    I like how the day and date does not cut off any numerals unlike the khaki king where the day "eats" the top of the dial.

    I've got the blue dial version of this Pilot Day Date, absolute stunner. The Arabic numeral indices also light up based on certain light angles. I've also got a slender wrist at 6.75 inches and it works well for reasons you described.

  • @omegaknight01

    I have a Jazzmaster with ETA 2892, which is incredibly accurate, and yesterday I bought a Khaki Field Aviation automatic with H30 and an 80-hour power reserve with a blue dial. Hamilton watches offer a lot for their price, which justifies their purchase.

    Very very very nice watch. I have a rolex olyster and panerai but I want to wear this watch. It feels very high quality. This watch attracts more attention. People are constantly asking questions. It has a very clear and eye-catching display.😍 I love it.

    I am the only watch person who hates it when watch slides on your wrist when you move your hand??

    • @TimedSquare
      @TimedSquare  5 лет назад +5

      You're definitely not the only one, I saw many people talking about that on WUS forums. I do prefer mine to move around, otherwise it feels like handcuffs to me. And after wearing a watch on a bracelet for an hour or so, my wrists tends to get a little bigger, so the extra room comes in handy. Tighter is good too, though!

    • @jonsoderkvist
      @jonsoderkvist 5 лет назад +5

      Your wrists size changes during the day with ambient temperture and your own level of activity. I foten fel tjat a bracelet needs to be a little loose in the morning. Later in the day it’s going to be a tight fit at some point.

    I nearly bought this watch a number of time, but in the end, I don't like this day complication and I don't like that it lacks a screw-down crown. I ended up buying the 38mm in rose gold because the day/date takes up much less space overall, has a brown sunburst dial, and it had a screw down crown with 200 meters water resistance instead of 100 like the 42mm version. The stainless 38mm is discontinued and very hard to find even used, so it's a good thing the 42mm is still a great looking watch.

  • @HighCoup333

    I've been in love with the Khaki Pilot brown/desert H64645531 for some time now. I like a more "tooltastic" look over dress, generally, and that one fits my profession better. Its vintage lume melts my heart, but my 6.25" made me question if it would work for me. I agree the 3 o'clock day/date on the 38mm is a deal breaker. And watching the video it appears now I have yet another grail to lust after. Thank you TSW!

    • @TimedSquare
      @TimedSquare  5 лет назад +2

      My pleasure! Did you have a chance to see the new H64645531 in the metal? I did and I think the color of the lume is weird AKA a little too pink for me. But then again, this is just my taste, and it might suit you more than this version. In any case, there is no question that the day at 12 is a must have on this one :) Cheers!

    Awesome watch. Interesting that some people keep recommending the Hamilton Khaki King over this because of the slightly smaller size but they don't understand how boring, uninspiring the Khaki King is compered to the Cooper.

  • @csarcpab
    @csarcpab 5 лет назад +2

    Great review Alessandro! My wrist is just 6 inches and all the points you mentioned when wearing the watch are true. However it indeed has a WTH factor that makes it outstand over any other pilot flieger watch. It´s toolish yet still very elegant at the same time, very Hamilton. Keep the good content coming congrats!!!

    • @TimedSquare
      @TimedSquare  5 лет назад +3

      Thank you Cesar! And yes, it might not be a flieger in its purest essence, but boy do I like it. For me, it's the best looking pilot watch period. Not everybody will agree of course, but this is perfection for me when it comes to that rugged elegance, that simple complexity. Thanks for watching!

  • @eliocalcagno3418
    @eliocalcagno3418 5 лет назад +3

    Thanks Alessandro! Was waiting for this one. There are surprisingly few reviews on this watch. I’m really tempted but I fear it might be too large on my 17cm wrist although it looks good on yours!

    • @TimedSquare
      @TimedSquare  5 лет назад +2

      Elio, unless your wrist is perfectly round, it should fit you no problem! Mine is 15.3 cm (!!). If you can try it at a reseller, that would be the best thing to do, but the lug to lug distance is still short for a 42 mm watch. That contrasts with the Tudor Black Bay for example: 41 mm in width, 50 mm lug to lug! When I wear my smaller watches for several days in a row and put this Hamilton on, it feels huge. Then after a few hours, I'm like "hell yeah"! I think I wanted to sell this watch like 8 times, but I can't let it go... proof that it's here to stay!

  • @MikeyFFA500

    I’m kind of mixed on that hour hand... I don’t know that you need it pointing at the minutes... I like that it’s trying to be different with the skeletonization as I also dislike when on pilot watches the hour hands often cover up the entire hour Arabic. But it makes the hour arm also very wide when using the lume. The hour markers should be lined as well.

      @@TimedSquare Cool! Thanks man. I'm just a bit hesitant because of the lug distance, so now I'm considering the SARB035.

  • @sergeyusik9934

    These digits catch the light in a very unique way, love it! I only wish the case will be 40mm. It would turn this watch into a bestseller.

    Really nice review and good photography. That said, I love looking at this watch and think the design is pretty unique but I just don't think it looks good on the wrist. Something about the dial just looks like a big pan.... and it's not just the fact that it's a big watch, I like big watches. I can't explain it. Anyway, still kind of want one... !

    • @TimedSquare
      @TimedSquare  5 лет назад

      Thank you so much! I think that has to do with the tiny bezel. Probably the only design element I would change on this watch!

    Classy watch...exquisite finish and one that dial and numerals...would have been even better if it was a 40mm watch...Strap excellent ..Bro just try it in a brown distressed leather strap with white stitching like the one that comes with the IWC would seriously look wow-Boom....

    • @TimedSquare
      @TimedSquare  5 лет назад

      I really like the look of black leather strap with white stitching, but in the end, metal bracelets always win for my tastes. Great combo for sure nonetheless. Thanks for watching!

    Man big watch are trendy , they are in. Few years was and we are still at this wave so dont let bother you with big/small watch, if you like it , wear it. We dont wear watch coz they are prety for others, we wearing them coz they are sweet for us.
    edit : dont forget, camera lens doing things bigger, i have for ma taste small watche and at the photo they look quite big. You have to see wrist from some normal distance to have neutral opinion, i guess 2 meters. From this distance i guess they will look ok, not big.

    • @TimedSquare
      @TimedSquare  5 лет назад +1

      You're totally right. My lens behaves like a 38.4 mm, the human eye is more like 55 mm. In really life, it's still biggish, but I don't care :) As you said: wearing what we like (and not trying to please others) feels great!

    The watch is a type B Fleiger nazi air force dial. I do love that style and have a few type B's however Hamilton made their version a bit too modern for me by putting it in a stylish case, crown guards and putting a day/date on it. I prefer the nazi version that is basic and big- wear a watch like that and you want to bomb London.

    Great job on the review! It does look big, but still awesome. I was lucky to find the 38mm version of this watch, it fits me perfectly. Unfortunately it didn't come on a bracelet which I would have preferred, but we can't have everything.

      Both are real. The previous movement was a stock ETA 2834-2 beating at 28800 vph. This one is the H-40, a modified ETA 2834-2 beating at 21600 vph with 80 hours of power reserve.
