make ...
Thank you for watching.

This channel is just insane, and probably for many of us, the sewing content we’ve been looking for is just spot on. Every video is just so relevant :)
I love this tutorial, thank you for sharing. I would like to emphasize the part where you said it might take a few tries to make pants you like. This is true, I'm on my fifth version of my pants pattern..

Oh my god how good this is! I know how to sew, so I'm not really here to learn.... But it's so refreshing with a proper instruction with ALL the details, not a watered down, simplified amateur version. And tips like how to make buttonholes without special machinery, very helpful! And I do love your style, the seditionaries t-shirt is what brought me here😊 keep up the good work 😊

Hey man, i really appreciate the Video. I was looking for an instruction like this for a longer time, and that you even give the a4 Pattern with it is just amazing. I would like to start right away but i got left with 2 questions.
First, i can't tell how tall you are, i really like the fit on you, but i am 1,90m so do you thing there will be any inconvenience with it?
The other one is, i don't have a serge machine. I don't know if you mentioned it in the video, but i found kind of alternatives you can do with a normal machine (Zig Zag stich). So do you think the project is also doable with just a Stinger Sewing machine.
Thanks for any replies!
Hey, for the lenght you can just add to the bottom hem of the pattern before you cut it, I'm a little over 180 and you can see how they fit me so you can adjust accordingly.
And yes, you can just use the zigzag stitch. If you have a newer machine you should be able to do everything with it.
Please can you tell the name of the wood you standing on the where I can get some to buy. Thanks
It's a swivel plate or sometimes called a lazy susan bearing between two pieces of wood, you can buy the parts at home depot.
Is the "arch" version of the pattern printable on a large format printer?
yes, 24"x36"
i’m making these but want a 36 inch waist, should i add an inch or two when i’m cutting out the pattern ?
for the sake of just like learning to sew, yeah add a bit to the pattern. It might not look quite right but it will fit fine.
Can you tell me what pair you are wearing, i’m looking at converse purcells and collabs of it but cant find anything
they were with Clot, the hair-on-leather ones.
@@anbentha yep found them. Im stealing your style (with love)
What kind of buttonhole machine do you own?
the one in the video is a singer 6700c, most machines can do it though just read their box/instructions.
yo what sewing machine do u use?
Pfaff 138-6 mainly, every machine is listed in the description.
Need some new vids bro😫😫 anbentha all 2k23
How can I make the pattern my size
taking or adding to the outseam is fastest if you're just trying to learn to sew, if you want an actual good fitting pair you can look up "how to grade pants pattern"
Thanks but i want to keep the same fit but i need to change the length and the waist size
Hi what size is the pattern?
around 34 I believe
what machine is this?? :)
pfaff 138-6
@@anbenthaohhhhhhhhhhh, those are very good!!wow!
And whats the difference between jeans A4, jeans arch and jeans letter? You say make sure you download the right one but then fail to say WHICH is the right one.
Its the paper size, letter and a4 are the names of standard size paper in north america and the rest of the world, a4 is an architetural size that you dont need to tape.
@@anbentha thanks for replying but I still don't understand, sorry. I know a4 is a paper size but which do i download for the jeans pattern? I'm in europe.
@@palomaalhambra2453 download the a4 pdf and print at full size, once you trim the borders and tape it together you will have the full pattern.
thanks but can’t be bothered
