Susanne Bernhard (soprano) Marina Prudenskaja (mezzo-soprano) Michael Spyres (tenor) Tareq Nazmi (bass) Rundfunkchor Berlin Berliner Philharmoniker Daniel Barenboim conductor Berlin Philharmonie, 12 March, 2022.
If ever there was a test of technique it’s this piece. The women look and sound like they are struggling, the soprano is out of tune at times and the mezzo is practically dancing behind her stand! Michael Spyres delightful as always, the bass is decent.

Might I suggest Andiswa Makan (Germany) and Kelebogile Besong (USA) for a truly hair-raising soprano...true forces.
