    I remember having a huge fear of rollercoasters until I rode The Big One. On the drive there I kept telling myself to ride it and just do it. When I got to ride it, it was terrifying. The scariest part though was the lift hill. I just couldn’t look ahead. 😂😂 But after the first drop, I fell in love with it and enjoyed it so much! From that day on, I discovered my passion for rollercoasters and theme parks, especially Blackpool Pleasure Beach. I’d never really heard of other parks because BPB has always been my home park. It’s amazing how much rollercoasters can change you! I used to not even be able to ride Blue Flyer but now I can ride some of the worlds best rollercoasters like ICON without even giving it a second thought.
    My one piece of advice is just do it! There’s nothing to lose because otherwise you’ll regret it.
    Amazing video! Your content is always great to watch! My favourite video being the future of BPB! :)

    My fear is loss of control. I know I’m safe but it’s the whole “letting yourself go” and letting something else control your movement. Once the restraints go on I panic a little. I’m this way on planes and other forms of travel as well. I just need to suck it up and do it! Lol

    • @CoasterBuddy
      @CoasterBuddy  2 года назад +1

      I can totally understand that, i think the best way to tackle it is pretend you’re in a safe car or something, because then it feels like you’re not being thrashed around and instead feel more in control with a sense of direction. But just doing it works great too 😂! Good luck!

    After i went on Icon as my first coaster i realised why most people work their way up. On the first launch, i got so terrified (because id never been on anything like it) that i looked down the entire ride in fear. Since then ive been to scared to go on big rides until next year when i go again. ill try to go on it again.

      Icon as a first coaster is a big step! It’s worth trying it again for sure, it’s a really great coaster once you get used to it, but if you feel too nervous, I started out with blue flyer and grand national, that might help. Thanks for watching!

    It helps massively to eat in the right way in order to have a good stomach feeling. If I didn't eat well at all (too little usually) the rollercoasters would be such a bad feeling on my stomach, reasons why I didn't go much on coasts with tall/vertical drops. Yesterday I went to a themepark and ate differently, much more like my actual routine and eating along the way (Always thought an empty stomach would be a much better feeling, but it's quite the opposite), and basically felt nothing but pleasure and fun even on large drops. Too bad most parks here don't go much taller than 40m but I'm glad to know I could ride every single one of them without any discomfort (other than headaches with some specific coasters, even SLC's don't hurt me) and loads of pleasure.
    TLDR; eat normally, make sure you stuff up well because that helped me massively overcome my fear of that nasty stomach feeling, oh and also learn to enjoy every single drop and hill, that adrenaline rush feels amazing.

    • @CoasterBuddy
      @CoasterBuddy  2 года назад +1

      That’s some really great advice! When using your method it’s quite easy to eventually eradicate the belly feeling almost entirely, which is why I find coasters so fun, thanks for watching! Greatly appreciated.

      I'm going to definitely try this! For me it's so easy to not eat and drink enough at theme parks because I just don't get hungry due to the excitement and I'd rather be going on rides than sitting down for a meal but I know it's not great so I'll make sure to try this!!

    Flamingo Land helped me, I mean that place has Mumbo Jumbo which was a ride that even as a kid I thought didn't look too intense - I thought it was just like a Wild Mouse ride, of course it was way more intense having hangtime and the steepest drop ever (at some point) but still I fell in love with that ride, same for Velocity! A few years later I got to go back to Flamingo Land and I got the courage to try Kumali (which was awesome) and Hero, something I came to regret...
