Question, what's the draw of playing a game like that? Unless I'm misunderstanding, you're not actually playing the game, you just focus on building a team, then hoping it does well on its own? Wouldn't actually playing a fifa game be more enjoyable, or am I missing something

@@Grumpisaurusthe draw of a management simulator game is in... managing! like a game where you fix cars but never drive them or a game where you manage a team of game devs but never actually make a game yourself or even play them. you just wanna manage stuff and be pedantic. some management sims are slow, casual, and strategic... others are fast, frantic, and nerve wracking. there's something for all management lovers of all types.
@@Simonetti19 it's a gen 3 game. the physical-special split wasn't properly implemented until gen 4. gen 3 split has typings locked in either physical or special. i.e. all water moves regardless of if it makes contact or not are considered special moves. Ghost falls under the physical category thus making the swords dance strat viable

Neat idea! Would be cool to see a version of this where mons ai only controls move usage, but the player can still determine switches and item usage. Could maybe even have some kind of obedience mechanic that factors nature and trainer relationship. A disobedient mon can have a chance to refuse to fight, or refuse to retreat and use an item or switch out, while a very obedient mon could maybe sometimes be given a move command or some other kind of boost by the trainer.
If you want to build on this idea, how about you try to incorporate the way that the Battle Palace works, and have the nature of each Pokemon matter as well for determining which move gets chosen?

Pokemon autobattler sounds like so much fun, maybe not in the context of a hardcore nuzlocke, but I'd love a romhack that is built around auto battling.
I now want to see the greatest nuxlocker of all time create the greatest nuzlocker AI to complete some Rom Hacked games. Basically Pokemon Challenges will lock in the AI at the start of the run with the logic it will use in battle, and no changing it once the challenge starts.

Ahhh, This is the greatest AI ever. Masterball, Magnitude on Flying types, Mirror Coat.
I think the Master ball is because the only trainer class in the base game that has balls is the thief class.

Why does he need to swords dance before using shadow ball? swords dance raises attack and shadow ball uses special attack to calculate damage.

So basically its like that Hoenn Battle Frontier challenge where they fight based upon their Natures. Except its not Nature based of course.

This is definitely a bizarre challenge. You're effectively planning out which pokemon to lose in each major battle
next step is to have the AI control his team but wolfey try and stop it by controlling the opponent's team
