5:39 Please do not route the cable across the pillar like that. You are introducing a safety hazard in the car by going across the curtain airbags. What's worse, your pillar is even LABELLED that there are curtain airbags installed. If your curtain airbag goes off with the cable routed like that you can potentially stop it from fully inflating or it might rip the cable and shoot it right in your face. Either take the panel off and route underneath the airbag or route on the windshield side of the pillar. Please adjust your video because you are giving people potentially dangerous advice and from all of the videos I have seen on dashcam installation so far most of them are making this mistake and are certainly going to get somebody hurt.
5:11 - How did you get it to stick? Mine doesn't stick to the glass. I added the thin sheet of plastic (looks like a a cell phone protector, sticky on side one to adhere to the glass, non-sticky on side two) - but the camera mount is supposed to adhere?? Mine doesn't - not a hint of attraction, I can't even let go. I'm not stupid, what am I doing wrong??
I put my E1 in yesterday. I just peeled off the covering on the mount adhesive, and stuck it on the windshield. It's not going anywhere without some real muscle applied to it or some heat. My only complaint about the E1 is it seems like the WIFI turns off a lot and it has to he turned on again, and reconnected. It's a great camera other than that.
I just got one it’s a good camera, but it falls off my windshield when I’m driving, even with the clear plastic they recommend you put on the windshield before mounting the cam.
I have the Viofo A129 dashcam, which takes really sharp video, but what I don't like is the software and the buttons layout. From watching this review the Vantrue E1 has a very logical software and button layout, very tempting!
Great review thanks! I think it is funny that you blurred out the gps co-ordinates, but left the street names and landmarks where I can see you are in Buffalo Grove, IL. But that goes to show how clear the dashcam footage is. I am getting mine delivered tomorrow. 🙂The nice thing is I have the kit to convert my rear-view mirror power-cable to USB so I can power it with a very short USB cable so no messy wires to hide away.
Hi Sir. I saw you use upper charge cigarette lighter but mine could not work at that port but only work usb port on camera body! Should I return it or how to troubleshoot? Thks
Can I use a 12V Apple iPad power socket to power my dash cam with a USB-A to USB-C cable? I assume a standard USB-A wall power connector only provides 5V, not enough to power the dash cam.
Speed is displayed on the camera while driving, but it is not displayed in the stamp, the check mark is set in the settings... Does anyone have a solution?
Parking mode does not work right off the bat. U need to buy their exclusive cable for it to work. It motion detects and records for however long u set the record time to be.
1 minute loop seems too short….in the case of an accident or road rager 5 minutes seems better to make sure the whole incident is recorded. Just my opinion. Thanks for this excellent video.
The idea is that if you are in an accident and the camera is crushed, the last clip could be corrupt. So, if you have it split into 3 minute clips, you could lose 3 minutes of footage, but if you change it to 1 minute clips, the most you can lose is 1 minute.

Good point 👍

You’ve attached your camera to the ‘black dots’ area of your car window. Will it not bring these dots off if you decide to move the mount?
Shouldn’t be a problem. I usually use a heat gun on low setting to soften the adhesive and it comes right off
4K 30 FPS is terrible for motion blur. You'd do better with 1080 at 60 FPS for clear footage such as reading license plates.
Except makes no difference in reading licence plates
I changed mine the judder annoyed the hell out of me at 30 hertz.
I've been looking for a good dash cam for a while, might have to try this one out..!

I just purchased this so thanks for posting. very helpful.
Is it good?
@@mtrest4 Pretty plug and play, although the adhesive strip didn't work so i stuck it on the glass direct. App works well enough to mine the clips

Could you please post a link for the wiring harness kit?
hello. Which kit would that be?

Does this need to be connected to 12V outlet at all times or is there another way to power it?
I think you can use a power bank but I think the USB-A outlet is only 5V. Possibly a 12V outlet is required.
Get the OBD connector cable.
SD card included with the camera?
no

Hi, did you find any solution ?
@@julianborabora Changed to English settings and restore to standard settings
@@Pasu095 Cheers mate! Thank you !
My mount won't move on the hinge so it's pointing up to the sky. Is there a way to release it cause I feel it's going to snap when I try to pull it
There shouldn’t be any releases. It just moved freely for me. Try checking with the company or get a replacement.
Use more muscle. Mine is really stiff.
@@nrd515 that's what she said.
Too bad only 1 channel
What about parking mode? Would like to see how well that works.

@@Chewi_Kitten I have the cable. It appears to stay on all the time, even when no motion is detected. This is the big issue with this cam.
@@Gambitt1970 I think I read in the comments that you need to update the firmware.

vantrue sucks it is a pain to down load video.. sucks, crap do not but it
you say it sucks but dont recommend another model
Perhaps you don't know how to backup your videos. Just copy them from the memory card to your computer.
This looks a heap of crap.
Why?
