My dash cam came with a OBD2 power supply connection, and it has a on and off switch, and been having this day and night, never drained my car battery, love it, and it records to car stereo easily transfer by wifi to cellphone the video file.
that's awesome!
Imagine doing a review of a dashcam but not include any sample footage in different lighting conditions....like....wtf?

Yup not really a review here

I bought one,Thanks for the info...It was at good price as well,Amazon prime time:)
thanks for watching! Amazon prime day is my Christmas morning
Lol im still waiting for that to come in Australia in about 9 hours
@@jariv1991 Use my link in the description to the video, helps me out a ton and is appreciate
I saw another video that the guy said it did have an internal battery and that it should be charged for 4 hours before installation. So if not hard wired wouldn’t that still be used for parking mode recording?
My wife bought me this camera for my birthday recently. It’s pretty easy to use. I havent viewed and video on my computer yet, but I imagine the video quality is pretty good. I couldn’t find anywhere in the instructions that explain what the black ring around the front camera lens is. Sounds like it’s the lens for the infrared bulbs. I wasnt sure if it was for that or the motion detection.
You can adjust camera angles by moving that piece
@@NoFate247 yea, i know about that feature. I’m not talking about the camera lens assembly itself, just the black ring around the glass lens. It looks just like the infrared bulb cover on my trail camera. If the camera has night vision then that’s most likely what it’s for.
People...please do NOT use SANDISK... Lost so many photos because the microSD card went corrupt. Play just a bit more and get a Samsung...much better quality for any of your memory needs. Good review. Keep it up
alexandergoldman thanks for your feedback and appreciate you watching
I plugged in a sandisk high endurance before i found out. Seems to work fine. Did yours go bad right away or how long did it take? Just wondering if i really need to change it out.
Very nice video. I purchased the N3 for my 4runner and found it is two bulky. I like this one. My question is, if the rear camera is mounted vertical, will the picture self orient? My rear window goes down and there is not a good enough area at the top. I would have to mount it on the side of the molding.
no it won't. But in an court of law, that can easily be flipped.
I just bought this to replace a previous camera set that went bad (different brand). I hardwired that set. Do you think that will still work with this camera set with the existing cables I used for the previous set? I don't want to have to run new cables again. Thanks....
I think it will, you would know right away if it won't
@@NoFate247 - Ok. I Initially connected the camera and it didn't work, but I didn't know I had to charge it first. I figured direct power from the car would turn it on right away, but it didn't. I'll test it again after it's charged.
Nice video thanks
I'm curious in this camera and have found this video very helpful. This video was made over 3 years ago, how does the camera system hold up now?
Still works great
Is this device provides in dash Wi-Fi so we can check out its recordings while using it app on our mobile devices?
yes it does but I never reviewed that feature.
How is the lens adjustable for up/down and left/right once the camera is mounted.
Easy enough, you can't turn it a lot, like to face the drivers side window but enough to get it in the perfect position for the view you want
11 min. of my life that I wont get back. I thought it would be a ttutorial.

Can you show some night vision footage. Really considering this one. Thanks
Dustin G i love this thing!!! Thought I put nighttime footage in the video
Looking for something with a great parking mode. I don't mind hardwiring. Is this a good option or do you recommend something else? Car was vandalized and parking mode is more important to me than while driving
I never tried parking mode to be honest so I can't speak to it sorry
Thinkware or Blackvue is your best bet for parking mode dependability. I have a Viofo also, but I would not depend on it for parking mode surveillance either until proven otherwise.
@@dashcamjourney4599 thanks I need to check that out, feel like parking mode is so important
I plugged in a sandisk 256 high endurance sd card. It seems to work fine. Anyone have any comments or some kind of reason I should change it out?
If it works keep using it and check it in a week
wait so to use dual camera, the front camera can only record in 1080p 30fps?
Yes
You should show the content of the box. How is it connected (just the wire connectors)?
Yeah I have a lot to learn from this video. But it was just connected by the wires
Thanks was a good informative video...
Thanks for watching and subscribing 👍🏼
I have this camera. What camera do you use now? I would like one that uses its own power source for parking mode. I believe this one also makes you manually select parking mode using the menu every time you want to use it which sucks. It doesn't automatically go into parking mode.
Yeah I still use it but rear camera is busted
How do I adjust the settings on the camera? Times off is one thing but I’m sure there’s more.
Sorry, don't remember, this video was a ways old.
Excelent review 💯 💯 💯
appreciate you watching!

Well done thank you

Great pc chassis. Storm. And I had fun at the Spartan race. S1 is nice but the video limitation sucks. How is it in the sun all day. Parking mode uses caps to power up.
Still works well in the sun, I never got an overheating issue.
We would like to hear ur opinion on (Rexing v5 ) dash cam 😄
I would need to review it first
If you want the dash cam to be removable try putting an adhesive screen protector on the windshield, then stick the dash cam to the screen protector.
Where to buy it?
I don't mind hardwiring it. If you can find your fusebox, you can do it.👍🏻
Does it drain the battery when the car isn't running?
@@NoFate247 No. It only comes on when needed. I suppose if there was something triggering the camera over and over and your battery is weak, it is possible, but I haven't had that issue.
@@NoFate247Yes and No, yes anything you leave on will drain your battery to some degree. But the amount of time is crucial, shopping at a store and overnight parking is fine. Leaving it on for a week, yeah more than likely it will be dead. I’ve left mine on for 3 days and it didn’t kill my battery so that’s good…. But I also had a BlackVue, their hardwire kit kills the camera once your car go belows 11.5 volts, I think the vantrue hardwire kit has an 11.5V cutoff as well, but I’m not sure
Is there an app that will allow you to watch footage in real time or download video directly to your phone?
Yes there is you just need to download it
@@NoFate247 I don't see it in the app store though
How can you give an honest review without installing and testing the product? Mind boggling!
It was installed just not hard wired. Still using this dash cam in my car and take loving it
Hey I got a question that how do I step it up for recoding
Did you watch the whole video
Can a family member be able to view in real time what the car is showing thru logging in the app?
No have to upload it
does this front camera have its own battery meaning once charged you can turn it on with out any kind of charging cable
Yes but not a big battery
@@NoFate247 after seeing this reveiw and others i bought the item but camera does not charge only comes on when it has some kind of power cable plugged in
The supercapacitor replaces the Li Ion battery. No battery. The product details mentions this multiple times. Add on battery or hardwire kit
@@stevebutler812 not about being lazy its about being dyslexic i asked a simple question always nice to get advise
I like your style and trying to be as complete as possible, although Definitely you should’ve added a few clips for night time as well and point out that it has the Sony nighttime technology. You should’ve also covered whether or not it has an app and how it works. In addition, I was kind of surprised that you don’t advise hardwiring it whatsoever to DIY DAD‘s they’re pretty damn capable. All you have to do is spend about $10-$15 for a dash cam wiring kit which gives you short adaptive wires for multiple manufacture fuse boxes, in addition to the long one for purposes of plugging into an empty slot on your fuse box. Any DIY DAD can look @ his owners manual & see the fuse box diagram to do this, so that you can use the parking mode. I’m disabled and had a guy put it on for me but it took him a total of 15 minutes including formatting the microSD card. Out of the 5-10 cameras I reviewed/& priced on Amazon, (THIS & the ROVE R2-4K) were the only one’s capable of a 256 GB, or even 512GB. It has to be a Samsung micro SD UHS-I U3 UHD100MB/s Full HD & 4K UHD memory card. After looking at all the features, pros and cons I went with the ROVE R2-4K, however it’s only for the front windshield and has excellent clarity. However, they are still re-developing the app which drags in real time, but you can download the video first and then play it back crystal clear. Thanks buddy
If I did this review again today it'd be completely different.
@@NoFate247 What would be completely different in your review? I am looking at dash cams and would like to know please.
I would include more footage but my thoughts woukd be the same
Thanks for the info... I am having a hard time finding one...that will do what I want it to do... do you have tinted rear window? if so how how does it handle the night view out the rear window?
All these dashcams plug into the cigarette lighter which drains your battery. Can you power the S1 with USB?
Yes you can if you wire it up but that might be more work than you wanted to do
The fact that you "PRO" the super capacitor but "CON" the lack of a battery because you don't want to hard wire the cam to the car to get parking mode is hilarious!
How so?
@@NoFate247 my car is off and the power connection it comes with the blue lights stay on
If people don't run power to their dashcams, how do they power their cameras? Are people taking their camera out of the car every time they park to charge it or something? That comment about not hardwiring was strange to me, as I never imagined running one without plugging it in to power 😅
Plugging it into the lighter in your car is different than hardwiring to your battery. Camera won't get electricity when car is off from your cigarette lighter
@@NoFate247 oh, is toyota like that? My car has power to the power outlets whether the key is on or off. That makes sense now if some cars don't.
@@soundmindtv2911 great question but I don't know my honda and subaru no power to cigarette lighters when car is off
@@NoFate247 makes total sense now. I was picturing people taking the camera inside to charge or something 😅

If someone breaks into your car and steals the camera, are you pretty much screwed? I’m not seeing an app for this
Well for any dash camera you are screwed if you haven't uploaded the footage
With having a very modified car, parking mode is a must for me! Jealous people everywhere
Yeah I definitely think parking mode is a must have
11+ minutes without opening the freakn box!

Mans said I won’t hardwire it to my car 😂 it’s just two fuzes and a ground
You are more man than me, I'm lazy.
If you hard wire a camera to a modern car it will impact the battery management which monitors for unexpected drain. Your stop-start will not function correctly afterwards.
What kind of review is this? U dont even use it and only show footage from other youtuber... wtf. All the features u have mentioned can be find in the description.

The best?!??
Haven't tried enough to say the best but very good front and back video and audio, especially at night
Night time is great, but I'm not gonna show you an example . My face will do instead
How can I improve this video?
I see the box but I don’t see it in your vehicle not that you don’t have it in your vehicle but there’s so many guys to do reviews and they’ve never even taken the thing out of the box the pictures you put up are basically from the website. Not trying to be hyper critical but there’s so many people that are doing these that never ever open the box they probably just send it back just saying do you wanna have credibility you gotta show credibility
Fair point, will definitely do that next time. Any other ways I can improve for the next review
You lost me at mikes per second. Why didn’t you show any of your actual footage of the cam video?

It will not record more then 12 seconds at a time on loop....
That's definitely a defect return it asap
Good for a semi truck?
Yes if you can get thee rear camera to reach the back

No disrespect broseph but all I seen was you holding a box......😑
@@reminero1955 Ohhh, yeah it was one of my first reviews and honestly I missed getting a lot of "b-roll" so not sure if there is one. Sorry about that. I still have this working in my car if that helps at all.

I payed $149 after $30 discount Today 6/16/21 at amazon.
Love the enthusiasm but this merely an advertisement as there is no reviewing at all. The lack of video testing in video for day and night mode, audio, and visual clarity left a lot to desire.
Honestly I made this a while ago and did a bad job. Current videos are better, but you are right this is missing a lot of key items
@@NoFate247 you can always do a follow up. 😊 This is still a popular dash cam
Who wouldn’t wire it directly to their car , 8 years of no charging or removing from the backing
Ehhh.....wouldn't want to drain the battery for one
@@NoFate247 if you use your car often that would not be a problem , if your car sits for a week then what cha expect
The exclusion of non-Korean SD cards is stupid. Blatent lie. I have Samsung and the Japanese SanDisk cards and I will test them both.
That's just what they wrote. Def. let me know how it tests please.
ROCKY LOVES MEN
you need to use a Samsung? I thought micro SD was a standard for the cards.... either way Samsung is good I would definitely not Knock them (am an IT professional and Samsung makes top tier products when it comes to memory and storage)
instructions recommend samsung
I just tested my sandisk and it came up short. It should have given 10mb per second and it got down to 8 on more than one test.
Correction for last post. My sandisk tested just fine after over a year in an apeman c860 it's still working fine.
lol hard wiring takes 2 seconds and the rest is hiding the cable. its not hard.
you may be over estimating my skill level. Would it potentially drain the battery?
@@NoFate247 If you know how to replace a fuse, you know how to hard wire it. Will it drain the battery? yes, but only to 11.6v (12v system) then low voltage shutoff engages. according to the amazon listing anyways. However you said this has Wi-fi but i cannot find that at all in the listing. my assumption is that you have to remove the card and plug the card into a computer. or am i wrong?
A lot of talk, but I never actually saw the unit - which was the whole idea of watching this video. disappointed.
Sorry. I will remake the review, this was a while and I was still learning what to include m. Thanks for the feedback. Is there anything else you want to specifically see
LOL
What would have been great is if he talked more about installing this piece of shit and some caveats with more clips of the product... I dont need someone telling me what a fucking car cam is for
You bring up excellent points, made this video a while ago and it is lacking.
Dang, sounds like somebody's having a tough time with the three step process of installing this camera. 😂😂😳
