- Welcome back for another POV video! The DTS is the last of the classic, comfort focused Cadillac sedans and is unlike most modern cars today. I will first give you a tour of the car. Then I'll go on a drive on the highway, out in the country, and in the city. Finally, I will finish it all off by performing an acceleration test. There is no commentary in this video which emphasizes the experience and sounds of the car. Enjoy!

Had one, ocean liner on the highway. Only problem was the northstar engine developed oil leaks. Got rid of it. Found out that once they got a lot mileage this became a problem. Hence the end of the engine. Very underrated for power. It was a beast on the highway. Very smooth and strong daily driver.
i drive a 2006 dts and i enjoy it as my daily driver.

I’m sorry I saw this late. I had a 2006 DTS. Purchased in may 2006. Drove it for 182,000 miles. For 6 yrs. Now driving a 2018 BMW 740. I’m happy with the BMW, however if I can get another DTS, I would be very happy.

I daily drive a 2011 DTS the car is very smooth and quiet the engine has to be under rated because it’s a freight train on the highway 90 mph is nothing in this car the engine is as smooth as an Sewing machine coming out of a Chrysler 300 C and I have to say this car has a much better highway ride , the Chrysler 300 was to stiffly sprung , The leather is thin and hard and the plastics are cheap
People can all say what they want, listening to the ones that never actually owned one, going by oh they trash, it has the Northstar, smh they don't know what they talking about, these cars are really good in many categories, only one issue, and that's long as it doesn't blow a head gasket, other than that they ride and perform really well, way better than a lot of vehicles, and the sound of that Northstar is unmatched, even the feel when hitting it, oh it will go, and keep going to, just have good brakes ....

i hate that Cadillac stop installing the auto pull down on the trunks. I miss that on mine.
I completely agree! Either having the pull down or a trunk that closes on its own would be great

Thank you, Lon! I have had a very good experience with all of the Northstars I've owned/driven. However, every car is different and I certainly could just be lucky, but from my experience I highly recommend them 😁
I hear the 2004-2011 Northstars have coarse headstuds which pretty much fixed the headgasket issues.
Pre '04 Northstars had issues with oil leaks and head studs pulling out of the block, 2005 and up apparently helped fix these issues. Main thing on these is the transverse layout is a pain in the butt to work on, and the transmission reliability is give or take depending on how you drive. Just drive it like you're driving the president around and you'll be good.

Excuse me, I bought a car of the same style in Toronto, which is beige in color and produced in 2007. Can I ask if this car can be remotely started through the car key?
Was the column shifter standard? I'm looking at a 2008 DTS but it has the floor shifter?
Column shifter was only available with the bench seat option.
I too sit in every seat of my car and touch every last feature prior to driving every day

Thank you!! That was a little bit of tire debris, I saw it on the road ahead and thought it was small enough to fit under the car without hitting, but it did graze the front end. No damage though which was lucky 👍
