Another interesting detail is that some of the staffs were reused later in other themes. The Kaukau Staff from Matau for example was used in a Lego Drome Racers set known as the "Slammer Raptor in 2002. The Drill Staff from Whenua was used in several Mars Mission sets in 2007 and '08.
Turaga Onewa (The brown one) was my very first bionicle back in the day. Fond memories with him, hacking and smashing with the hammer. Good old times
I wonder what you thought about it back then :D
For me too. I put extra rubbers on for stronger slam.
Also the tallest in the game and the film am i correct ?
Hehe, My first Bionicle was Pohatu Mata, guess we’re both fans of the Desert sands.
I think the heads-for-feet are just because they have the right orientation of pin slots and the flat back without the brainstem inserted, lol. They just work as feet!
I actually prefer the Toa masks, but the turaga masks look kind of cool too.
Onewa's mask is really bad looking in my opinion it sucks on each set it is used in
Nuju's mask is the best one.
In my opinion it's as good as Toa's masks.
I belive the use of the heads as foot was just because It was easier then developing a new piece just for that.
The cool part is that It made the Head pieces in the toas colors way more accesible now days. I replaced the heads of my toa mata and nuva to correspond to their torsos hehe
Our village elders, each semi unique in design, beautiful in its own way
Is this channel new? If not then this is veryyy underated. The way you go into the details is facinating. Here, take this subscribe and maintain the quality content ;)
It says channel created 2014. Although I bet he just used this account to watch stuff for a while.
Fact checked and yep it seems like it. His first video was made 6 months ago although me might have had some stuff before that he unlisted or privated
I recently bought the all Toa Mata, Turaga, Bohrok Va and two Matoran: Jala and Onepu, on Ebay. It's so great to have them and they're all so cool. I was born in 2001 so most of them are the same age as me. I got interested in Bionicle in 2006 and I liked Bionicle all the way to the "Stars" sets. Unfortunately, I gave all of my Bionicle sets away when I became a teenager. But I was always so sad that I missed out on the 2001-2003 period simply because I was too young. So now I decided to buy me the sets I always wanted.
I bought all the Barraki and the Toa Mahri on EBay too. My childhood is complete.
Eh... 2004 and.2005 is not that amazing figurewise tbh.
@@returnedtomonkey8886 I agree to an extent. The figure's design was a bit weird and made it difficult for possibility because of the gear action in 2001, but the masks and some of the mechanics (mostly the disc launching mechanics on the Vahki) are the most interesting in my opinion.
The Turaga's design has so many little details for what is effectively a Matoran figure. Arguably just as much as the Toa, it's a shame they stopped making Turaga after this generation.
We got Turaga Dume in a set in 2004. And after that point, we really didn't see any other Turaga in the story. Turaga Lhikan is probably the only major Turaga that we're missing, although he too has a canonized build.
@@jackpfefferkorn3734 I think it makes kind of sense from a lore perspective - there are only so many elders existing in the Bionicle universe. And these particular elders, achieved their wisdom through experience, and went through many challenges.
Nice review! But can you show sometimes frames with bionicle sets closer, possibly from different angles, because you have such great camera.
Vakama's mask always has the best look in my opinion.
I really enjoyed your videos and how professional and well edited they were. I was really surprised to see you're a brand new channel. I'm looking forward to more of your videos!
Gathered friends, listen again to our legend of the bionicle.
As the Toa, they also have multiple Kanohi collectibles in their respective colors (and also some misprints), that grant them the respective mask power
Wait, so those kanohi were for Turaga? I thought all 12 were for Toa
For some reason we used to call these the "little brothers" (of Toas).
Fusion instructions are usually included in the normal set instructions. Since the Turaga instructions are filled out with the set instructions on one side and a poster on the other, I don't think there was room for the fusion instructions. (Not unless they went to two pages.)
Also, maybe they planned to release it with a magazine, but that fell through.
I remember these these were my second Bionicle I got from my uncle who bought these for me at Walgreens back in the day.
5:13 I’m pretty sure it’s just a design choice at this point Bionicle was very soft and kid-friendly
they probably just wanted to save having to create a new piece
Well, I'm pretty sure Lego wanted to show the ability to customise and use pieces in different places than they were used in sets. Could Lego make new mould? Yeah. Could Lego use some technic pieces to make feet. But they used heads. And that looks pretty cool
Old veterans wearing the heads of their enemies!
I don't know if I agree with you. I always thought BIONICLE sorta aimed at older kids, even here. Just in more subtle ways, like maybe the story a little more challenging. Like hard dialogue in books and MNOG and such. The atmosphere… etc. Not sure how that has anything to do with feet though??!
why is Tiny Whenua so funny to me XD
I only had Vakama, but he still ended up having my favorite mask and what I ended up using for our own Matoran Moc/oc so it ended well
Dude your channel makes me want to buy all my old figures again. There’s a special spot in my heart for bionicle from 01-04
I had Nuju growing up, still think its the best looking mask mb followed up by Whenua
wow this brings back some memories
I can tell you did your research well done
How many bionicle sets/waves are you planning to review?
I plan on doing all of the sets from 2001-2003 aka all of the initial Mata Nui sets. Depending on how people like them this could extend to the entire line of Bionicle
@@AllOutBrick Could it be you have a lot of sets still not unpacked in cannisters/boxes? That's very rare.
@@AllOutBrick Please make revievs of all sets of Bionicle. You are the best :)
I'm pretty sure this fusion couldn't exist due to Onewa's racism
Yoo, I never knew there was a Turaga combo build, it looks better than the Toa combo
Onewa is pronounced as “oh-ney-wuh”
biosector says it's actually oh-NEE-wah
I spotted something when I was a kid and I don't know if it is actually the case, but the Turaga and the Toa Metru's heels both look a lot like Kini Nui/the Coliseum. It made me feel like the design of the Toa/Turaga face was designed to look like Kini Nui from the right angle.
Nuju is the Turaga who speaks in the language of the flying Rahi, and thus, you won’t understand what he’s talking about!
I never had any of the Turaga. Never saw them been sold in México. :(
I always thought nujus mask was the coolest mask out of the whole of bionicle. So distinct
Back in the days I leanred about Bionicle too late, I missed the turaga line. I really wanted them back then, but alas no turaga :(
The red one was the first bionicle I ever got when I was only 3 years old lol.
Dude if they use the heads of their enemies as shoes that's metal af
If we descend into these tunnels, we may never return.
I'm actually glad not every single stupid fusion model was somehow forced into the canon lore just for the sake of it 😜.
I feel like the turaga as of late have. Beeb ridiculously expensive. I keep seeing on bricklink them used for $20.
they're "cute", never seen them all together like this (sans the promo art)... I've only got Whenua (he's the shortest!)
Imagine your baseball coach wearing skulls for shoes
Had no idea Jared padalecki was a bionicle fan!
Poor vakama got roasted twice in mol
Once when jala mocked him
Second when tahu said,: this one's for me, wise one
I always called them "old guys" as a kid.
Am I just forgetting things, or does Turaga Whenua have almost no story significance? Vakama was the leader of the island of Mata Nui, Nokama was sort of second in command, Nuju had his quirk of speaking in rahi language, Matau got mind controlled by a krana, Onewa had some screentime in Mask of Light, and Whenua has.... nothing at all that I can think of.
Bigger Tohunga?
You look so much like sodapoppin its unreal, even have a mole in the same spot
He is
OLD PEOPLE: THE ACTION FIGURE
Turaga = B tier
They used heads as feet to be similar with their size
The Turaga's feet is just a set design.
Also, did you just refer to Onewa as "Onua"???
Onewa is pronounced as “oh-ney-wuh”
Average Vakama fan vs average Onewa enjoyer
Everyone gangsta till you realize aging in bionicle is weird
Bionicle:
Turaga:
Vakama.
Nokama.
Whenua.
Onewa.
Matau.
Nuju.
Can I have them please 🙏
Yeah, no reason for the heads for feet. Lego just thought it'd be a good proxy
😩 the toa squabble like gukko birds over a bearing.
They like little yodas
Full of wisdom, these elders are.
😡BACK YOU FOUL CREATURE! ONE MORE STEP AND I'LL-
I'll take it from here, wise one
