Hey mate great video. But one thing I’d suggest is to change your video recording settings to 60fps for the front not 30fps. You’ll capture better frame rate video and better way to see license plates easier at lower or high speed because higher frames will capture peak focus and won’t distort lettering. 1440p60fps+ 108030fps mode. You had it set to standard. It would have been a better video if we got to see it work in 60fps as RUclips allows 60fps video uploads. Also another suggestion is to buy the CPL filter lens for the front of it, long story short it’s perfect for dashcams to reject glare. It would have been great to see a CPL lens fitted which they sell for it on Amazon. As I’m looking to buying this camera because of the new Sony Starvis 2 sensor.
it'll be the same low bit rate crappy quality video, just slightly smoother. i've done it before with a different brand 2.7k/60. It didn't make much difference. Plates were still hard to read unless in perfect lighting conditions, speed, car position and distance. Instead of all the gimmicks dashcam makers should focus on image quality and low light.
@@cl4s2013naaah Sony Starvis 2 sensors have decreased motion blur compared to the old chips. It will make a positive difference. Can I ask which brand? Because Starvis 2 sensors have only just started coming out in new Dashcams end of last year 2023. You can’t compare a Starvis 1 sensor set at 60fps to this. You need faster frame rate to portray better peak focusing resulting in less blur. I was looking at the new 70mai A810 which has the 60fps ability but in dual channel changing the front to 60fps, it supposedly switches the HDR off because of the higher bit rate conflicts to hardware performance in dual channel recording written into their firmware. Which defeats the purpose of a new sensor if you’re not taking advantage of HDR data written into the playback. One of the main reasons why I was looking at this or the new FineVu GX35 (doesn’t have 60fps though) and VIOFO A229 Plus which has 2k in the front and also in the rear with both Starvis 2 chip sensors too with front capable of 60fps.

Thank you for this video Danny - I just ordered the complete bundle hardwire set for an unbelievable price of $199 and got the sim card you suggested for $49. I am a middle aged female and will feel safer on the road her in KC, MO with a front/rear dashcam. Just wished you lived here to install for me. Do you think Best Buy would be suitable for the installation ?
@@dannysdiygarage I am going to take it to Sante Fe Auto Sound - I need an installer that can help walk me through the process of how to operate it correctly and will take the time to help with that. Thank you so much!! I think I bought the right one for me. God Bless!
I guess it would destroy this company if they included polarizing filters for both front and rear cams. Especially the rear cam. I'm ready for 4k 60/60 front/read but there's nothing on the market yet. Looking at these videos on my 4k screen, even those uploaded in 4k, they don't look any different from my old 4k/1080 30/30 dual channel camera. Same crappy quality.
"Lock the video" command what is it doing more precisely ? It will protect the video, but what video? May be I am in a 1 min loop, and the current video is at its 57 second. I say "lock the video". Does the camera continue to record the rest of 3 seconds and will save the video in a special folder, or it will start a new video 1 min length?
I have it set up for 5 minute loops, when I say lock the video, it locks the current 5 minute loop and starts a new one, this makes it easier to find if you need it, hopefully this answers your question
Apologize in advance for this question but I'm not overly knowledgeable about these cameras ,,,I just bought one ,,,,does this camera record internally on a loop or do I absolutely need the SD card to operate it
So does this camera record continuously for say my 30min drive and save it when power off? [The entire 30mi?] Or, does it save the trip in the 1/3/5 min loops? Also, does it record the front and rear at the same time? I have a garmin tandom, and it is a horrible camera that rarely saves a trip
Great video. Super helpful, just bought one of these for my son.
Glad I could help!

no internal memory. you need a card. any good brand u3 card works for me. get high endurance samsung 256 or 512.

I appreciate that, 👍🏼
