Dude went from Napoleon Dynamite to Bobby Hill in the course of 13 minutes!!!
If you pause at 12:47 you will see that this bike does not have clearance between the crank arm and transmission housing, making conventional riding impossible. If you run out of gas or the engine quits, you will be pushing this puppy. It is also a good idea to make certain that oil is present in the crankcase in the correct amount BEFORE adding fuel...
You can tell a good mechanic by the tools they use! Slip joint pliers are not made for hex nuts but a open end or box wrench is! If I saw someone using a per of pliers on my bolts or nuts unless stripped I would come unglued! Been making my living work on motorcycles and doing machine work for 45 plus years!!!!!!!!
i don't think anyone should pliers or wrenches on their nuts
YAWN
Jeff Bicht shut up old man
@@robh.3124 Lmao 😂
100 % correct. Use the correct tool for the job.
9:22 You can use compressed air to remove the handlebar grips. Stick the end of a tube air nozzle under the grip and blow.
Or wd 40
You're correct. Adding the engine oil is definitely a pivotal part in getting the motor running. I'll add an annotation. Thanks for noticing.
9 Years later Oct 2022, this early BikeBerry installation is still good today.
The most Cleanest Professional simple and easy installation video i have ever seen on the internet. love it ...im subscribing
Yes, it's a 26" Micargi Men's Tahiti. Keep in mind that they recently made a design change where the cranks are designed for forward pedaling which means the crank housing is in front of the seat post instead of underneath it. This makes installation a little more difficult, but still doable.
What name of a good 4 stroke kit motor wise
How are you doing, I see your video was published long time ago, I got a question:
What is the right name of a new crank shaft you use on approximately 4:40 in your video?
Is it threaded 3 ps crank shaft?
Thank you.
Step 1: Vote for Pedro
Gosh
Yea I'm definitely switching too the 4 stroke I'm tired of the CDI boxes on the 2 strokes getting fried all the time
Thank You im plaining on putting everything on now in next week. Thanks alot bikeberry!
appreaciate the diy video i been going over it all day long ... been looking for more diy videos as i plan on studying my but off on these videos until i just know what to do without thinking about it do will be checking your other videos out ty!
Good tutorial, I now feel confident about to install my first 4-cycle kit
excellent video very well made with detail instructions
Napoleon Dynamite does motorbike installation tutorials?!
+Ryan K hes working for bikeberry now!!!
Duh
@Cornel Rusu IKR, he's more like Bette Midler's grandnephew
Well hes gotta tow kip into town somehow
Great instructive Video...Respectfully suggesting chafe padding of the motor mount clamps to preserve paint. Use old inner-tube material or what-have-you.
I love this dude. Super good vibes
Very good video, please make more! 😁👍
Awesome video!
Thank for you time and show put together motor bike.
Always glad to help.
You did a fine job with this video. Thank you for posting. Ignore the trolls. You did a real public service.
Sure, a public service showing how not to do the job.
Good job
Great job on the vid! Question: Does the geared transmission slip? I've heard that can be a problem. If so, what can you do to correct it? Thanks again.
Also , removing the clutch springs improves clutch and overall motor performance. It allows the clutch to fully grip at low RPMs
I tried that, and my bike stalls at idle because it grips. Yes, I played with the idle speed, but couldn’t get it to stop so I put the springs back in.
you really just gotta bend them a little. there’s a video on here that shows that pretty sure.
Is there a tutorial for doing this on geared bikes? Also my friend has one, and it compression starts, and has a clutch. What kind of build would I do for that?
My kit came with the transmission separate from the engine. Do you have instructions on how to assemble?
Question can I add on a shock fork on a beach cruiser and if a gear block can work on the back wheel just asking for you advise bless up 🙏 you self out there
Where can I find information on how to break-in this engine after installation? Thank you @BikeBerrycom
I have the same bike frame, but in my kit I got a long axle that for a mountain bike, where do I get that central axle that has a thread? or how did you do?
How did you bolt the engine in to the mount with the other 2 covered?
Don't forget to let people know, one pedal is left thread and one is right hand threaded.
Your website for BikeBerry shows a couple of different complete four-stroke motor kits there. Which one is this kit?
Thanks Napoleon
Yes i was wondering if we can convert an e bike to a hybrid using this method however I am unsure because of the electric motor being on the back wheel and as well as it also being twist throttle based
Please make a video on how to install electronic starter in 4 stroke or 2 stroke engine.
Nice job , when covering splices exposed to the elements a small tie wrap keeps fraying next to nothing . Thanks be
I have an Micargi Pantera 7 Speed and I'm just curious does the flying horse has made any 2 stroke 49CC engines
Can it be installed with a jack shafts on a mouthing bike to be able to shift the gears while riding and have the engine power the sprockets
What is the name of the American to European conversion crank you are using pedal assembly? I am looking to buy one online.
I have a question about the coaster brake arm. Do I need to reinstall it if i will have a rear and front brake
Will the pedal also clear a belt transmission or is a wide crankshaft needed?
Thank you
I'm using this kit on a Unisex bike. How to add a support to the engine. Probably not necessary as the engine will be totally exposed. Thinking a support bracket would help keep secure. Any ideas. Tia.
Hey BikeBerry, could we get a video showing this 4-stroke installed on a typical hard tail mountain bike like a Specialized Rockhopper?
Also, does installing a motor mean that the front derailleur and 3-speed chainrings can no longer be used?
I would think that motor shelf might get in be way of the derailleur mount. If the crank has to be replaced to allow for the thickness of the engine and mount to clear the sprocket then I see it being a problem
Do these kits come with 3piece wide crank set for mine did not come with the long drive shaft in only came with the peddles
Would it make a difference if adding an expansion chamber and smaller tooth sprocket?
hey, what is the purpose of those two vinyl hoses coming off the carb?
Can the foam from the carburetor filter be exposed? what happens if it gets exposed? exposed that I say is without the protective cover. thanks.
Can this motor be pedal started? Or do you have to use the pull starter?
How do you put the muffler on. The bolts protrude from the engine and are to long. Looks to only fit the stock box muffler it came with.
what maintenance is required for kits like these and how often? how frequently do we need to change the engine oil? from where can i buy kits that require minimal maintenance?
Will this engine fit on a Micargi Falcon GT?
Would I be able to make this work mounting it above my back wheel?
Hey I was looking at these motors at ebay and found one for 22 bucks full kit is it worth it?
Do I need to install the pedal chain or can I just ride without the need to pedal
Anyidea where to get the correct crank shaft?
what is the max length the mounting plate extends too?
So..you added clamp brakes rear and front aside from the coaster brakes?
Also will it mount on a 29 inch mountain bike or is the max size only 26 inch
So what happens with the original dust cover. DISCARD OR KEEP FOR SPARE???
Does the engine kit come with torque specs?
what are the needed dimensions for the engine to fit?
This dude got a haircut halfway through the video WTF!!
Russell Fedorov 😋😂
Can kits like these work with a multi-speed bike?
is that bike a huffy or Schwinn?
Hey guys I really really need help I’m trying to install a 4 stroke into my occ Schwinn but I don’t have an adapter can you guys show me how to do it?
Could you mount this kit to a larger frame bike (28"-29") if you modified the chain to make it longer?
+ColtWKnight the chain that comes in the kit was way longer than I needed for 26s. it should be long enough easily for a 29 were only talking about 3 inches of chain-----my 26 inch build I had about ohhh 5 inches left after I cut it where I needed it you should be good bro
Is their a govenor on these im not seeing one but topping out at 15mph high rpms...are they really this slow..
How come mine did not come with the crank shaft, are they suppose to come with a crank shaft, my bike can't get built now until I get one, there is still 3 inches or so left wen useing big pedels you will need a 8 inch crank shaft for the larger pedals, also with my beach cruzer which has one fat bar needs extra large engine mounts which the kit ones don't fit as well as the fule tank one's aswell
What was the purpose of the drilled hole in the handle bar??
can you use a road bike for this engine?
Starts with a coaster brake on the rear wheel, no brake on the front wheel, ends with hand brakes on both wheels.
Thinking of doing this with my Onyx Genesis 29inch -- can you tell me where you ordered the Grip and Cables and would they fit the Handle Bars of a Onyx Genesis 29inch from Walmart???? thanks
+Kk Andretti DID IT WORK???? I need to know!!!!---like,.. quickly because im about to buy THAT bike and do the same thing THIS WEEK-----did it work????
What was the reason for drilling the hole in handlebars
it's because the clutch has a dimple that fits into the handle bar to keep it from slipping.
I got a 4 stroke kit with a#25 chain?is this normal all my bikes have a 415 or #41 chain?
I have a Firmstrong urban man beach cruiser but the coster brake arm doesnt come out like the one in this video. its all connected how to i put the drive sprocket?
i had same issues so i use my cheater pipe to stick the coaster arm into and a big ass wrench for the hex nut.baam
What size bottom bracket did you use???!!!
Does the carburetor need to be assembled like a 2 stroke ?
What gas octane should be used for this engine? 85/87 or high octane like 91?
i have limited mobility but want to get out on bike rides with my kids ,, is there any way to do a build like this on an adult trike ?
Unfortunately our engine kits do not come ready for tricycle mounting. Due to the geometry of most tricycles, our engines would not be able to be mounted safely.
Where we can buy it?
Can i get this kit in portugal ?
What about the 4 stroke oil? How much do we put in the motor with oil?
My 4 stroke clutch engages way too late and it always slips when i apply throttle so acceleration is practically non existent and it's so bad that my bike isn't usable at the moment.
I think my clutch springs are too stiff, is there anything i can do?
By any chance would this engine work for a tricycle?
hey bike berry I have a schwinn JAGUAR beach cruiser it has 7 gears to change into the rear wheel the pedals only have one gear I want a 4 Stroke engine but I don't know what kind of kit I need with the 7 gears and also I try to look up 4 or 2 stroke instalation videos on bikes with gears ( 10 speed, 7 speed, mountain bikes or a bike like mine's ) but no luck do you guys know of any video or you think you guys can make a video about this it would be a big help to new customers THANKS SOON TO BE A FIRST TIME CUSTOMER AND RIDER CAN'T WAIT 😆 👍
+Omar Coronado the bike gears and the gear the motor pulls are on opposite sides so it should make no difference
I would like to take a cross country trip on a motorized bike would any brand of engine stand up to such a trip or what engine would be best
Lk4ahro I would say a honda 4 stroke, also keep spare parts
Do you have to have a certain bike for this?
I'm interested in getting this kit to install on my huffy mountain bike. I was wondering do you have any way for this motor to be attached to the shift kit on my bike and still maintain pedal function? I noticed there are shift kits but you don't offer them from your site.
shindukess i'v been looking also and been contacting ebay sellers but no-one has them.
Google sick bike parts. They have shift kits.
shindukess yes sick bike parts has them for this engine just check if your transmission is compatible
What was the point of drilling the hole in the handle bar if nothen goes in it?
On Amazon i see it for $300 from bikeberry but it got a 2 and a half rating should I trust it? I really want this !
+Raishon Bodrick The reason why it is poorly rated is because people who don't do research buy it, and then complain that it won't fit.
Where do the kill switch wires connect he cut them?
You put the tensioner pulley in a maxed out position when the chain stretches you'll have to move the clamp. I think it should of been put about in the middle lower end of the bracket. Great video though
THE SMALL YELLOW BOTON
WHAT IS THE FUNTION????
THANKS
Can that engine mount support the Predator 79cc Engine?? Please help
Not on the stock mount the 4-stroke 48cc comes with, but I believe it can for the Heavy Duty Mount: www.bikeberry.com/engine-kit-parts/4-stroke-parts/heavy-duty-4-stroke-mount-plate.html
We are currently out of stock of it though. It should be available again in the next 1-2 weeks.
I like the 4 stroke, I bet it doesn't die when stopped for a while. I have an 80cc 2 stroke and it has a tendency to die if im stopped at a light. Then I have to peddle through the intersection and then I can use the throttle. I am still breaking it in but I dont think itll ever stop dying after being stopped for awhile. Does any know if it will change after the breakin period?
+Cassie G You might have to play around with the carb's idle speed, so try winding or unwinding the limit screw that stops the regulator valve. A 4 stroke will give you a lot less power output because of how its been designed since forever (Contains heavy counterweights, that have to be there so the engine doesn't stop when its not on the ignition stroke, so those will steal quite some power). If the problem persists, you may be locking down the engine when the wheels are stopped, on which i would recommend you to install a centrifugal clutch, in between the wheel's gear and the engine's power output gear, and this clutch will do, is that it won't engage the engine on low revs, and when climbing up engine rpm, clutch engages and the wheel will start spinning
On a Huffy beach cruiser you are better off using only the back rubber grommet because the front one will push the sprocket out too far making it difficult to align everything. Just be sure to remove the bearing dust cover and cut the lip so you can flatten it out over the top of the sprocket. Other than that the stock 40 tooth fits perfectly and you do NOT have to bend the brake arm.
Can someone please tell me why my 53cc 4 stroke engine has 2 sockets protruding from the carburetor?
I can't find a thing on enstalling a motor on a three wheel bicycle. Help please.
What oil do you use for it?
