It’s cool you had a clip of a Hobie off of the Mokuluas. Many a time I sailed on my friends Hobie in Kailua Bay and Lanikai in the early 70s. We would camp overnight on the Big Moke, sleeping under the tramp of the Hobie. -Good times!
His mind was forever creative. An example is this one evening he and Susan were at our house for a Chinese dinner. By the time we finished eating he had used the chopsticks to create a boat. He was a gentleman as after concluding dinner he said "All the guys come in the kitchen.....we wash the dishes". Judy Curreri-Cantu.
I loved these videos and I hope you guys make more of them. I was disappointing that there was not a part three because I am a kayak fisherman and I was hoping to hear some of the history of the mirage drive and pedal kayaks in general, as well as the fishing kayak craze. I know this was made in the 80s but you guys have some great history and I wish there was a part three. Its not too late!
I used to sail on a lake back in the mid 80s. There was a Hobie 33 at the lake & boy was that thing fast. We always bobbed around at 6 or 7knts on a Catalina 25 & that Hobie would burn past us. lol Fun days.
Hobie was the man.
He made a difference.
Here's to a life well-lived.

1:54 shows how tough hobies are! Do that with an f18 and it will split in half!
